  1. Nameless stood in the community hall, tapping his foot impatiently. He turned to TAAron and Rue. "Shouldn't people be here by now? I thought a couple people were interested. Where'd they all go?" @Edema Rue @The Aspiring Archivist
  2. "You'd probably just murder them. By the way, how much do you charge for non-killing people kinds of work?"
  3. Subversion is forced to disengage, leaving the Luxblade with dulled edge where it met with Endings. "This Plotblade really isn't in the best form for fighting. Imagine what I could do with it if it was a sword."
  4. Subversion only grinned as Platypus’s Luxblade began vibrating more fiercely, tiny spots of rust appearing near the point where it met with Endings.
  5. Subversion parried Platypus’s Luxblade with Endings, sending a shock of energy into the Blade that caused it to vibrate in Platypus’s hands.
  6. “Well he said he wants to help us.” Nameless glanced at Argenti. He seems a little… unstable. Be careful around him.
  7. “Don’t worry. You’re safe from them here. We’ll help you.” Nameless barely avoids Argenti as he closes his gateway behind himself. “Hey Rue, did Argenti introduce himself?” @Edema Rue
  8. Subversion dashed towards Platypus, attacking with her Narrationblade, trying to create an opening for Endings.
  9. "Alright, we'll leave it out. I'll warn Calano about the danger of the cult chasing you."
  10. Subversion held up the small dagger so that Platypus could see it better. "Endings. Moni let me borrow it."
  11. "What are the consequences of having that sigil implanted?"
  12. "I suppose you can at that." The real Subversion appeared in front of Platypus, holding two Blades. "Still not going to use Vengeance?"
  13. “Oh, alright. Do you still want that sigil re-implanted?”
  14. Platypus’s sword went through Subversion’s head, dispersing the illusion. Three more Subversions leapt at Platypus from behind.
  15. “Oh, that’s great. I should probably check on her. Say, weren’t you the one that wanted amnesia therapy?”
  16. “Oh, Tal! Glad you’re here. You can handle the check-in paperwork yes? That’s great, thank you. I have to go meet with some patients, so I’ll leave you to it.” Lark rushed out the door before Tal could object.
  17. A burst of lava shot up towards Platypus, then split apart as Subversion erupted from it, Narrationblade swinging for Platypus’s throat.
  18. “monochloroacetic acid? It’s at safe levels.”
  19. “Those are chemical formulas. And ‘ppm’ stands for ‘parts per million’. There’s a list of substances by name on the flip side of the page, along with information about toxicity.”
  20. “No worries, I can do it. Just wanted to know if that other staff member signed you in before I arrived.” Lark picked up a vial of what looked like blood off of a stack of papers and flipped through them, then pulled out a sheet and handed it to Aeoryi. “Here you go. A full report on the contents of the water in the clinic.”
  21. As Lark and Aeoryi walk through the clinic, Lark points out a few important areas. “That hallway there leads to the community hall, and if you take a right there you get to the dining hall. Up those stairs is mostly patient’s rooms, and down them is the basement. If you keep going down the corridor we’re in, you’ll get to the medical wing eventually, but my office is here so we’re not going to see that right now.” Lark stops and opens the door to his office, then walks over to his desk and starts rummaging through paperwork. “Did you get signed in earlier?”
  22. Lark sighs. “Come on then. I have the report in my office.” He waves for Aeoryi to follow him and sets off into the clinic.
  23. “It’s not. The water is regularly tested. Do you want to see the results?”
  24. “Excuses? I won’t give any. I know you’re better than me in a fight like this.” Subversion continues to give ground, only just managing to survive Platypus’s attacks. “You’ve had more practice, and besides that fighting just isn’t what I’m best at. Every Narrator has their specialty, and mine lies outside the realm of traditional combat.” She smirked, teleporting to the other side of the arena to get some space. “Knowing that, I’ve made sure to prepare accordingly.” The illusion-preventing pattern that Platypus was weaving ended, and Subversion disappeared.
