  1. The old man frowned, pulling the dart out and examining it before toppling over.
  2. “Yes I can. Follow me.” The old man began walking slowly towards the direction of the sun.
  3. “Indeed. I do know the way to the forest, however.”
  4. The crumbs disappeared as the invisible rabbit apparently licked its face.
  5. The old man shrugged. “No idea. My memories are foggy. I know we went to the forest, and I know how to get there, but when my friends and I failed… something happened to us. I can’t remember much of what happened in the forest. I don’t even know if that’s where we failed.”
  6. “Of course. I’ve been there, long ago when I quested for the spear.”
  7. “There exists something that is speaking to us, and the source of that speech is you.”
  8. "No. That's an invisible person." They're quite agile invisible rabbits.
  9. "Hamsters? What a ridiculous idea. Hamsters are hardly intelligent enough to learn to follow instructions. Besides, they have rather unfortunate tendencies towards hemalurgy. No, I shepherd a herd of invisible rabbits."
  10. Something else poked his foot. It felt like a rather small paw.
  11. "Apologies. I've tried my best to train them not to steal food or scare people, but they're difficult sometimes."
  12. “Well, things on the outside of them sometimes don’t turn invisible. The magic is slightly inconsistent, I will admit, but food crumbs usually stay visible, especially when it’s stolen food.”
  13. The old man frowned disapprovingly at some muffin crumbs that seemed to be hovering a few inches off the ground. “Sorry about that. They can be rather mischievous. I hope Atkins didn’t frighten you too badly.”
  14. The thing leapt off of him. on the ground, the muffin disappeared almost instantly, as if set upon by a horde of voracious beasts.
  15. The thing (which was rather small and very furry) used the opportunity to latch onto Shoe’s arm, from where it scrambled across his shoulders, ran down his other arm, and started nibbling on Shoe’s muffin.
  16. The invisible thing hung on to his leg, pausing only for a moment before continuing upwards.
  17. Something invisible began attempting to climb Shoe’s leg.
  18. “Apologies. They’re still a little upset with you people for destroying their bridge.”
  19. The old man stands up and waves a hand, gently dumping the three adventurers onto the ground. “Sounds like we need to go to the forests of Kell, doesn’t it?”
  20. Fortunately, the old man reacted quickly, waving his staff, and they all hit an invisible barrier. It feels surprisingly fluffy.
  21. The old man rapped his staff against the ceiling, then sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes. A force slammed against the ceiling, pushing as if several invisible pistons of incredible strength were shoving it upwards.
  22. Correct, I think. They don’t know each other very well. ”Well?” Subversion continued flying along beside Falvan. “You seem to have gone insane, and it’s a rare thing that can drive a Narrator insane.” — The woman with no eyes struggles to her feet. “I am the one who is worthy of the spear! I led a quest to gain it long ago, but was betrayed by my fellow adventurers and left here, blinded and unable to read the murals I needed to progress in the quest.”
  23. The woman stood up, mouth twisting in anger, and ran at Shoe, striking relentlessly with her remaining axe. "None will claim the spear! It is I who deserve it, and only I!" Subversion decided to make her appearance, forming out of a shower of sparks next to Falvan. "Mind telling me what happened to you?" -- Back in the tower, the old man pointed his staff and three of the tiger skeletons were suddenly dragged to the ground by some invisible force and held there immobile.
