  1. So, recently it got confirmed that I'm going on my church mission trip, which is awesome, I went last year and it was the best week of my life. I'm really excited to go again! I actually speak a little Spanish now, so that's nice.
  2. I'm starting The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane tomorrow - it looks pretty interesting. I'm also toying with the idea of a Wheel of Time reread.
  3. Martin leads the way out of the plane and makes a face as soon as he steps out of the shadow. It's very bright. Once he blinks a few times, and turns a slow circle to look around and get his bearings, he points east. "Quick hike that way."
  4. 0, because I've never played. How good are you at hula hooping?
  5. Y'all ever realize something that just makes sense?  Like, 'how did I not understand this, things make so much more sense now!' kind of realization?

Yeah, today I figured out that the reason I always feel like no one likes or cares about me is because quality time is one of my love languages and I haven't spent one-on-one time with anyone in months.

Dude.  How did I not figure this out when I figured out that I need lots of hugs?

*firstly hugs* secondly, who doesn't like or care Kindness? I'll fight them. We care about you!! Never believe otherwise!!

I'll just restate everything Nath said.

  6. Welcome! I really enjoyed some of the side characters in Starsight, so that's what I voted for.
  7. You just triggered every shred of exasperation in my tiny body. 'I plead the fifth' is one of my favorites, though I haven't implemented it in a class yet, at least, not to a teacher. 'Hmmmmm?' is also great.
  8. So, have you decided to move? Oh, that's where that comes from!
  9. I read One Second After yesterday. It was an interesting book. Given my sample pool of 1990s - 2000s fiction, I actually liked it a lot more than I expected to.
  10. Probably those stop-motion animated anti-smoking ones of the 'little lungs in a great big world'. It's not the message that gets me, it's the style of the animation. Ugh. It's just... bleughhh. Or the University of Arizona one where it's just voiceover on a still picture of some thirty-five Brad lookin dude. Have you ever recreated a film hairstyle intentionally?
  11. Hey, that's fine, I did the same thing to my sister once. Talking is really helpful! Honestly? I don't have much advice for that. I was very lucky, in that the guy in question was a very kind, mature person, and so that was never really a worry for me that I had to deal with. Just... trust that it's going to work out. Depending on the person, that might mean giving some time and space to think before gently revisiting the topic. I'm not sure if that helps, but that's sort of what my thoughts are.
  12. I've been there. I told someone I liked him, and yes, it was a little awkward. Stuff like this tends to be awkward, I think. But that's part of the journey, in a way. Overcoming that awkwardness to share your feelings takes bravery. My advice would be to think about what you want to say, and then, whether you wait until June or earlier, just say it.
  13. Happy Easter!  He is risen!

He is risen! In this situation, it is Life AFTER Death instead of life before death

    2. Ixthos

      Ixthos

@Chinkoln and life forever more. Amen! He has risen!

Easter is such a hopeful time of year.

  14. You know, the funny thing is, I was homeschooled through middle school, but it wasn't until I started public school that I started being starved for interaction, however that works. Pretty interesting how different people's experiences differ.
  15. Martin catches Nahl's eye. "Thirty minutes, and I'll have your payment." He turns to the rest of them. "Everyone good?"
  16. That would be most unfortunately true... except I didn't buy them at all. TPBM is contemplating cutting their hair.
  17. I have definitely thought about that since I deleted my Pinterest account last year...
  18. Hola, welcome to the Shard!
  19. Random question for those of you who use references for your art - where do you like to find pictures? I decided to give it a go today because I suck at drawing masculine features, and landed on unsplash, but I don't like the layout of the site very much.
  20. The plot is bad, and some of the casting as well, but I liked the music.
  21. I enjoyed it enough that I bought all four books, and I know my brother likes them - he took my copy so often I got him his own. Fun fact: I'm fairly certain the movie is available for free with ads on YouTube right now.
  22. Three minutes after they touch down, Nahl walks into the cabin, opens the ramp, and says "You can leave now."
  23. Rewatched The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I did not realize how much of an impression this movie made on me when I watched it for the first time.
  24. Nothing immediately springs to mind... With books I don't like, I'm the embodiment of 'I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed'. Have you ever driven stick shift?
  25. Prevaricate is such a good word.
