  1. "That's because evil people always have fatal flaws. If I study hard, I will be able to avoid such flaws and achieve total victory." Malevolence turned his attention back to the butterflies. He sat up suddenly, turning to stare at a pure-white rabbit that had hopped up to him from somewhere. The words on the note changed again.
  2. Malevolence tutted softly to himself and moved his hand away from the butterflies, then opened it. "Why should I be evil to a bird?" Malevolence asked. "Birds cannot understand the concept of evil. Besides that, what would I gain?" The words on the note Malevolence had given Cricket shifted. @Ookla the Irreplaceable
  3. "I disagree with the first point, but I agree that people are far more than props. Props are far less annoying."
  4. Malevolence caught the bird gently with his free hand. "Why should that matter?"
  5. Malevolence admired the beauty of the butterflies without fear, secure in the knowledge that he had antidotes for almost every poison in existence. "And why should I care?"
  6. “Violence is often the easier way to solve problems. And the easiest way is often the best way.” Malevolence stared at the butterflies thoughtfully. “Interesting. Are they poisonous?”
  7. “You were trying to hurt me. Or rather, not hurting you would’ve resulted in me getting hurt.”
  8. Malevolence opened his eyes and looked at it. “Is Tam back?”
  9. “You had no qualms hurting me when we fought.”
  10. Malevolence nodded. “I will be the greatest of all those who are evil. That’s why I started the internship with Malan.”
  11. “Let me guess, awful?” Malevolence smiled, looking quite relaxed. “It wasn’t that bad. I had all the skills I needed to succeed.”
  12. "Of course! Woke up one day in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the clothes on my back. Standard graduation ceremony."
  13. "That's right." Malevolence nods and lies back onto the ground, closing his eyes.
  14. Malevolence snorted. "How many times do you need to say that? My upbringing was awful, and it's over now. I survived, I have skills and knowledge that few can match, and I can do with them whatever I want. What else is there to say?"
  15. "Evil looks not for justification." Malevolence said calmly.
  16. Malevolence nodded almost imperceptibly. Malevolence shrugged again. "From your perspective, I suppose that could be true."
  17. "Don't be. I'm fully comfortable in what I've become." DON'T YOU DARE
  18. "Yes." Malevolence handed a folded piece of paper to Cricket. This is what the paper said. I'm sure no one will peek!
  19. Malevolence shrugged. "No. I only know that he wants Tam captive and you dead. And that as long as he's afraid of you, he'll never show vulnerability."
  20. "Yes, he has powers. Teleportation, Enulling. Seems similar to yours. Do you think you can find him before someone he sends kills you? Or one of your friends? If you'll trust me, I can help you."
  21. "Again, that's the point. I survived and I'm stronger now because of it."
  22. Malevolence shrugged. "It was all just a setup actually. A test to see if I'd run back to my 'family'." "He's afraid of you." Malevolence said bluntly. "He'll never confront you. Only remain in the shadows, sending minion after minion until you are dead."
  23. “That was the point, I think.” Malevolence picked at the ground by his side. “I hacked into their records once, trying to find out where I was from. They said I’d been kidnapped as a baby from a royal family who’d refused to give in to the demands of the organization that runs the school. Apparently, I was to be trained up to assassinate them one day and take control of their kingdom.”
  24. Malevolence stared at Bat as if he was crazy. “Of course not! I told you, I was raised there. From infancy.”
