I'm thinking along the lines of 'letting them protect themselves'. I feel like that fits with Kaladin's journey.

My copy isn't missing any pages, and as for the art, in Oathbringer it's there, on pages that are slightly thicker then the rest of the book.

I agree, you should read it. As for stopping after the first book, depends on how weird you like books to get.

Zack Hemsey, maybe? I don't listen to rap, so I don't actually know if his music is rap, but it's very good. Waiting Between Worlds is one of the best that I've heard from him.

Kaladin's Fourth Ideal, for certain. I wasn't crying, but that was because I'd cried over Teft. And the Dog and the Dragon! I loved that story so much. I think the other really awesome moment for me was Maya's 'We chose'. That was powerful.

"Yes sir." The familiar term slips out before he can stop it, but it does't feel as strained as it used to.

"I am."

Martin breathes. "I don't know." The words are far harder to get out then they should be. He's supposed to know how to deal with this sort of thing. "I'm an okay strategist," he offers. He's never going to get free of the YTP. They really did take his mind. He can't tell these people, never. They cannot know about those years. "This is very different from wars where I'm from," he settles on. "So I need to know more."

"You could say that. I've never been in a command position officially, though there have been times I've had to take over on the battlefield." He feels his jaw clench slightly. The foxhole. The rifle. The all consuming exhaustion and terror and one last shot. "I am fairly good at adapting, though."

I was definitely seeing little Stormlight references throughout, though I missed the planet name. I also thought the first five minutes of the episode kind of reminded me of Mistborn.

I've said this before (and I know, it's not accurate), Luke Pasqualino as Kaladin. My other thought is Erin Kellyman as Shallan. Or maybe Lift, but Lift is a bit younger than that.

We always watch A Charlie Brown Christmas, and we have tacos on Christmas Eve.

@Ookla the Channelknight, thanks for tagging me here! Gosh, there's so many things that I'm thankful for. I'm thankful that I started reading Brandon Sanderson, because how else would I have met all you wonderful people! I'm thankful that I live in a time and place where I get to learn to read. School, and that I live in a time and place where I get to go to school. Running water Electricity My family My friends, on and off the Shard. My dogs - I may get annoyed with them, but I love them. Here's a crazy one - I'm thankful for Covid, because without it, I might never have picked up The Way of Kings. I'm not going to tag a lot of people in this (saving the really mushy emotional stuff for my Shardiversary), but I will say that every single one of you are incredibly amazing people, and I hope that one day, I will get to meet you in person. Hugs for everyone!
