    Quendi blinked. "I see." "This one's... honestly, I need to fix all these. I'm way out of order." Vance cleared his throat. "So the whole universe as we know it is split up into a number of distinct dimensions. You've got here, the Physical; you've got the Soul realm, where dead people go and such; and a few others in between, like the astral realm and elemental planes. But turns out it's not so simple as Dimension One, Dimension Two, Dimension Three: there's a whole bunch in between." He stacked his hands on top of each other to demonstrate. "Between one and two you technically have an infinite amount of infinitely tiny planes: perfectly two-dimensional spaces with absolutely no concept of up or down. Billions can coexist on top of each other and never know about their neighbors because of that. Given that, it stands to reason that the same can occur for three-dimensional spaces, like the kind we live in here. They're layered on top of each other in a four-dimensional way, which we can't really comprehend, but can use anyways. "All you have to do - in theory, anyways - is expand your magical senses to these parallel worlds and kind of tune into them, per say. You then effectively shift which layer you exist on." Vance dropped his hands. "Make sense?"

    The barb deflected it like a stick on stone, retracting away before zipping out back where E;la had struck. It missed, given her cover. "What is that thing?" Kaeni shouted.

    Me updates:

    • I've been in bed literally all day because I just got my covid booster and boy does that sucker punch. (Heh. Geddit - sucker punch)
    • While in bed literally all day I watched an insane amount of Grian's Hermitcraft compilations (all of his Season 6 "Best Bits") and continued my 100% Hollow Knight Steel Soul speedrun (currently at about 6 hours and over 77%)
    • What's the deal with waiting for the last second to get people christmas presents? Seriously, I have no idea what to get my friends.

      once for a friends birthday i bought him a massive can of beans accompanied with the most irrelevant hallmark card i could find (it was like “i’m sorry for the loss of your child” or something. kinda dark but being completely out of context made it actually so funny)
