  1. "Excellent." The metal sphere projected a field that sucked all the color from the air, encapsulating the fake Tam. "Very good." He turned to Cricket. "Are you ready?" @TwinStorm
  2. "Alright then. Me, Cricket, Bat, Fael, and perhaps Rebus will be the strike team." Malevolence tapped his wrist, and a floating metal sphere appeared in the air above the second Tam. "I assume this one is the copy?
  3. "If she doesn't want to be on the strike force, then yes."
  4. Gotcha. "Very well." Malevolence extended a hand and a device appeared in it. "This right here is a device that will make you invisible. It wasn't found in Tam's search of me so it should hold up to Malan's scrutiny." He handed it to Cricket. "Tam, make the copy of yourself. I'll teleport a suppressor in and hook it up." He turned to Bat. "Yes. when I spring the trap, Cricket will use his powers to restrain Malan, then I'll teleport you in and you'll use the Notblades to incapacitate him."
  5. Malevolence nodded. "Yes, if you invest a portion of your Narration into the copy, it should work to fool him. Particularly if I tune the suppressor to look as if your power is mostly suppressed." He turned to Cricket, Bat, and Rebus. "Is everyone ready?" @Halcyon The Only @Dragonheir @TwinStorm
  6. Gold coins flow from the Plotblade. Need... fuel. So long... locked away so long... Need... power.
  7. "It will be over." Malevolence said grimly. "Very soon, your battle with Malan will be over." "Would the copy be a Narrator? Malan may be able to tell the difference if it's not at least partially empowered." Malevolence pointed out.
  8. “Um, she’s a split off of Lady Bug maybe? I believe she goes by Ruia, and currently holds the Plotblade of Mentorship.” “Fael volunteered as well, I believe. Fael, would you prefer to go or would you prefer Rebus to go?” @TwinStorm The Plotblade thrums with energy. It seems to whisper to Rebel, although it could just be his imagination. Need… need... need…
  9. Malevolence looked up. "Are you all ready to carry out the plan?"
  10. "Alright." Unintelligible said. "I suppose it won't be too dangerous to go talk to one of them. I think the crazy Narrator lady would be best. Think you can take us to her?" Subversion's eyes widened. "Her too? What's next, you'll tell me X's avatar never existed?"
  11. Malevolence sat down on the warehouse floor and waited patiently. "Uh, I don't know if confronting evil people is the best idea given your... condition."
  12. "Well, one's called Malevolence, one's called Malan-an Enuller, I think-and the other might be a fragment of an insane Narrator."
  13. "I first encountered him on a quest for a Plotblade." Unintelligible said. "He's an Inkling, capable of stealing Narration from Narrators."
  14. "I'd stay away from Desolation. But the other ones might be safe enough."
  15. "Both. Desolation is back, and there's at least three other new evils that I can name off the top of my head." "Fine."
  16. Unintelligible grimaced. "Well..." Malevolence appeared in the warehouse with his customary crackle of lightning. "So, final plan is: We use some Narrator or other as bait, Cricket disguises as Stone and comes with me to control the restraining device on the Narrator, I lure Malan in, then I teleport all of you to me and we kill Malan."
  17. “I will release the bait, then teleport a strike force, including Bat, in to kill him. I will also assist using my technology, and create an anti-teleportation field after bringing in the strike force to prevent him from fleeing.”
  18. "Yes, but I can claim to have denounced him in order to fool the Authors into believing me separate from him, in order to infiltrate his enemies effectively. It is a reasonable enough plan."
  19. Malevolence is quite determined to be evil. That is all.
  20. "And why will he trust you? From the first he will suspect you of doing precisely what you are attempting to do."
  21. "I would prefer not to be bait, yes." Malevolence raised a finger. "But the main reason I am against the idea is that I will not work as bait. Can you not get that idea through your skull? Just as we can't use Cricket as bait, we can't use me. Malan wants me dead. Not captured. He will be happy to hear that I am dead, but if you have me 'captive', he will simply tell you to kill me."
  22. "Why would Malan care? Many good people who would want to oppose and lure him into a trap would kill me."
  23. Subversion grabbed the reports and read through them as quickly as she could.
  24. "I told you that capturing me won't work. Malan wants me dead, not alive. More, he fears what I know about him and his plans. If Rebel had me captive, then he would be a threat to Malan by virtue of knowing what I know."
  25. “You don’t need to trust me. We can set this plan up so that no trust is required.” Malevolence didn’t like Bat either.
