  1. I agree. I love a well-written morally grey character, but I always feel a bit bad about liking them or relating to something about them. But a genuinely good guy is very comforting - I feel like it speaks of more hope. It's part of the reason I like Aragorn so much - he's a good person.
  2. He's through all of Mistborn save Secret History, but through a series of near misses and unfortunate events, we haven't gotten to discuss SOS or BOM. He does know the Cosmere exists, I told him a bit when he finished HOA. Just enough to know there are other planets and Shards.
  3. I haven't met many annoying boys, but I talk to, like, one. And he's nice. I'm introducing him to the Cosmere.
  4. Oof, yeah. I know what you mean. When you really wish Stormlight and spren bonds existed because Things.
  5. All I have to say is I love your cat.
  6. If you take it a chapter at a time, it's easier.
  7. Over halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring! There are so many more Silmarillion references than I remember, just little details that click when you know what to look for.
  8. When you suddenly understand how Vorin men might find women's food too sweet. Good golly, fruitcake has a lot of sugar.
  9. For me, the middle one is broken.
  10. Hey, @Matrim’s Dice?  Remember that thing I said earlier about it not ever snowing for me?

    Yeah, it's snowing.

    Holy woah.

Uh-oh, I live on the other side of the country. Sorry.

  11. A thought from my shopping expedition today:

'Oh, the weather outside is frightful... yeah, that's about it, it's windy and rainy and I'm wearing too many jackets'.

I wish.  Nah, it just pours the liquid wrath of the heavens over here.

      Rain is fantastic.

      So is snow.

      Both are amazing.

Snow means skiing, and rain means running through puddles in the middle of the street even though you're no longer a young child.

Both are fun to climb trees in.

It is neither snowing or raining here, however. Which is unfortunate.

Somehow, despite the rain, there's still a little bit of snow on the ground from last night.

      I couldn't be happier :P

  12. Nice. Logically I knew that, not sure why I asked. Probably because things ferment in my head. Thanks anyway!
  13. So Book of Boba Fett is it's own thing. Do we know when it'll be released or do we just know the title? I have questions about if that's going to be family-friendly, but those will probably be answered later.
  14. No, I meant there would be something symbolic about Sanderson cameoing as a Bridge Four member. My bad. Didn't clarify that very well!
  15. Did some digging, and could not find a topic to post this in that wouldn't be minor necro, so here we are. Yesterday, I had a thought. You know what would be a great cameo for Sanderson if he wanted one? A member of Bridge Four. (Yes, I know, almost all Rosharans look somewhat Asian/Polynesian.) There was a symbolic thing about him having that cameo that came up in my brain, but I don't remember it now. If someone wants to figure out why that's symbolic, I won't stop you. (Someone please figure it out.) Anyone else have random thoughts about an adaption that don't pertain to casting or live action vs. animated? Post 'em here!
  16. Ooh, what do you think so far? A quarter through The Fellowship of the Ring! I'm listening to the combined soundtracks from the Peter Jackson Movies as I go. This amazing coincidence hapened: I finished 'The Prophecy' FOTR's first track just in time for 'Concerning Hobbits' as I finished the forward and started Chapter One, A Long-Expected Party! I'm remembering how much I love Middle-Earth - Sanderson may be in my top two, but Tolkien is number one, and there's a reason. You can just tell that this is the grandfather of fantasy as we know it, and with good reason. It feels like coming home. It feels like a world that if I walk just far enough, I'll find it.
  17. Finished The Promise part two! Not... not what I was expecting. On to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring!
  18. Thank yooooooouuuuu! You're awesome, and I equally enjoy our chats!
  19. Edit: @Truthless of Shinovar, you quoted me right as I was posting this.
  20. The Mandalorian season two
  21. That Kaladin braids his hair. It's so much more practical.
  22. I think the later release is from Covid delays.
