  1. Volcanic ash is often darker than ash from a wood fire, if I remember all those books I read correctly.
  2. I got to watch the first three episodes! Two things: One, I'm a wimp. I had to turn the lights on at the end of Two, it's better than I was expecting! I'm not particularly a fan of sitcoms, so I was a little skeptical as to how much I would enjoy it. It's the right mix of comedy and seriousness. I have a feeling I'm looking for things that aren't there, since we know that something's up, but don't have all the clues yet. Kinda maybe spoilers below for episode three?
  3. When you consider the Allomantic and Feruchemical charts A+ decor.
  4. Finished season 12 of Red vs Blue! The Project Freelancer arc was my favorite, but the Chorus arc is pretty good so far.
  5. Martin watches the exchange curiously. The fact that Fadran takes this appearance in stride makes it seem like a common occurrence. Interesting.
  6. Welp, I finished Rebel Sisters. I really wanted to like it, and it's really good. But the tenses just didn't work for me. I really enjoyed the plot, though, so it balances out. On to some sci-fi recommended to me by Sharders!
  7. Sounds good, it's on the list!
  8. I finished Romeo and Juliet, and currently my only thought is 'well that escalated quickly'. I'm gonna need a couple days to think about that one. I started Rebel Sisters, which is the sequel to War Girls. A little hard to summarize, but it's about two sisters in a futuristic war-torn Nigeria. (Could be wrong on the location, it's been a few months since I read the first one...) It's interesting. Not my usual sphere of sci-fi at all. I feel kind of bad about not liking it very much, but the tenses are taking me out of it a bit.
  9. Sounds interesting, what's it about?
  10. I guess I would call being a good citizen being respectful, accountable, and trustworthy. Doing your part, and then a bit extra if you can.
  11. Yup. I'm good with slow. I'll put that on the list!
  12. I am in a sci-fi Mood and don't know where to find a good one. I figured, might as well ask the Shard! A couple 'filters' specific to this Mood; I really want something with cool tech, it doesn't have to be particularly logical. At least one character who's good at getting stuff done, and a plot with stakes. Maybe not world-threatening level, but like... continent level. Possibly something with a politics subplot. ...Yeah, I'm still watching Red vs Blue and I think it shows. The usual stipulations apply here, preferably no strong language, graphic stuff, that sort of thing. Big epic space battles and space marines required very welcome.
  13. When you actually write the beginning of a composition and realize that you've done a Tien nostalgia.
  14. I didn't finish Fablehaven, so I wouldn't know. I dunno, the first book didn't click.
  15. Ehhh... seven might be a little bit young for these. The first five books are a dragon war, it gets pretty brutal in parts for a middle grade series. It kind of depends, based on the kid.
  16. Gotcha. That sounds pretty reasonable. What with everything going on in the world, no one leaves the house anymore, so it's hard to find time to watch stuff. And I don't know how to use the TV remote.
  17. Would it be worth actively trying to search out a way to watch? I have Disney Plus, but I don't have the time/ability because some people around here don't get to watch it.
  18. Competent Jedi? Now I'm interested.
  19. I seem to recall that happening once... never actually finished the series. Who did that happen to? As for what I'm watching: I hit episode 70 of Critical Role Campaign Two. I have the lead. Now, even as new episodes come out, I have a ten episode lead. I'd go post in the CR thread about that, but I was the last person to post there, so that's a nope. I'm also done with Red vs Blue season eight and working through the MIA mini series. Spoilers below:
  20. Ooh, back to the Pyrriha dragons? Cool. Interesting, that's not something I'd ever thought about.
  21. Oh, there's another one coming? Is there a release date for it yet? I feel like I was made aware of Dragonslayer at some point, but I never got around to it. Was it good?
  22. So, if you know Red vs Blue, you probably know what the warthog music is.... need I say more? Good grief, this is going to be the soundtrack in my dreams for the next month. Mexican music for a jeep.
  23. I'm a bit through Act Two of Romeo and Juliet. It's actually really fun to read - the words have a very nice cadence. I'm also reading The Rose Society, since I have it. Series of strange events. I'm actually reading it really fast, which is nice. The Rose Society spoilers beneath:
