Did not end up reading six Jane Austen Novels, but I did read Unfinished Tales, Treasure Island, The Swiss Family Robinson, and Anne of Windy Poplars, so I'm still pleased with myself.

When you're seam ripping a painfully well color-matched thread, and think, 'this would be so much easier with a couple hundred Breaths'.

I cried. More than once. It grabbed all the emotions about similar things in my own life, and dragged them right out into the open again, in a heart-wrenching, but cathartic way. I also finished Knife of Dreams, because what better way to stall making a skirt, then reading about skirt smoothing? Next up, six Jane Austen novels, and Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth.

Master and Commander was free on YouTube, so I watched it. It was really good, I think.

Knife of Dreams has proven to be slightly slow going. I'm about to start And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer by Fredrick Backman. I've heard it's a very emotional book. Excited to see how it goes!

Martin follows him.

"Probably. I think we have to go there to go to any other worlds."

"I'm sure." He's pretty sure that the kid can handle himself. If they get rendezvous points set up, he has a feeling that they can make this work.

"Ah. Makes sense." He definitely is going to want a quick exit available for the kids. Plural. Two. Why did he think this was a good idea?

"None taken." Thirty? That changes things somewhat. "And smart. You're older than me, I guess."

"Fair point. A literal fly on the wall, ey?" Martin finds himself very glad that Earth doesn't have contact with other worlds. He doesn't even want to think of what the ISC and YTP could do with shapeshifters. "How old are you, anyway?"

"What kind of covert?" Martin steps out of the tent, absently motioning for the kid to follow. "Watching and listening?"

"It's fine, I guess." He is a kid. It's probably fine. "Maybe don't do that in the future, though. Uh. Did you have something to say?"

"The popping out of essentially nowhere." The 'essentially' feels like an important word to have here.

"What - don't do that," Martin says.

I'm friends with a lot of people slightly older than me, which means that a lot of my friends are graduating high school and heading off to other places, and it's been making me feel really lonely. And I'm worried about school because I've never had to spend multiple hours, five days a week, around hundreds of people. Not about the classes or how well I'll do, but just... people. I'm kind of nervous that it's going to drain me and I won't have as much energy to be with my friends.

I think I said basically exactly that to my sister while reading LOC for the first time.
