  1. I can't see Courteth in her current "first draft" form being in the canon version. I'll never know, though.
  2. I wanted to do the opposite: reply twice, in separate messages, to one post.
  3. Courteth was a poorly-drawn character, and you're right that the Courteth/Ryalla relationship was bad. I said above a few times: it isn't fair to judge this against something like Words of Radiance. Brandon knew perfectly well it wasn't a good novel, and has every intention of completely reworking it, the way he did with Way of Kings. EDIT: Coming back to this months later ... Did I mention that "prime" is Latin for "first"? English descendants include primary and primal and primeval. And, Latin not being English, also principal. That was weird. Apparently, even months later, this forum software won't let me reply to @Treamayne again without merging my two replies. Annoying.
  4. Syl is with the Heralds, because of her bond with Kaladin. Their souls are connected. Szeth's spren says this (Chapter 95):
  5. I'm not trying to sound mean here, either, but I think you're looking for reasons to say that those (like me) who disliked aspects of this book are wrong. My perspective is that tastes differ. It's great that you enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean that I am wrong to find parts of it substandard.
  6. By Sunlit Man, Kaladin might actually be dead. Heralds are unaging, but not true immortals. We saw one killed.
  7. Cosmere spoiler quibble: .
  8. Hmm ... and now Kaladin and Syl will forge another new storm on Braize, and send it back to Roshar to expel the Everstorm in turn.
  9. @JustAnotherDarkEyes, all your clues about Elhokar being about to become a Lightweaver are correct, but he didn't quite finish speaking the First Oath, and so, he died.
  10. Did you mean to imply that the Nightwatcher is an Avatar of Cultivation? Because I like that idea. She fled Roshar, but is still there. She can try to counter whatever Avatar of Autonomy shows up.
  11. Huh. So the Tower exists in all three Realms. Presumably there are corridors in Urithuru that you can use to just walk into the Cognitive Realm. (The text doesn't support that, but it's fantasy novel and the magic god-castle extends between the realms. Come on!)
  12. Except @CtrlAltDepressed set their scene in the Cognitive Realm.
  13. The thing is, I'm bored with Kaladin and his endless-repeat-setting playlist of the same damned character arc. Moash's whole purpose is to be the anti-Kaladin, making him extra-boring.
  14. He was the Vessel of Honor briefly. He's a Sliver of Honor, right up until entering the Beyond. That's why he survived so long in the Cognitive Realm after dying.
  15. Secret projects spoiler:
  16. In my version, Moash's death should have been in WaT, and it should have been an anticlimax. He flies in and attacks Sigzil, and Sig just casually stabs him with a Raysium dagger, smashes the Radiant-suppressing fabrial, and Shardblades his soul right out of his body, all in one second. Then everyone forgets about him and the story moves on.
  17. Lift could just eat food and give Vasher Lifelight.
  18. Chapter 4 of WaT: Chapter 21
  19. Get Vasher to edit their memories.
  20. Hm ... Are Ishar and Mishram Slivers of Odium?
  21. Battar took the Oath. If she violates it, Retribution must punish her. And she knows it.
  22. Adonalsium, in WaT, is said to have bravely chosen not to resist its destruction to protect others from the collateral damage that would have been done to the Cosmere if it fought the Dawnshard-wielders.
  23. This is the Cosmere Spoilers area. Yes, Yumi happens much later than WaT.
  24. In Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, Hoid refers to Komashi as "the place where Virtuosity Splintered herself."
