  1. Fadran shakes his head. "Nah, this is fine. How much is it cost?"
  2. Many thanks! I actually hid that one and made a new one now that I have more understanding of what's going on. It's not super different, but I think I adjusted it to be less OP.
  3. Here's my character. It's all good and not too OP, right?
  4. Alright. I made it so that he knows about other Investituture but never uses them. He's just an Truthwatcher now. As I continuously look through all these posts the more oblivious I realize I am. I call upon the mighty gods of the Alleyverse to HELP ME PLEASE, I'M CONFUSED!!
  5. Fadran smiled. "Good! That treasure wouldn't be worth much if I didn't have to fight for them." With that, his Channelknight soared into his hand like Thor's Hammer (not that Fadran knows anything about that), healing the wound in his arm. He felt his Forgeries grow more vibrant as the Faiden Clusters began to course throug his sword. "I haven't any idea how much longer this fight is going to be, though." "Shake all of reality to its core?" Fadran shakes his head. "Let me tell you how many times I've heard that phrase."
  6. Fadran gave him a look. "So it'd be cool if I just sort of... took the stuff but let you study it first?"
  7. "I mean, a good book is all about suspense, right? And we're just a bunch of words on a topic stream!" Fadran! Icona chastised. What did I tell you about breaking the fourth wall? Fadran sighed. "Fine, I'll take that back." He Forged another connection with the Flow of Time, reversing time to back before he said anything about topic streams. "I mean, a good book is all about suspense, right? Why not real life?"
  8. Fadran did the Mace Windu thing to dodge the attack. "Seems legit enough. It took me a Prime Deity, a Snazzy-looking Necromancer, a grain-based warrior, an entire library of ancient tomes, and one Fire Emblem game to find my way here. I also got some information from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but I could've found this place without it." Fadran's arm started to throb, and he desperately felt at his Channelblade; great, it had reached Roshar, and it wouldn't take long for it to find him. "Did your books, prophecy, dead god, dragons, pattern, and backwards dog tell you what was in that chest? Because nothing I found said anything about the contents."
  9. You know, I was visiting this place called Cheecago the other day, and they had this amazing drink called Root Beer there. Kind of like carbonated ginger water. Do you think you could throw that together?
  10. Fadran steps inside. Is this the third or fourth roleplay you've found yourself in? Icona asked him. "Fourth, I think." Fadran replies. "Knights next Door, I'm Bored, the Scholar's Guild, and this one." Impressive. Are you active or just insecure? "A mixture of both, probably." Fadran looks around. "Though I suggest we stop breaking the fourth wall when we're actually in an RP, mmkay?" Fair enough. Icona falls silent. Fadran clears his throat. "What would it take to get a Highmaster Arcane Mage, Traveling Merchant, Iconan Channelknight a drink around here?"
  11. Fadran jerked back his hand, but wasn't quick enough to fully escape the sword, receiving a nasty jagged cut along his forearm. He felt his connection with his Channelblade dwindle, but he maintained its hold. He could feel it soaring through the Omniverse now; right next door the to the Alleyverse, if he was correct. After it took a quick trip through the Cosmere, it should only take a few seconds before it reached him here on this island, right? "So, sir Gear man," Fadran said, dodging his attacks, "what alerted you to the location of this treasure? A god? That cat?"
  12. Fadran, who wasn't particularly fond of losing a duel to a kitty-cat, Forged a connection to the Flow of Time itself. He slowed time around him, taking a step to the left and watching the cat move sluggishly through the air to where he had been standing just seconds before. With a grunt, sweat appearing on his bow, he felt the Flow of Time protest against his hold and break free. The cat soared through the air at regular speed once again, landing in the sand with confusion. Fadran dismissed his Shardblade, then held out his hand to the air, feeling at his Channelblade, which was... where, exactly? All the way back in Ivinan? This might take a hot minute. He thought to himself with a sigh.
  13. "Ow, hey!" Fadran, unable to Forge connections to each of the raindrops, opted to create a wind shield above his head. "Hey, Master Omnipotent sir, I get it that you want to further this battle, but is all this flourish really necessary? I've got enough to worry about without your lightning. Like that cat, for instance!"
  14. Fadran spared himself a peephole to look out, then watched Lalex leave. He frowned, but, expecting a retaliation, kept the sand shield up. My, my, Icona called from above, are you seriously hiding from a cat? "A little bit," Fadran admitted, "some prophecy predicted this moment or summat; I don't suppose you could help me out?" You know I'm not supposed to interfere. "I don't care if you don't want to interfere. I saved your sorry skin during the Battle of the Iconar Collective, and you're a freaking god! You owe me one." I owe you nothing. I granted you power in return for your services. Fadran growled, then released his hold on the sand and leapt away from Dr. Gears.
  15. "Whoa!" Fadran yelped, falling down onto one of his hands and hitting the sand, strengthening his Forgery with the sand. He quickly created a wall of the sand to deflect the stick away from him and his second enemy, Dr. Gears. Suddenly realizing that his other enemy was just as active as Dr. Gears, he placed a second wall between him and the... ah, cat. He encased himself entirely in the hardened sand, though he knew that such brittle stone could only stand so long against such capable enemies. "Hey, can I get a little help down here?" Fadran called to Icona. "I don't suppose you could grant me a little bit of that 'divine smite' power that you keep talking about, would you? I'm in a bit of a tight spot and I didn't stretch this morning."
  16. Fadran smiled at Lalex. "I haven't seen that position for years!" He pushed Lalex's stick backwards, then blasted both Dr. Gears and Lalex away with a burst of wind. "But you haven't faced a Highmaster Arcane Mage Traveling Merchant Iconan Channelknight before, have you?"
  17. Fadran shrugged. "Okay." He began to run for Dr. Gears, Forging a connection to the sand beneath his feet with Earth Arcana. With a mighty battle cry, the sand hardened beneath his feet, and a column of the granules launched him into the air. He spun around through the skies, Nathrangking's winds buffeting him about like a child's toy. Eyes screwed in concentration, he Forged a connection to the air, stilling the winds around him. He raised his sword, prepared to fell Dr. Gears in one swift stroke.
  18. Fadran set down the chest in the sand, then looked about, scanning his two foes. "You should know that I don't take lightly to thieves... not that I'm accusing any of you, but we are dueling (trueling?) honorably, correct?"
  19. Behold! My Grainmarshalls! Surges of Gravitation and Cohesion. Spren: Skyeels. Oaths: 1: Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before pancakes (DESTINATION! BEGONE, LOPEN) 2: I will free those who cannot be freed 3: I will search for freedom in others 4: I will find my own freedom 5: I am freedom I was thinking of how cool it would be to change the shapes of things but also Lash them wherever, which gave me the idea of freedom. Basically, a Grainmarshall will originally free others from bonds (either physical, cognitive, or spiritual), but they must learn the nature of freedom in others, as some people have different ideas of freedom, and some people are even content not being freed. By the fourth ideal, a Grainmarshall must learn to allow others to find freedom for themselves, and by the fifth they've found their own freedom in a very Elsecaller-y way.
  20. Fadran looked around in amusement. "Ah, so you're one of those duelists! It's been awhile since I've dueled your kind." He mirrored Dr. Gears's movements, hoping to appease the spirits. "Do you want to go first, or shall I?"
  21. Fadran looked up. "A duel? I'm down." He held his hand to the side of his body, wondering what sword he should summon. He opted for a Shardblade; he would retrieve his Channelblade later if things turned south. After ten heartbeats, his Shardblade appeared in his hands. "I don't know if I can beat you, so I'll settle for a tie."
  22. Fadran walked down the seashore, scanning the beach. He needed to find that treasure... where could it be? "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." he said under his breath. With a start, he saw a section of uneven sand. Picking up his pace, he ran forward and started digging. He hit wood, then began digging around the sand and pulling up the chest. "Hello beautiful."
  23. By planting, cultivating, and harvesting plants, you can make things happen. The plant type that you're growing has certain powers associated with it, and by cultivating it in certain ways, you can add modifiers to that power. To use those powers, you must keep the plant near you; the growth of the plant releases magical energy that grants you the powers. Plant types: Tree: You can subconsciously detect any life form within ten feet of you. Bush: You can sense strong emotions from another person within ten feet of you. Grass: You can control the air around you in a five-foot sphere. Flower: You can attach yourself to any solid surface that you're touching. Weed: You can leech the life force of any life form that you touch. Cultivation Modifiers: Watering: Slightly increases Magical Energy release of the plant. Soil Loosening: Increases the range of certain plant powers (Trees, bushes, and grass all gain an extra five feet). Fertilizing: Increases the number of targets allowed for certain plant powers (Flowers and Weeds each gain one extra life form that you can touch). Pruning: Increases power effectiveness (Life Form detection and Emotion sensing becomes more vibrant, you can control the air better, you become more attached to a solid surface, or you leech out life force at a quicker rate). Edit: Well.... dang it. I guess I was late. Edit to that edit: Oh wait, no I'm not. Nobody did agriculture (huh). Edit to that edit to that edit: Oh wait, I am. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!? Also @SirWolfe I may or may not steal your idea of writing a study about various peoples to describe my magic systems later on. Hopefully you'll view such as an honor of inspiring another person and not as a dishonor of being plaigarised.
