  1. I made a skirt! It's long! And swirly! And heavy! And I finished before my deadline! I've worn it a couple times during fittings, but I got to wear it today after finishing all the raw edges, and it feels so nice!
  2. Oh, that's good! I like how the Windrunner glyph sort of locks with the outer portion on the sides.
  3. I tried I Am Number Four and couldn't get through the first thirty pages. I may try again now that I've read a book from the author that I like.
  4. Read Ashfall Legacy by Pittacus Lore. I really liked it! Gonna start The Gathering Storm very soon.
  5. Have you ever walked right into a trap because you trust someone too much?

    I'm so freaking gullible.

    Gosh darn it.

Oof. When I got a phone I asked my friends to text me (this I sent on the school's chat platform) and they corresponded to each tell me they were someone else and it was a good two hours before I caught on :P

I can't even be mad, because it's actually hilarious.

      Yeah, that's how I felt.

  6. As they walk, Martin goes through his mostly empty pockets. He doesn't have any money. That could be an issue. Trading tends to leave more of a trail.
  7. Oh dear! I hope you stay safe.
  8. Martin rocks back on his heels. "Sounds like an outpost. That's good." So they're probably above the equator, in the Eastern Hemisphere. "Should be safe enough." And if it is an outpost, there's a good chance he can get in touch with some of his contacts.
  9. "Yes. No other sentient species that I'm aware of - and I would probably have been told."
  10. "Yes." Martin casts a concerned glance over to Remembrance.
  11. Martin squints. "Sure is. Should probably head that way, then." "Noon or so. Maybe a little later. I don't think we'll need to worry too much about it."
  12. "Believe me, it's a good thing it didn't." He drops the pebbles. Not volcanic - so that rules out a few places. "I'm not sure where we are. We'll figure out what we're doing once we find that out."
  13. "Maybe not, but I'm glad this one did." Martin crouches and picks up a few of the pebbles to get a closer look.
  14. Martin walks out of the portal, and nicely, does not find himself floating through zero-g. Rather the opposite, in fact. There's dirt and rocks under his feet, and a slightly overcast sky overhead. The air smells - not quite clear, but not bad, either. Where ever they've ended up, it's reasonably safe.
  15. "Sounds like the safety briefings," Martin mutters, breathes in and out, and walks through the portal.
  16. "Okay. And if we do end up in the middle of the Kupier Belt, we have a safety measure?"
  17. "Where will this bring us out?" Martin slips his hand under the edge of his jacket, running his fingers across the ridge of sewn-in items.
