  1. "What would you do if someone told you that the recurring nightmare you have every time you fall asleep is actually caused by a real person? I'd much rather be a little insane. It's what I've assumed all my life, up to this point."
  2. "But... he can't be real." The ex-shovel man's eyes dart around frantically, and he reaches for a shovel that isn't there. "How am I supposed to sleep at night knowing that he's real?"
  3. Nameless sighed. "Fine. I won't stop you next time."
  4. Nameless considered this, then shook his head. "No thanks. I don't need to know how your magic would interact with me."
  5. "What counts as playing an instrument?"
  6. "I don't sing. Even when I don't have a headache."
  7. Nameless hesitated. “Well… it wasn’t entirely unrelated to my magic.”
  8. “I just had a headache, and your music and magic weren’t helping it. That’s all. It had nothing to do with my magic.”
  9. “I… he’s not real. He can’t be real.”
  10. Nameless frowned. “What do we need to talk about?”
  11. “Wish I could do likewise.” Nameless shrugged. “She had an accident of some kind, didn’t she?”
  12. Nameless notices Tal and walks up to him. “Sorry to interrupt, but do you know how Rue’s doing?”
  13. Nothing happened. Subversion frowned at Platypus. “Was that supposed to get rid of my illusions? I haven’t made any yet.” She pointed her Narrationblade at Platypus, forming a web of Narration surrounding him to make his skin vulnerable to attacks.
  14. Subversion grinned. “Who said I was referring to you?” She backed up from Platypus, holding her Blade in a defensive stance. “So, going to show off the true extent of your new powers?”
  15. The ex-shovel man shakes his head vehemently. "No, really. How did you find out? Did you read my mind?"
  16. "What?" The ex-shovel man is shocked. "How'd you find that name? Did Altair tell you? I didn't think he knew it."
  17. "My name? What did he say it was?"
  18. "Well look at that! Page 2600 already. Platypus, I guess it's time to start our battle. May the best Narrator win." Subversion summoned her Narrationblade and swung it for Platypus's head. @Being of Cacophony
  19. Subversion glanced at him, then added a VIP box for Butt Venture and Moni, with real-time screens that showed the battle perfectly. After that, she added a few more alternate dimensions to the arena for when the fight got really serious, then finished her conversation with Moni and walked over to Abalodor. "Me and Platypus are going to duel. You can watch from the spectator stands if you want, or you can go fight Desolation. I think he said he'd be accepting challenges at the same time our duel starts."
  20. "Sure. Watch out for the illusions, and expect the unexpected." Subversion added seating, and an empty announcers booth in case an announcer showed up. "Ah, there's Moni. Be right back. I have to go talk to her." Subversion walked over to Moni and started a whispered conversation with the former avatar.
  21. Subversion adds a layer of mist pooling on the ground. "Not even a hint?"
  22. Subversion began making a suitably dramatic location for the beginning of the duel. "So, got any tips for fighting you?"
  23. The next room was revealed to be the same room, right before it disappeared. Next time we meet, I will be ready for you! You will not escape again.
  24. Only if you got through the room of annoyance! Which you didn't. I made sure to come out and fight you before that happened.
