    "Of course that's your reasoning." Subversion sighed. Then she spoke again in a calm, ethereal voice. "The trial is nigh. The secrets hidden shall be revealed. Watch, and tremble for the fear of destruction that could be." "Because they're not injured in any way that requires medical attention." The Brave Adventurer returned to his study and began plotting preparing for the trial. The stairs led up to a large circular room with eight different doors leading out of it. "Um, yeah. Of course." Subversion coughed. "Not sure it's working." Subversion scowled back. This dress isn't even pink! It's black! Made from shadows! What kind of princess wears a dress made of shadows? "I'll have you know that I was doing something actually. I wa-The Adventurers plot. They will break the thread in their arrogance.-s bringing us here so that we could update the prophecy about the Plotblades! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. Probably because your presence offends the prophetic energies gathered in this place almost as much as it offends me!" Subversion spun around and stalked off angrily, dress shifting into a pair of trousers, a shirt, and a dark grey cloak for no reason in particular.

    Subversion glared daggers at Lady Bug. "Well, I guess so. Basically what I mean is I hope this will make it more difficult for others to take control of our system again." Nogard didn't find any stairs down this way, but he did find a stairwell leading up. "Argument?" Subversion managed a look of total innocence and affrontedness. "I was not arguing." "What, are you weak to dehydration or something?" Subversion grinned. "And I'm no prophet either, so I don't see why you're being so judging about my prophecy." "I don't know." Said the lead medical adventurer. "Do you need to be cleared by us? You're the expert on Narrator biology." The Brave Adventurer shivered. I dislike doing this with so many Narrators and their like around. Things would be much simpler if they didn't exist.

    Subversion sniffed. "What, you have a problem with me thinking?" A spa day? "Please. I'm not the one who's been stuck in the desert for so long I look like something that cat dragged in." "Our backup operating system. Hopefully it won't have quite so many security issues." One of the brave adventurers pointed Nogard towards a door leading off the hangar. "Go through that hall, take the third left and then go down two flights at the stairs." Subversion turned to glare at Bacon instead. "No. Why would you be?"

    The temperature under the awning dropped by at least twenty degrees. Pathetic NAME CALLING?! Subversion's hands tightened into fists. "Perhaps I should abandon you here. Or maybe, since you like the heat of the desert so well, you'd prefer to be left somewhere a little hotter? I hear the volcanic regions of Embryar are lovely this time of year." Her eyes glittered darkly. Subversion turned her (literally) ice-cold glare onto Tam. Then, reluctantly, she backed up a step. The temperature went back to normal. "My... apologies, Faunus." She glared at the green-eyed woman. "I suppose I shall excuse your rudeness, on account of your current state of distress." At least for now.

    Subversion's eyes narrowed. Who are you calling princess, you... you...sand-covered... something! She folded her arms across her chest. "You don't? Well Fanuas, I think that if I had been lost in the desert without supplies, the closest living person at least fifty miles away, I would be more grateful to the people who showed up and rescued me." She stepped towards Faunus, eyes glinting coolly. "Perhaps I should teach you a lesson in manners. It might help keep you from annoying your rescuers so much that they decide to abandon you the next time you're trapped in the desert."

    "If you Narrate them away maybe." Subversion muttered.

    Subversion eyed Fanas back, lips thinning. What's wrong with acquaintances? "Perhaps I was worried for your safety." Subversion said indignantly, her shadowy dress billowing in the breeze. "Am I not allowed to be concerned for a woman who appears almost dead from dehydration and lost in the middle of a desert?" Subversion waved a hand dismissively. "Well, there were better options is all I meant."

    The teleporter fought valiantly, but with Selppaenip's help the battle was swiftly ended. "Alright General, we should have this up in a few more minutes, once Jim over there is done installing Linux on the main computer." "So far as I know, yes." The Brave Adventurer checked his watch. "If that is all of your questions, I shall take my leave. I have much to prepare for." He hurried away. "Pizzazz doesn't have to be rude. You could have just stuck with the microphone, and perhaps a cool rain would have been more appropriate than annoying confetti."

    "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Faunus. I'm Subversion." A cool breeze began blowing softly through the shade of the awning, making the temperature quite comfortable. "How did you come to be in this desert?" "Um, if you want to help, grab a wrench. They're over there." The adventurer pointed to a pile of bloodied wrenches. "The werebeast? She will be invited as well." "Have you tried saying hello, welcome to the thread new person? I find it works quite well."

    The adventurer scratched his neck with the wrench held tightly in his fist. "Yeah. We can't damage them too badly though, or else we'll never get the teleporter back up." "You refer to Subversion the Narrator and the Immortal Platypus? They will be invited to the trial in order to testify. Platypus in particular seemed to believe that he had evidence of extreme import." "Nothing, usually. But maybe this isn't the best time?"

    "Very well." The group descended a stairway into a room where several tech-inclined adventurers were furiously beating the teleporter into submission with wrenches and liberal application of water. One of the adventurers took a break from this heroic duty to make a report to the General. "Sir! We have almost gotten the computer systems back under control. We estimate that we will be back online in about ten minut-" An audible *crunch* came from behind him as an adventurer got a little too zealous with his wrench. "make that half an hour at most." "And who would that be?" "Oh." An awning from nowhere overhead, and a glass full of chilled water formed in the woman's hand. "I second Bacon, minus the confetti. What's your name?"

    "Hm. Maybe it'll take a moment." Subversion waved. "Ah, are you an oracle?" "Er, yes. Very well. When will you want to speak to your defendee?" "They'll be going as well, once they're cleared with medical. The Narrator may go as he wishes of course, we can hardly stop him. If you want, you can stay with your friends until they are cleared."

    "Well the Great Wizard does have rabbits." Subversion frowned. "It's possible, isn't it? Should we try to find three rabbits in a trench coat?" Subversion snapped her fingers, and suddenly Platypus, Bacon, and her were standing in a barren desert with nothing around for twenty miles at least. The sun burned overhead, and vultures circled. "Maybe a change of scenery will help us make a prophecy." "I... suppose you could term it that way." "Yes, of course." The Brave Adventurer waved a hand and two other adventurers approached. "They'll lead you to the teleportation room, which should hopefully be back online by now, and show you to your rooms in our main base."

    "Um, alright." Subversion cleared her throat. "The dread Plotblades will be discovered by... somebody." She shook her head. "Nope. Got nothing." "You are legally allowed to read both the unclassified information" the adventurer gestured to the file Selppaenip had pulled the envelope from. "And the classified information. But we would ask you, for the safety of the thread, not to open that envelope until the trial is underway. It shouldn't change your defense too much." "Well, you are witnesses for the trial." The Brave Adventurer nodded. "As expected. Your kind are short-sighted." "Go right ahead." Subversion waved at Platypus. "See if you can do better than me."

    "Yeah." Subversion cocked her head. "Maybe I could update it. Prophesying doesn't seem too hard, right?" "We are required by our laws to make available to you all evidence regarding the Great Wizard's trial, even if there are parts of it that we would rather not anyone know." The Great Wizard looked over at him. "Hm? Oh, no. We won't be letting you run off until the Great Wizard's trial is done, just in case a conspiracy does come to light, but for now the evidence indicates that you really didn't intend to intervene in our meeting."

    No, she's still at the hangar with everyone besides Selppaenip and the Great Wizard.

    The Brave Adventurer sighed in exasperation. "I made the accusation after accumulating enough evidence to prove reasonable suspicion. Proving his guilt requires much more stringent proof." "Anyways, this trial." ... turned his piercing gaze upon the Brave Adventurer. "You will be trying him formally? Not going to bend any rules in light of the... situation?" The Brave Adventurer nodded. "In light of the severity of the claims, we cannot do anything else." "Yeah. If we count you as an Ordered light being, then the last time all four powers were present like this was around the time when Nameless failed to kill the Witherlord." "So Beosta or Shoe then?" The General led a full escort of adventurers down a hallway off the hangar, carrying the Great Wizard along with them. Along the way, an Adventurer handed Selppaenip a file. "Here's a list of the accusation against the Great Wizard. Please refrain from opening the sealed envelope until the trial begins, as it contains... sensitive information."

    "Yeah, I can see that." Subversion glanced around. "So who do you think is most likely to find one of them?" "Afraid not. It takes time to gather all of the evidence so that we can be certain we are not leaving out any details from our accusation. That gathering may go more quickly than I assume, however." ... frowned. "No, why do you-oh, I see. You think I'm Nameless?" He laughed. "I'm not. Nameless's actions as the brave adventurer inspired me to form the Brave Adventurers and take up the mantle of the Brave Adventurer. He was the first brave adventurer, but I was the first Brave Adventurer." The Brave Adventurer looked relieved. "I see. A misunderstanding is all. I was rather worried." "No, they haven't been. Seems like there've been a lot of them around recently though."

    "Do you need... psychological help? We have a psychiatrist who is mostly qualified." Their disappointment didn't last long, as their destruction was swift. "I am certain that it could, were it not so that our trial laws specifically forbid the use of Narration in any way associated with the trial." ... looked back at Hacob in confusion. "So far as I know, there is no big secret to my identity. If you think you know something about me, then please, feel free to speak. I'm as curious as the Brave Adventurer." "Oh, the Enullers? That'll be fun! I haven't interacted with them much before." Subversion grinned.

    Nope. It was seawater, and it destroyed the computers like nothing else. "The trial... Hm." The Brave Adventurer checked his pocket watch again. "Well, still must make the announcement and gather the appropriate witnesses, so... perhaps a few days? Assuming no further... complications." He looked at ... and the rest of the group meaningfully. The Brave Adventurer looked at ... expectantly. "Well? What secret is this?" ... shrugged. "I don't know. Didn't know I was so famous. The Brave Adventurers weren't a very big group when I began, and this business with the Plotblades is the first time we've acted openly." He tried again to become more normal, and failed once again. "I can't think of anything in particular that would have caused me to be famous before my time as the Brave Adventurer either. I lived a relatively quiet life before I was inspired to take up the mantle of Brave Adventurer." He smiled apologetically. "I'm just as confused as you are." "...I see." The Brave Adventurer looked unconvinced. "Um, miss? Is something wrong?" One of the brave adventurers looked concerned. Subversion frowned, mentally recounting the people in Bacon's group. "I suppose you didn't. Well, Platypus and I are waiting for the Plotblades to appear so we can steal them for ourselves or something. Do you want in?"

    Several medical adventurers went over to check Gail and Qodi out. “I suppose. Hey, speaking of developments, have you seen any indication of Plotblade-claiming in your group?”

    "Still. We must be cautious when dealing with forces that could rip the thread asunder." "Oh, that's great! Wait, I totally forgot about that final project! Do you think Gail's going to be alright? She hasn't done much recently, although it's not entirely her fault."

    the first Brave Adventurer "It was not important to your training. To be normal is to put aside all claims to greatness." ... said sagely. "Hardly." The Brave Adventurer had recovered himself, although he still kept a firm grip on his pocket watch. "My predecessor... um, what is your name, actually? I only ever knew you by the title. No matter. My predecessor was very close to the Great Wizard. Until the trial is sorted out, we have to protect ourselves from the possibility that they have been working together from the beginning." "Me?" ... looked confused. "Have I met you before?" "I would like to know as well." The Brave Adventurer frowned at Hacob. "You implied that there was some secret to my predecessor's identity. Who exactly is he?" It wasn't. "Sure." Subversion snapped her fingers, and they appeared next to the Bacon the Bard that was currently with Beosta and that group. "Hey! How's the quest been going?" @xinoehp512

    "I am just another normal person." ... became slightly more normal for a moment, then staggered and went back to abnormality. The General laughed. "A normal person? Of course I know him. He is the founder of our order, the first Brave Adventurer. He retired, then vanished. We all assumed that one of his many enemies had done him in. We had no idea he had learned such an incredible talent." Fortunately the squirt guns were filled with seawater, not water. "I may have been mentioned in passing. And yes, his group has grown. Which only makes it more likely that one of them could claim the Blades." The Dreamsmith nodded. "Until then. I'll visit again soon. Perhaps after this Plotblade business is over, or maybe before that if it drags on for too long. Don't go moving that door or vanishing before then, alright?" He turned to go, walking back to the door he'd entered through. Just before leaving, he paused. "Onyx? A long time ago, I knew someone with an affliction very similar to yours. I failed him. No, worse than that. In my callousness, I made his pain worse. All this to say... I meant what I said about helping you. If you ever need me, I will do everything in my power to help you." With that, the Dreamsmith stepped through the door and reentered the world of dreams.

    "I am fine." ... managed to rise, still winded. "Just having some inexplicable problems. I am not part of any 'conspiracy', and am merely here with my apprentice Selppaenip, whom I am teaching the arts of normalcy." The General nodded slowly, but the Brave Adventurer was much less composed. "You-you can't be alive! You disappeared! Everyone knew you were assassinated shortly after your retirement. It's just... not possible!" The Dreamsmith nodded. "Unfortunately." Subversion nodded slowly. "We should go check up on Bacon, I think. He's watching over the rest of the group mentioned in the prophecy, isn't he?" Fortunately the adventurers had prepared well for this day, quickly equipping their soldiers with squirt guns to destroy the evil computers. "Oh." "I have been with your group for a while. But I am hard to notice." ... glanced around and sighed. "Normally, at least."
