  1. "And all of us. Especially if we're going to be going up against other witches like that one again."
  2. "Sure did. We tried it out, too. For now I put a temporary seal over it using those runes you found, so we won't be constantly activating it." Vance tapped the stone at the top. "It's an aether stone. Pure, condensed magical energy. This right here is probably worth several thousand crys; more if you find the right buyer. What it's really useful for, though, is providing you with power to use in your spellcasting."
  3. "Sure. I'll probably take Kealie with me, so you can work with Antin." Vance proffered the staff he'd found to Quest. "On another note, do you happen to know what this is?"
  4. "The town. A couple of us will stay here while the rest go and get it. It'll be a bit of a ride to get to Orteo, but we should get there soon enough - and with time to spare before the Triluminescence, I might add."
  5. "A few days' travel. If we can rent a wagon or a carriage or something, we can probably take a lot of the interesting things back with us. From there we can get them all to my place in Orteo."
  6. “Well take your time. I’ll get some food ready.” Vance made a mental note of all their leftover supplies. “We might want to get leaving for town sooner or later. I doubt we’ll be able to take everything we find with us on our backs alone.”
  7. “Really? You seemed pretty spry while we were fighting.”
  8. A sigh of relief. Vance dropped his head, a little exhausted himself. ”We’re actually out of stew,” he whispered to Quest. “I didn’t know how to break it to her.” @Mr. Misting
  9. “Get some sleep, Kealie. It’s just leftovers tonight; you’re not missing out on anything.”
  10. “Your power doesn’t primarily destroy and create; where it can, it replaces. Moving the tree was just that, producing no additional matter or form. That’s why you were still up and at it when the bunny attacked too. Maybe it was a complicated organism, but all you really did was change the form of the dorgrin. That’s why it was as large as it was and why it could breathe fire.” Vance decided to sit down beside her. Hopefully by this point she’d be groggy enough to have forgotten her earlier panic, but the sound of actual fear in her voice hadn’t so readily left his mind yet. He told himself it was to comfort Kealie, but deep down he was aware that it was really himself that he was trying to console. ”That window, however, was directly imbued with magic. To remove a spell like that normally you’d have to unbind it bit by bit- likely over the course of several hours. Ocumeritation can’t very well do that on its own because it’s also just magic and nothing more. To destroy that spell so quickly would require nothing less than an incredible burst of magic.” He looked down at her and smiled. “You’re a lot stronger than you think. Remember that.”
  11. “Yuh-huh. You wanna know why you could move a tree no problem but get knocked out by disarming a window trap?”
  12. “Must’ve been some trap on that window…” he knelt down beside Kealie and placed a hand on her forehead. No fever, at the very least. “But you’ll be fine.”
  13. Vance was over not after long, having jogged the whole distance to the side of the house. “Goodness, what happened to you?”
  14. “Get outside before you pass out. Last thing we want is to have to drag you out a broken window.”
  15. “Even worse. I’d bet that’s rigged to explode or something.”
  16. “This door isn’t going to open by any feasible amount of force,” Vance replied, placing his hand on it. “Otherwise there wouldn’t be any point in keeping you alive while you’re locked in. We’re going to have to find another way through.”
  17. Kaeni stared. Move, you coward! Flame enveloped her, spreading all across her body in a blazing aura. It filled her heart with a burning fury, running through her veins and turning her eyes to a hot orange. The flame condensed around her hands and feet, flowing from her chest outwards. With her soul ablaze, Kaeni darted towards the glengal and joined the fight. @Szeth_Pancakes @Tani @The Wandering Wizard
