  1. "Okay, then, let me get this straight." He points to Leona, Doc, and himself in turn. "Elsecaller, Bondsmith, Stoneward, you said something about Edgedancers. What else is there?"
  2. "Uh... order?" Fadran frowns. "I can make stuff hard and change things' shapes." Stoneward. Avelyn tells him. You're a Stoneward, idiot. How many times do I gotta tell you this? "According to my personal nuisance, Avleyn, I'm a Stoneward." Fadran gestures to his stonespren. "How many Ideals are there?"
  3. "Hello." Fadran says. "Nice to meetcha." They call him Doc. Avelyn notes. Is he an actual doctor? Like, does he have a PhD in medical science?
  4. Dodge! Avelyn yells at Fadran. Fadran bears right, barely dodging the sword. From his awkward position leaning towards the floor, there is little he can do other than stab upwards at Leona's torso. He does so, earning a tsk-tsk from Avelyn. "I guess that's true."
  5. Nice? Avelyn says to Fadran, scandalized. NICE??? Did she just call your attack NICE?!?!?!?! "I'm not horrible at this kind of thing." Fadran replies. He goes for an overhead swing towards Leona's... well, head. "Just not good either."
  6. Fadran instinctively... blocks his face. "Ow!" He yells. The sword hits his arm hard. Dead dead dead dead dead dead dead. Avelyn says. Stormlight will heal you. Fadran sucks in stormlight, healing the wound, then slashes outwards warrilly. His arm wobbles as he does so, so it's unclear whether he's aiming for Leona's shoulder or head.
  7. Fadran shrugs. "That wasn't the direction my mind was going, but sounds fun!" He readies his arming sword. Fix that stance. Avelyn chastises him. Is that really how you hold a shield? You'll sooner break your own jaw than block an arrow. Fadran readjusts himself. "Come at me." You are soooo dead.
  8. "I tend to follow the 'you don't have to murder them if they don't try to murder you' style, but I guess being armed would be a good idea." He grabs a shield, strapping it to his left arm. "Sword and shield. Nice and easy, but effective nonetheless."
  9. "Nice!" Fadran says, watching her fire the arrows. He immediately makes for the largest hammer he can find. Upon finding a greathammer taller than he is, Fadran sucks in a little stormlight and goes to lift the darned thing. He fails. "Hey Avelyn," He whispers to his spren, "What weapon should I try?" Don't ask me. She replies. I'm just your normal, ordinary, everyday stonespren. In fact, at one point, I'll become a weapon for you. For now... go for the swords? Fadran finds a basic arming sword, testing its weight. He likes it.
  10. "Whoa!" Fadran takes in the surrounding room, his eyes resting on a large sword. "Is that real?" Yes, idiot. Avelyn replies to him personally. You can't kill things with fake swords. Fadran tries out some weapons. None of them seem to fit him.
  11. "Sure. As long as you have a piano there for me to break."
  12. Thanks for the feedback from @Experience and @Ghanderflaffle! I'll do what I can to improve
  13. "I'll tell it to you someday. My stories are only told during the most inconvenient possible situations. It's a gig of mine." He says that. Avelyn whispers to Leona. And he doesn't lie. Be careful whenever you invoke his name; he always has the most irrelevant pieces of information for the most irrelevant moments in time.
  14. "Oh... weapons? I've sort of noticed that words are sharper than blades, but if I have to I can make almost anything a weapon using my hardening magic. My favorite are pencils, but I've used everything from pieces of paper to broken pianos." Avelyn rolls her eyes at this, then takes off to explore the house.
  15. Nods, a little confused, then turns back to Leona. "So... can I get a tour of the house?"
  16. "Oooo...kay. Sounds fun. When do we start?"
  17. Fadran and Avelyn share a glance before the surgebinder chooses to speak. "Fight... what?"
  18. Fadran looks at Nym, seeing her for the first time. "What?" Even Avelyn is a little surprised at the presence of Nym.
  19. Sylphrena's Theme Any Stormlight Book https://flat.io/score/5e8f668e5b4b8b098e7e6927-syphrenas-theme?sharingKey=ab3546eb8ff6ef2ef2db5286eba8ce2849a70f39148883e666d19d88875b42684eab46a0b1d959f97f4bb8f0581d3187bfcacd5e090c583164a02e0f9c5daea4 I threw a bit of this into Kalladin's theme as well (if the link there has updated).
  20. Avelyn just grins mischeviously. Fadran shrugs. "Until I ran into you I thought that they were just pointless words." He looks around. "So... if there are more people like me, then what do we do?"
  21. Avelyn speaks to Onyx. Regular human books, yes. Irrregular human books? Naw, man. You just need to find the forbidden stuff, eh, Fadran? Fadran studies his fork, still talking to Leona. "I said, at one point, that I would stand where others fall." Looks up. "I wonder where those places are?"
  22. Avelyn inspects Onyx up and down as Fadran nods to the spren. So I'm not the only one in a bond with a human? Avelyn says to Fadran. I told you so. Fadran looks at Onyx. "You're an inkspren, aren't you? I've heard about your kind. I've never met one before, though. This is Avelyn." Avelyn manifests herself to Onyx and Leona, taking an exaggerated bow not short of unneccessary flourish. It's a pleasure to meet you. "So if there are more people like me... do they do the same things I can do? You said you can teleport and change things into other things. I can harden things and change things. Are there others who can do different things?" Fadran seems to be warming up to the idea that he's not alone. In fact, he seems pleased, and maybe even a little mischevious.
  23. Fadran takes the cake gratefully. He hasn't eaten in awhile. "I... don't know what those words mean. I came here because... well, my parents said this is where my Uncle Felix lives. I've never met him before. I suppose they knew what I was and sent me to you guys...?" Avelyn sits on Fadran's plate. She has a strange spren. Ask her about her spren. "Hey, what's your spren called?"
  24. Fadran shrugs, looking around. "I... dunno. This is a lot to take in. There are other people like me? I always thought I was just... weird. Different. You say you're an edgedancer, am I an edgedancer? I can make things harder or softer, and I can change the shape of stone." He looks at his shardblade, Avelyn speaking to him telepathically. I told you that there were others. You should honestly listen to your god incarnate more often. What do you want to say, then? Fadran asks her. Go for the chocolate cake. Avelyn says. "And, uh... I'll take chocolate, if you don't mind."
  25. Kaladin's Theme (or, rather, it will be, once I'm done with it). Any Stormlight Book https://flat.io/score/5e8c94e60c63231b3ed6ef79-kaladins-theme?sharingKey=de0da14790baf37ce06a5967a075ccdef4d844e54979f7123d99c54450f1afee7f9d490809b47746adb4d8e1456c5e49c31cbc41eda1f585e9015490ed285e57 I borrowed some of @Spock's "Tien's Theme" to throw in here. I'm not sure how it works yet, so feedback would be nice!
