  1. I'm not really supposed to be in this thread, I just wanted to say congratulations, and she looks adorable!
  2. "Martin, tell your no-fly friends what to do for descent!" Nahl yells. Martin nods, leaning forward again so he can see out the window. The ground outside rolls in pale green waves. "If you swallow, your ears will clear," he advises, not sure if all of them know what about that. "Almost there, Queen," he adds.
  3. Stormlight for me. Mistborn was my introduction, but I can really relate to some of the things various Stormlight characters go through.
  4. What movies/books/songs make you cry, and why? There's only two that are likely to make me cry repeatedly, and that's Interstellar, and 'And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer' by Fredrick Backman. Interstellar because I'm a very family-oriented person, and 'Every Morning' because in some ways I've been the kid in that book, and it hit very close to home. What about y'all?
  5. If you're talking about the Jenn Lyons book, yes, I read it last weekend! It was pretty good, I think that it has some really fascinating concepts. Edit: Oh gosh, I didn't realize there were more books in the series!
  6. I've listened to Something Just Like This kind of a lot recently. Which really explains my head right now, honestly. Also a lot of PelleK covers, but that's unrelated.
  7. What do you think of it? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts when you finish the whole trilogy as well. I picked up The Ruin of Kings recently, and enjoyed it pretty well. I've actually been reading a ton recently - almost completely though the Left Behind series, reread The Lost Planet and its sequel, The Stolen Moon (still hoping for the final book one day...), and am going to start a WondLa reread in the upcoming weeks. I've read more things, but these ones were my favorites.
  8. My friends, and all the memories I have with them is a pretty big thing. Prayer as well - It helps a lot to make time to spend with God, especially reading my Bible.
  9. This isn't in any particular order, but: Interstellar Cinderella (2015) Lord of the Rings (It's just one really long movie, right?) Captain America: The Winter Soldier Dune (2021) My top five is pretty undefined, but if I just wanted to chill and hangout with someone, one of these would probably my go to, if I didn't feel up to watching something new. The Chronicles of Narnia are also pretty high up on the list.
  10. I had an absolutely fascinating dream a while back, wherein myself and friends from various locations were in a desert-like location, allied with a Mad Max-esque caravan (Note: I've never seen any Mad Max movies), fighting off a skeleton army. And there may have only been three seasons, or at least, that's what one of my friends thought.
  11. Martin grabs the edge of his seat as the plane takes off, trying to breathe steadily. He's pretty sure he used to like flying, he just has to remember that they aren't going to an active combat zone. It'll be fine. He'll be fine.
  12. You just said that in terms that actually make me feel like it's a concept that applies to me. I really needed to hear that one.
  13. Me too. It gets better though. Sometimes it takes a while, depending on what those feelings are, but it gets better.
  14. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's made a pros and cons list about telling a crush you like them.

    Spoiler

I was hoping to avoid this part of life for a while and that's not what happened.

      Mat

Well see you happen to fill the small percentage of people with a mutual feeling xD

    3. Experience

      Experience

But you never know until you know, right?

But yeah, I totally get where the feelings of 'ah should I idk ahhh' are coming from I've felt them too xD

    4. Vapor

Fren, I know for a fact that my crush likes me and I’m still too scared. It’s okay if you don’t tell them. Stuff will figure itself out in the end.

  15. Dude, you absolutely do. You have an absolutely amazing and fascinating voice in your writing, and it's very admirable. I have a feeling that if I met you in person, I'd find your vocal pattern super interesting!
  16. I'm definitely going to at least get the gist, because it's all I'll get until they get traditionally published.
  17. I'd guess at least 16 mil. Gosh, I want to get these so bad, but I cannot justify roughly 50 dollars per hardcover with my current teenage income... Maybe I'll wait and see what the books are about, and then decide.
  18. My yearly allergies have kicked in, which means I'm not sleeping well, and I'm also not breathing well, and am generally miserable physically to go along with the mental miserableness that the last five or so days have presented. I can deal with it, but I don't like dealing with it, and it makes me a lot more clingy, which is a mild issue in the current state of the world.
  19. Bob Ross is also really good for just being happy, in my experience.
  20. Two things I'm looking for: something set in Industrial Revolution-era England. The second is fluffy, fairytale something. Think Cinderella (2015).
  21. So, there's this book I read a bit ago called The Distance Between Lost And Found, by Kathyrn Holmes. It's about three teens who get lost in the mountains while at a church camp. It's more about the baggage the main character is carrying, but I think it's pretty good.
  22. I have a car, finally! I can't actually drive anywhere yet, because it's a manual, so I have to learn how to drive stick, which is also awesome! My dad and I went to the high school, and I drove around for a while. Only stalled twice, and I managed to smooth out shifting gears a little. Even got to drive on the road a bit!
  23. I have a car!

Well, my dad does.  But I'm the one who will use it the most!

And a dress pattern!  And fabric for it!  And a shirt pattern!  Because pattern sales!

And glasses!  My eyes hurt a little, but having a new prescription is worth it, because I really can tell the difference!

  24. It didn't look that bad to me, but I thought the same thing about the Foundation trailers, so we shall see. I'm also one of those people who tends to shrug off what others might dislike. If it's good, great! If it's bad, oh well. I can't spare the bandwidth to get really mad about something that isn't real.
