Hey there everybody.
Here's a fun story about something that happened yesterday. So, a couple weeks ago, when my beloved @DoomslugLuna was doing Anastasia, I was like,
Hmm. Luna's really busy... I should plan and do something to give her a bit of a break.
So I texted my mother and said, "Hey, can you give me Luna's mother's phone number?"
I got the number, and began planning my devious plan.
The plan went as follows: I would go to the store and buy some foodstuffs, then get some blankets from home, and when Luna was least expecting it, kidnap her (used as a way to say pick her up (it's a thing she and I have we are strange we're aware)), and we'd go on a little picnic to get away from the world for a few hours.
Due to scheduling conflicts, it was pushed back a couple times. So much that it was two weeks basically until it actually happened. But, with her mother on my side, it happened yesterday. I appeared at her house and was like,
"Hey. Come on. I've planned something." Of course, she was like, "Oof sorry, I've got homework," and me and her mother, at the same time, were like, "Not anymore you don't."
And she was like ":/"
"Okay."
So she and I went to a park nearby, where we set up next to a pavilion in front of a nice lake, and we just chilled for like 3 hours.
Talked, cuddled, kissed. The whole shebang. It was really nice :]
I also read her the Prelude to the Stormlight Archive, so now she's been exposed to it and can't avoid it no longer and will read it in full soon I swear.
But she was pleasantly surprised and happy and we had a ton of fun so.
Yeah.
I didn't spill my plans here, because well,
She's here. So I couldn't risk her finding out. But yuh.

I was actually asking around today about which school of thought people subscribe to for time travel. They all boil down across various stances between Determinism (assume, for example, a Book of Everything that catalogues all of existence and cannot be incorrect) and Free Will (assume, for example, that us living beings can do stuff as we please). There are three main schools of thought, with several sub-schools:
-
Fixed: Nothing can be changed. Implies there is no Free Will. There are two primary version of this:
- There is no such thing as time travel or timesight. The approach most sci-fi/fantasy authors take to avoid the mess. The Book of Everything is hidden away and ignored.
- Time travel and/or timesight does exist, but all things inevitably weave back to how they were determined. Often seen in greek tragedies of self-fulfilling prophecies. Effectively, the Book of Everything can be read but cannot be changed regardless of how hard you fight against it.
-
Dynamic: Anything can be changed. Implies Free Will.
- Time travel and/or timesight exists and allows changes to occur. The Book of Everything is not absolute/does not exist. This leads to grandfather paradoxes.
-
Multiverse: An awkward compromise.
- There are infinite Books of Everything, each spreading throughout an infinite spectrum of possibilities. Most prominently featured now in Avengers: Endgame.
I, however, subscribe to Ted Chiang's philosophy. If you haven't read it already, I highly recommend Story of Your Life. It's the book that the 2016 film The Arrival is based on, and slaps a gazillion times harder than the movie ever will.
(The movie's still great tho).

Got my High School transcript today....
My GPA is 3.1.
For my school. See, my school is an IB school for grades K-12, and I've been here my entire education. I don't know public school education. And the workload at my school is significantly harder than public schools.
With this in mind, according to the expectations and workload standards of the state school system...
I essentially have a GPA of about 3.9.
I am very cool.

I'm in it, but I'm not going for full diploma. Too much. I've done all three CAS activities I need, I just need to put the reflections in by beginning of May.
I originally was going for full diploma, but it became too much, so I dropped French, after 6 years of taking it, and switched it out for journalism, officially becoming co seated.
But yes. Diploma program
