The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
NameIess replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Maybe? Almost all the Ordered light in TLT was corrupted into darkness or transformed into Chaotic Light when the Witherlord destroyed the Luxsprites. There's only ever been one other Ordered Light being in TLT if we're not counting the last Luxsprite or Platypus, and that was a leftover remnant of a crystal from the Luxsprite's time. It's not very likely that an Ordered Light being on the power level of a god could have existed for a significant amount of time without drawing the Witherlord's notice, as they could threaten him. And it's equally unlikely (if not more so) that an Ordered Light being with Mox's power could come into existence, as there's basically no way to create Ordered Light without a being of Ordered Light to start from. "I see." nanobots crawl across Malevolence's face, rearranging his features and giving him tattoos. He now had black hair and clear blue eyes. "So you're the one who's responsible for the changes in this place? Most evil of you." -- Somewhere far off... Pot sat down, put his feet up on the table, and opened his book. This librarian job really was perfect. No one ever bothered to read his dusty old manuscripts besides the odd researcher or particularly ambitious graduate student, so for most of the day he was free to just relax with a good book. Today he was reading the tenth book of the Stormlight Archives: Lopen and the Knights of Lunacy. He was just about to reach the Sanderlanch when he heard the sound. The sound that every librarian was taught to fear from the moment they began their apprenticeship. The sound of small paws on hard stone. Pot stood sharply, hurrying towards the sound of the vermin. It was good that he had this book, as it would doubtless work very well for smashing any rats attempting to eat the pages. He rounded the corner in the hallway that lead to the library proper, and froze. A horde of rabbits filled the rows of bookshelves. But instead of eating the pages, they were carrying off the books. Quite efficiently too, stuffing the books and manuscripts into several massive sacks, which they then dragged through the hole they'd burrowed into the library with. "Wha-" A sharp pain ran up Pot's leg. He yelped, stumbling back, and looked down into eyes that were blacker than the darkest night. Fear paralyzed him as the void-eyed rabbit crawled up his legs and came to rest on his shoulder, never once taking its eyes away from his. Paper. The voice that entered his mind dripped with malice. Give us your paper. The rabbit turned its head to sniff at Lopen and the Knights of Lunacy Give us your paper, and perhaps we shall not eat you. Pot dropped the book immediately, relieved that the little beast had looked away from him. Perhaps... perhaps he would survive this after all. It was only then that Pot noticed that all the other rabbits had stopped their thieving to gather around him, a sea of dark-eyed monsters. He screamed then, and tried to run. He did not scream for long.- 111831 replies

Platypus isn't ever a Luxsprite. He may have Ordered Light energy in his soul, but he is not ever a Luxsprite. Similarly, he wouldn't ever be a withergeist, just a being of Chaotic Darkness. "Desolation has returned." Subversion said. "That makes... far too many active threats to this thread." She cocked her head. "Although, come to think of it, that might not be so bad. Antagonist might well have been easily claimed if there were only one." Waiting on Platypus.- 111831 replies

The last quest of the brave adventurer: Prologue: Part 1
NameIess posted a blog entry in TLT random things I thought of
It began early one morning while I was working in my shop, enjoying a quiet day of peace. That peace was banished as a very distressed young man burst through my front door and nearly collapsed onto the floor, breathing heavily. He had unremarkable features in my estimation, but at his side hung perhaps the most beautiful rapier I had ever seen in my life. The blade was thin and elegant, made from pure white metal I had never seen before and honed to perfection with a razor edge on both sides. The guard was exquisite, made with finely crafted golden wires that wrapped elegantly around the hilt. Speaking of the hilt, it was wrapped in leather and inscribed with intricate images of a man and woman embracing. On the pommel of the rapier was a flawless ruby that seemed to-no, it was not my imagination. The ruby did glow with a warm, passionate light. I tore my eyes away from the man’s rapier. “What’s the matter?” I asked. His reply was slow in coming, as he was very out of breath. “Are you the brave adventurer? They say you’re a great hero. Please, will you help me? They took her. I have to get her back. I have to!” Before the words were finished coming out of his mouth, I was strapping on my own sword, a dull thing in comparison to his. “Who was taken? By whom? Where did they take her?” I barked. The young man looked relieved, but he answered quickly. “My betrothed. Armed men attacked our town last night. I don’t know why. They killed some, took others.” He looked down, clearly trying not to cry. “We… we were supposed to be married today.” I put a hand on his shoulder, searching for words that would comfort him. “We’ll get her back. Do you know where they took her?” The young man shook his head but placed his right hand on his magnificent rapier. “No, but True Love will lead me to her.” I frowned, not understanding this at first. Then it dawned on me. “That’s a Plotblade?” I asked in awe. Long had I searched for a Plotblade suitable for me, and never had I been able to claim one. Although I had to admit that I was quite happy with the way my adventure into Onyx’s realm had turned out. “Nevermind. That’s not important now. Time is of the essence!” With that, we both dashed out the door. We sought the man’s beloved long into the day. Soon I found myself wishing for Moni’s ability to travel, but every time I thought about calling for a break, a glance at my companion’s face renewed my resolve to continue. Finally, we came to a stop atop a hill overlooking what looked like a small outpost guarded by a squad of men with halberds. “She’s inside. Beneath the outpost.” The young man moved as if to crest the hill, but I caught his arm. “No. We need to make a plan and rest for a bit. If we rush in there now, we’ll be more likely to get your betrothed killed than save her.” The man gripped his rapier hilt tightly but nodded. “What’s the plan?” He asked. I turned to consider the base. “I’m thinking about it.” Perhaps… yes, that should work. “What’s your name?” I asked as the gears in my brain spun as quickly as they could. The young man frowned. “Galbus.” I nodded. “A good name. Anyways, I’ve got a plan. I’ll go down there and distract all the guards while you sneak in and rescue your beloved. Sound good?” Galbus nodded slowly, but he looked confused. “You’ll distract them?” He said questioningly. “How?” In response, I drew my sword and charged down the hill. -

It's the metal form of Chaotic Darkness. Wounds made by Mordite will be almost impossible to heal, and a blow to one's Core will always be lethal. "Very well. I will do so once I am done researching some things."- 111831 replies

To add to what Cookie said, I'd specify that that would be for destroying the blades entirely via Enulling. Suppressing their power would be easier, making them into basically normal Blades.- 111831 replies

"Yes, I know." Malevolence typed away at his computer. "Quite a record he's got too. He was a very destructive child, or at least his teachers and classmates seemed to think so." Moni shook her head. "I'm fine. It's just... seeing what Palsu did brought back some bad memories." She turned back to the group. "You're all right. We need to keep going. No time for this right now." Indeed. He could reach that level, potentially. Onyx is a Narrator, and his identity is definitely completely unimportant. Also I don't think the Enullers live there, but Onyx is associated with them.- 111831 replies

You can't just be an antagonist or protagonist. You have to be the Protagonist or Antagonist. Malevolence isn't at that level (yet). Moni shrugged, turning back to the wall. "Nothing you can give me."- 111831 replies

They will choose their wielder from the one who closest matches them. Moni turned. Her face was slicked with sweat, her breath was still coming quickly, and her eyes were red. "I'm... fine." My list is a tiny bit (read: extremely) out of date. Protagonist and Antagonist can't be claimed through Narration and are not available to be found. One must prove to be a worthy Pro/Antagonist in order to claim them. Love Triangles is in Platypus's possession. I think Plot Twists was owned by someone. But if there's a plot aspect that no one has yet, feel free to have one of your characters claim/quest for it.- 111831 replies

Perhaps if you'd given me more information about your plans, I would have been able to see your supposed competence. Regardless, I will not negotiate. Let your assassins come. I will deal with them. Goodbye. Malevolence ended the communication, then spun around to his computer. How had his machine been disabled? Had the Nullite been used up? He had been operating the field at a significantly higher power level than in his tests. A quick check of the ruined machine told him this had not been the case, although it did appear that he'd used far more than his calculations had indicated. I'll need to secure a stable supply if I'm to scale this up. He thought to himself. Since it hadn't been the Nullite, it must have been something else. A quick review of the footage revealed the true culprit. Malevolence sat back in his chair. "So..." He said thoughtfully. "Bat. The one Malan ignored. Who would've thought you'd be the one to ruin my plans?" He smiled evilly. "This warrants more research." Endings was found offscreen, and seems to have mysteriously appeared in Moni's possession. Vengeance was taken from Plot's corpse, I believe it was the weapon he used while he was alive. Antagonist and Protagonist have not been found, and cannot be claimed except by somebody who aligns with their intent. Palsu stood up. "Great! He's dead. Shall we go before more enemies find us?" Art from the incredible @LessName. It's the dress Subversion wore at Sequence's party. She didn't like the Subversion she drew in it, so I just have the dress.- 111831 replies

I want to quit. Malevolence sent. You're a terrible boss, your plans are worthless, and I'm barely improving under your leadership. I feel that I would be better served by devoting my time to other, more competent masters of evil. Palsu hit the wall and stayed down, having had the breath knocked from him. Malevolence was very surprised by this message, and sent one back. Actually Vengeance has the most raw power. When Plot died he wished for nothing more than Vengeance against the Narrators that had killed him, which led to Vengeance getting more power than it otherwise deserved as a plot element. Endings is a dangerous Plotblade, but not the most powerful or the most dangerous. Protagonist and Antagonist are the most powerful Plotblades not because of the raw power they grant, but because of how they allow one to gather power. Both Protagonists and Antagonists are always getting powerups and finding magical artifacts that make them incredibly strong.- 111831 replies

"Well I believe this woman wants to keep her memories of her brother." Subversion said frustratedly. "Let's circle back. What evidence do you have that-" She frowned. "That... oh, oh dear." "I believe there was going to be a meal afterwards, and gift-giving to the bride and groom. You can still enjoy that." -- Malevolence tried the connection again. Master Malan? The Priest smiled warmly. "Of course. I wish you a wonderful life with your husband. May the pages of your story be many." Malevolence frowned. "Thank you for the strategy advice. However, I have another plan in mind. One that will work better with my employer." He painfully limped over to his communication device and opened a line to Malan. Master?
