  1. “Almost there.” The adventurer walks with a careful stride, eyes scanning the forest around for danger. “And just so we’re clear, I can take the sword after we beat those evil guys, right? I promise not to use it for nefarious purposes.”
  2. Now without hands, Mim begins to wonder if perhaps he should’ve waited a few more days before challenging such an opponent. “How about we call it a draw?” Nin frowned. “Really? The old man’s dead? I’m sure he liked that. He always wanted to go out in battle. Considering his skills, it was always a risk that he’d die of old age first.”
  3. Seeing that it wasn’t Non back for another rematch, Nin waved and said hello. “Have you seen my new apprentice? I’ve only had him for a few days and he keeps running off.”
  4. The adventurer leads the group through a dense forest of ash-grey trees with leaves the color of blood. ”I think the sword’s influence is strongest about a mile or two ahead this way. By the way, do any of you happen to know anything about the person weilding the sword?”
  5. If I were to die in a year I’d jump from the Empire State Building without a parachute, swim down to see the titanic, and I might even go spelunking.
  6. I eat rye, then grab the sandwich.
  7. So they all died, and rhyming died with them. Permanently.
  8. In five years I will have over 100,000 posts on TLT.
  9. If I were to die in a year I’d get life insurance, leave the shard after writing a goodbye post or two, and start focusing on what’s actually important in my life.
  10. "Very well. We go this way." The adventurer leaps off of a very small cliff and skids to the bottom, then begins walking towards a distant landmark.
  11. "You have my thanks." The adventurer half-shakes his head, then gestures in a general direction. "Not precisely, but I believe I may be able to lead you to it. Or at least to the place where the influence of that strange nothingness is strongest."
  12. The adventurer nods, face becoming more serious. “Indeed. That weapon is far too dangerous to leave in the wrong hands. I assume you’re here to confront those who are using it? Please allow me to join you.”
  13. “That’s the sword’s influence, or more precisely that’s the influence of the person using the sword. Quite a cool weapon to allow this to be possible, wouldn’t you say?”
  14. “You can’t feel it?” The adventurer states off into the distance, eyes unfocused. “The chaos? The breakdown of the normal laws of reality? Reminds me of home, almost.”
  15. The adventurer hauled himself up off the ground on his own, the grabbed Roy’s extended hand and shook it. ”As I was saying, nice to meet you Roy. Are you all here to get the cool sword too?”
  16. “Nice to meet you as well Ro-“ the adventurer cut off as he was knocked off-balance, falling face first into the mystery ground.
  17. The adventurer continued staring at whatever dramatic scenery there was to stare at as he spoke. “My name? I’m afraid I can’t tell you. It’d cause all kinds of problems.”
  18. On the other side of the portal stood a brave adventurer, striking a dramatic pose as he looked over the as-yet undefined universe.
  19. Fortunately, Nonagon had taught him the amazing blood-staunching technique that he’d used in his close-fought battle against Nin. — some time ago — Nonagon screamed in agony as Nin’s blade hit him in the shoulder, blood spewing from the wound. He collapsed to the ground holding his shoulder, the battle over in a single blow. A shadow loomed over him, and he looked up through tears of pain to see Nin the great ninja, his most hated enemy. “Here, let me show you something that will help with that wound.” — Thus ended the first duel of Nin and Nonagon — Mim’s severed wrist stopped bleeding, and he pulled a dagger out with his remaining hand, glad that Nonagon was so incredible. Although he was certain that this was be a rather basic technique, as it was the only one of his secret master’s techniques that he’d been able to learn so far.
  20. Mim tripped while attempting to do another lunge.
  21. (This Nerdy was a clone of the real Nerdy who’d taken over the fight to avoid godmodding problems)
  22. Her Shardblade could’ve shrunk down to let her use it. She was a child after all.
  23. (But enough about that. We should not get back to the story of Nin and Nonagon’s great battle, the one we definitely aren’t going to tell you about)
  24. (This was of course a misconception as it was Nin's master that had been consumed by Avatar, not Nin himself)
  25. (It was an embarrassing tale, one that we shan’t tell he- Several years ago: Two figures stood facing each other atop a plateau. Around them raged a fierce thunderstorm, with a wind that threatened to blow them over the edge and rain that fell like knives. One figure raised a fist angrily and shouted towards the other. “NIN! You good-for-nothing useless old fool! How dare you steal my apprentice!” The response was slow in coming, and when it did come it was calm, spoken in a low voice that somehow carried over the sound of the storm. ”I did not steal her. She decided to leave you of her own free will.”
