  1. The General crawled her way along TP's wing and onto his back. "By the stars we rise above, what is this beast made of?" She locked her gaze on Selppaenip. "Surrender the Great Wizard!" She charged, maces swinging. "Well apprentice, it looks like you'll have the opportunity to try." ... glanced at the battlefield, then froze. He rushed over to TP's head and shouted down to him in a very normal voice. "TP! You must change direction! That volcano is a stronghold of the Brave Adventurers. They'll capture us for sure if we get close to it!" The Dreamsmith took a deep breath pulled out a pair of daggers and attached them to his belt, swung a cloak around his shoulders, and knocked politely on the door.
  2. *clears throat* Bacon the Bard, Has a head so hard His brains must be made of lard.
  3. Hey at least he hasn’t left the shard for 2 weeks right after starting a giant plot with basically everyone active on the thread involved in it.
  4. The General's swing knocked Gail's weapon aside, barely slowing in its trajectory. The Silent Hero stubbornly refused to be located, but the Valiant One stalked towards Platypus. "No time for a trial? No time for justice?" His eyes burned with anger. "The Great Wizard was allowed to come. Yes, the Brave Adventurer tried to keep him in the dark about the meeting. But I informed him. Because like the fool I was I assumed he'd come defend himself. Instead, he sent spies who disrupted the meeting and attacked us. The Brave Adventurer has it out for him, I'll admit that. But the hard evidence he presented, and more pressingly the evidence presented by the Wise Scholar, demand an explanation. Since the Great Wizard refuses to give that explanation, we will capture him and bring him to trial. And you will not stop us from seeing justice done." The ash-covered rabbits leapt for Hacob's throat, swarming from all sides. [Kill him before the great one chains us again!] "Perhaps." ...'s expression was unreadable. "Do you think you could disarm her?" The General crashed into the wing with incredible velocity, mace meeting it with a crack and a flash of light. The Dreamsmith smiled creakily. "How did I come into being? There are many ways I could answer that question, but I'll keep it relatively simple. I found myself trapped in this world with nothing to do, and I decided to take the opportunity to better my forging skills. Speaking of forging, if you would take a message back to your associates, I would love the opportunity to offer my services to an Enuller. It would be a unique challenge." He turned from the Enuller and walked to the door, raising a hand to knock. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to see if Onyx is receiving visitors."
  5. The Valiant One gripped his dagger tightly, looking like he wanted to ram it into Platypus's chest. "If you have information that exonerates the Great Wizard, then testify at the trial. For now, don't interfere. We have more than enough cause to arrest and try him, and I'm afraid you can't get rid of an order of the council to arrest a fugitive simply by shouting about evidence that you claim to have procured." The rabbits began moved softly, the vibrations in the ground barely perceptible even to Hacob's senses as they stalked closer. "The General is a wily foe. And powerful." ... raised a finger. "But any foe can be defeated, if you have information about them and think normally. She is one of the most powerful shapeshifters of her kind, as you can see, and she wields the maces of the Four Ghanderflaffle kings. One can disrupt Narration and other related abilities, one gives her mastery over the elements, one absorbs energy from her opponents, and the last... I do not know what the last mace does. It is a secret known only to Ghanderflaffles. So, given this information, what do you think we should do?" The lightning was absorbed into one of the General's maces harmlessly, and she continued her swing towards TP's wing. "I must be careful in what I say." The Dreamsmith stepped between two overgrown stone pillars, and suddenly they were standing in a desert. In the distance, a tower loomed. He began walking at a precise angle just 7 degrees off of the tower. "If any of those mentioned in the prophecy should come to prominence and importance, then they must be watched. I am not saying this solely to you, understand? These words are not solely for your benefit. Others hear them, and of others I must be wary. But these words are for you and yours alone." The Dreamsmith handed the Enuller a folded note sealed with a drop of wax. "Do not read this here. Read it only when you are certain that no one is paying attention. If a whisper of the information in this note gets into the wrong hands, all that you have worked for could be doomed." A wall was before them, with a door set in it. rolling up his map, the Dreamsmith faced the Enuller. "Our ways must part here. If you have any further inquiries, speak them quickly."
  6. "Nonsense. Normal people should never give up hope." ... seemed to appear out of nowhere next to Qodi. "What's wrong with your rabbit?" The General rocketed in close, swinging a mace for one of TP's wings. "So is the General. I think we should keep our distance if possible. That jetpack will run out of fuel eventually." The Dreamsmith didn't answer immediately. He walked through the forest, a reminiscent smile on his face. "You will know they are about to appear when darkness rises and light rises to meet it. In the darkest hour or brightest day the Blades will appear."
  7. The General swung a mace, and a net made from forking lightning shot towards TP. "I will not allow you to escape!" The Great Wizard shook his head. "No. I need to be close to them in order to do anything." "I will answer your questions if I can. What is it you want to know about them?" The Dreamsmith rolled up the map, nodding, and stood. "I hope you don't mind if we walk while you interview me. My quest is rather urgent." He set off into the forest.
  8. That was Jilu. They were invisible before she transformed them. The General was outmatched, even her peerless shapeshifting abilities unable to keep up with TP. Fortunately, Ghanderflaffles were known for more than shapeshifting. The General rocketed past TP, propelled by the a jetpack strapped with the high-power propulsion engines that were commonly used by Ghanderflaffles to raise their empire. "Stop now! There is no escape for you!" "My rabbits." The Great Wizard's face was very pale now. "The majority of the rabbits I had brought here are gone. They are somewhere very far from here. And the spells chaining them are failing." Mist enveloped the enuller. The enuller appeared in a forest filled with birdsong. The Dreamsmith sat on a log nearby, idly cracking peanuts with his metal jaw as he attempted to make sense of a map. He glanced up at the enuller's appearance. "You're here because of the Plotblades?"
  9. "Regardless, they're dead! Killed by those you called friends! We can end this witho-" Valiant's words trailed off and became inaudible as Nogard was carried off by TP. The General accelerated as well, continuing to close the distance between her and TP. The red rabbits who had been stalking the Silent Hero noticed Platypus, then froze, crimson eyes locked on his face. [He is the tastiest one. He is... he is Light. we must eat him. Eat the Light. Consume the Light. Destroy the Light.] Their eyes became pitch black pits of pure darkness. They moved towards Platypus as one, and a faint dark mist began to rise around them. "The rabbits. They're breaking free. Corrupting the spells I placed upon them." The Great Wizard's eyes focused. "What did you fools feed them? Their suppression should not have needed renewal for another month!" Strain etched his expression suddenly, and a wave of light shot out from him. The red rabbits froze as the light hit them. The darkness in their eyes faded, and they slumped into unconsciousness. Back on TP's back, the Great Wizard relaxed, as much as he could while still completely immobilized by the bonds he'd been tied in. "I have suppressed them for the moment. I'll have to completely redo the protections later to be safe, but I acted in time to prevent them from breaking from my control." A moment later, all the tension was back. "Where are the rest of them?" -- The Valiant One glared at Platypus. "We're trying to end this! We just want the Great Wizard in custody before he can claim the Blades for himself!" The rabbits were knocked backwards, but then something strange happened. Instead of dissipating, the energy swirled around the invisible rabbits, darkening and flowing into them. [This is tasty! Give us more!] Stronger and larger than before, the rabbits attacked once again. "Ah." Omen's smoky form briefly coalesced into a half-decayed corpse in ruined clothing, then broke apart into indistinct shapes that looked like screaming faces. "If you wish only information, I can still bring you to the Dreamsmith. It will be slightly more dangerous for you, as you will not have the benefit of the protections woven into the forge, but you are far from powerless, and I do not believe the Dreamsmith is anywhere very dangerous at the moment." A grey hand emerged from the smoke. "Do you wish to proceed?"
  10. [Oh, in that case, thank you. We will test if your are tasty later then.] The red rabbits turned and began stalking towards the Silent Hero.
  11. [He is?] The rabbits turned as one to stare at the Silent Hero. [Are you sure?]
  12. The rabbits shied away from the light for a moment, then ravenously charged towards Hacob. [Tasty one! Give us the tasty thing!] They leapt for him from all sides, sharp teeth seeking his blood. The Silent Hero continued launching arrows from his silver bow, frustrated at the apparent lack of effect on TP. He did not appear to notice Platypus. The red rabbits continued towards Gail, eyes beginning to glow with red light. Their massive claws left grooves in the ground as they hopped in her direction. [Are you tasty? We desire tasty things.] Subversion sent a message back. "You really believe him to be innocent? Look what he led you to! Look what your companions are doing! We tried to capture you, and you respond by slaughtering adventurers left and right!" The Valiant One took a step towards Nogard, dagger held in a reverse grip. "If the Great Wizard really was trying to find the Blades to keep them safe, then why wouldn't he trust the rest of us? Why wouldn't he have trusted me? He trained me for years, practically raised me! And the others are no less trustworthy. If he truly had good intentions, then he should have told at least some of the council what he was doing." Anger filled his face, but he forced it down and continued. "I swear to you by all the honor that I have left, if you surrender I will ensure that your trial is fair. Please, even if you don't trust the Brave Adventurer, trust me." "Get Nogard first! I can handle myself." More arrows flew, exploding in bursts of magical ice as they landed. The General closed in on TP, maces crackling with energy. "Waking up..." The Great Wizard mumbled softly. "They're... waking up. Must... must stop them." His eyes slowly opened, but they were unfocused. "He did not need to. My connection to him allows me to sense him wherever he goes. The Dreamsmith is... elsewhere." Omen swirled ominously. "Is your need urgent?"
  13. No further arrows followed, TP drawing the Silent Hero's attention away from Gail. But several of the red rabbits began moving in her direction, drawn by the smell of blood.
  14. An arrow shot from cover, arcing towards Gail's chest. At the taste of her blood, the rabbits became even more aggressive. [It is tasty! Come, eat the tasty stuff!] More blood-red rabbits swarmed towards Jilu, thirsting for blood. The Valiant one edged closer, eying Nogard's spear. "No, you want that traitor to be free! I can believe that he has deceived you with his lies, as he deceived me and all the rest of the adventurers, but you must see through him. Surrender here, and I promise that you will receive a fair trial and, if you truly were deceived into your actions, will be set free." "Watch out!" Subversion shouted, waving her Narrationblade to ward TP away. Nearby, the still unseen Silent Hero shot a flurry of arrows, aiming to take out TP's wings. The Great Wizard mumbled something incoherent, eyes remaining closed. Omen coalesced in front of the enuller, his unreal features mostly hidden by the shadows of the cavern. "I am afraid that the Dreamsmith is not in his forge at present."
  15. Forcing the rabbit's jaws open proved impossible as they bit down with incredible force, attempting to crush Jilu's clawed hands.
  16. The rabbits turned out to be wholly invulnerable to her biting. [She bites? We can bite back.] the red rabbits bared extremely sharp and long teeth and began prowling toward Jilu. [Perhaps she will be tasty.]
  17. The red rabbits, now visible for the first time, seemed to have rather large canines. Some turned towards Jilu, but most continued chasing Hacob. [Why should we listen? We want tasty things, and he gives us very tasty things when we nibble him.]
  18. The Valiant One struggled to his feet and attempted to pull his sword free of the ground. It was stuck fast, so he pulled out a knife instead. "You won't get past me you villain. You won't free him!" The General sprouted feathery wings and took off after TP and the Great Wizard. Subversion quickly reset her nose and splinted it. Then she summoned her Narrationblade back to her hand and dashed towards Nogard. What in the world is going on with those rabbits? Distracted by the malevolent mass that was following Hacob on the ground, she barely managed to react as something moved in the corner of her eye, ducking an instant before a silver arrow would have imbedded itself in her head. She spun, Narrationblade forming into a shield that blocked two more arrows sent from the Silent Hero. Before she could respond, the SH vanished into some tall grass, seeking softer targets. Great. Now I have to worry about Nogard getting sniped as well. After Selppaenip dropped on TP, Hacob had only the briefest moment's warning from a surge of air currents before the rabbits hit him. [Tasty one thought he could get away by flying!] -- The Dreamsmith sat in his smithy. "Oh," he said softly. "This is odd. I'm still here? I'm not just in the background like I usually am." He looked around the empty forge room. "No one is seeking me out, no one is here. And yet I remain." He stood from his forge and walked to a side room. "There must be a reason for this." He came out of the room with a small sack slung over his shoulder, wearing a tunic and "Perhaps I am needed for more than just forging this time." With that, he opened his front door and walked out.
  19. Close. Invisible Rabbit Sign Language. The rabbits paused. [More tasty things? We like the tasty things.] signed one. Another signed more fiercely [No, they want to free him! why would we help free him? When he is dead, we will be free!] The other rabbits bobbed their fluffy unseeable heads in agreement and chanted in IRSL [Free! Free!] [Free to eat!] [Free to feast!] [Free to consume all tasty things!] One rabbit signed above the silent hubbub. [We start with him. He gave us the tasty thing when we nibbled his toes. What will he give us when we nibble the rest of him, I wonder?] Hacob felt more tremors in the ground, and realized that he was surrounded. The invisible rabbits began slowly ambling towards him. The explosion of air did not notice ..., and so it passed over him without effect. The Silent Hero managed to keep his feet, barely stumbling from the force of the explosion. The Valiant One was sent rolling forwards to land in a heap in front of Nogard, sword planted in the ground beside him. The General shouted, growing dozens of spikes to shoot into the ground and slow her momentum as she skidded away from TP. Her maces flashed as she spun, eyes following the unconscious Great Wizard's trajectory. Growing more spikes, she started rolling to intercept him. By sheer unfortunate chance, Subversion's Narrationblade just happened to be angled such that when Hacob hit her, it lodged itself in his spine. Subversion smiled slightly-in fully genuine regret and horror, of course-as she fell. The rabbits smelled Hacob's pain. And they hungered for it. The explosion gave him distance, but he could feel more and more rabbits gathering, drawn by the common desire for tasty things.
  20. The rabbits quietly communicated with one another in IRSL. [This is quite tasty] one signed. [Yes, very tasty. I wonder how we can get more?] signed another. [It came from the stupid one over there, when I nibbled him.] The rabbit that had chewed on Hacob pointed at him. [We should nibble him more. Maybe it will give us more of the tasty stuff.] The other rabbits all bobbed their heads in assent, then moved towards Hacob with malicious (but still invisible) intent. by the way, the pen may or may not be capable of filling out paperwork on its own if left unattended. "I-well, I guess you're right. I just... don't like being hasty." Subversion summoned her Narrationblade. The Silent Hero and the Valiant One stopped a dozen paces in front of the Selppaenip. "Come no further!" Shouted the Valiant One. "We do not wish to fight you here." "So you cannot leave? Perhaps, you cannot even interfere with things outside of the unreal realm without danger?" The Brave Adventurer's eyes gleamed. "That is... not expected." I'm going to assume you meant TP The General rushed towards TP, growing several extra-long limbs that stretched out to grab the Great Wizard.
  21. The pain fluttered to the ground, and several rabbits went to investigatively taste it. They found it quite tasty.
  22. The rabbit bit this foot as well, angry at being kicked.
  23. Subversion and ... hurried after them. "Wait!" Called Subversion. "That's the General and the Silent Hero! You can't just run in!" The General noticed the approaching group as if she had eyes on the back of her head (she did) and spun to meet them. "Silent, Valiant, hold them off! I'll get the Wizard, and then we retreat." "Consequences? What consequences do you speak of?" Several invisible rabbits nibbled at grass around TP, aimless with their master unconscious. Hacob felt a sharp pain in one foot as an invisible rabbit mistook his shoe for a tuft of clover. "I... should be able to." The Dreamsmith's tone was uncertain. "I have little direct experience with Plotblades, but I have reason to believe that such a feat is within my capabilities. However..." He furrowed his brow. "It is not important. Retrieve the Blades quickly, Platypus. The truth of the Blades will not stay hidden forever. Indeed, the hour of secrecy may end very soon." A door was present in the wall behind Platypus that had not been there a moment earlier. "It is time you left this place. I leave you with this final warning: In my letters to the Great Wizard, I did not mean to imply that he was trying to claim the Blades for his own gain. I do not know why I worded the letters as I did. I cannot explain my actions, unless... unless something manipulated them."
  24. Subversion reached the stone and touched it, immediately causing all the sparks and spatial warping to cease. She concentrated briefly, and a portal opened next to the stone, leading back to the battlefield. "Should be safe to approach now. The stone will probably remain stable for another hour or so." The Brave Adventurer frowned. "Are you not one of the most skilled Narrators alive? Do you not wield the Plotblade of Lore? Surely you could secure the Plotblades if they were found and deliver them to us for safekeeping." "They are not just rabbits. They are rabbits enhanced by one of the most powerful wizards in history. He has spent centuries growing his herd, creating specialized rabbits of all kinds. Compared to that, a Narrator who is intentionally suppressing her powers is nothing." "Thank you for offering, but it's nothing you need concern yourself with. Just an old scar that gets a little stiff now and again." He stretched his right arm, wincing slightly, then relaxed. "Anyways, I think you'll find that very few Enullers have gone rogue, to my understanding. And with the proper paperwork you can likely call the organized Enullers to aid you if you do encounter one of those few." The Dreamsmith smiled. "And I do try give people what they ask for, when they come with a specific need or request. If you're concerned about mystery, don't worry. That pen has plenty of surprises waiting for you. But first you must give it a name. It is not complete without one."
