  1. I disagree. The Ideals of the Knights Radiant display quite well the complexity of Honor's Intent in action. And it seems the Shardic Intents are meant to be that way
  2. His pettiness comes from his lack of understanding and his grievances are that of the spren rather than from men. And I think, the way he said he's changed. It's more than just the Bond. Becoming a Cognitive Shadow must've changed him, in the same way that Cultivation is trying to change The Nightwatcher organically.
  3. *wins conclusively* ... @Ookla the Fierce I would've preferred to get rickrolled... my ears... I clicked your 'About Me' link....
  4. @Chortle, don't worry about the multi-post, that's really easily solved. Go to the top of the Topics you want to delete, there should be a button marked 'Moderation Action', click that then select 'Hide' from the drop-down, give a reason for hiding the post, like "accidentally double-posted" and you're good to go!
  5. @Ookla the Imperial, you there?
  6. Big Bazookas In January Knock-out Fake Abominable Snowmen SHHHHH
  7. Kaladin, Shai, Vin & Elend, almost all of The Stormlight interlude characters, Human the Koloss, Dusk Who's your least favourite character?
  8. Just had another thought: what if some Shardworld used a Bond like this to marry?
  9. It happens to everyone eventually
  10. Nothing like that. From Peter Ahlstrom's birthday to Brandon Sanderson's birthday (Koloss Head Munching Day) various Sharders change their username to some variation of 'Ookla' to honor the times when the former was active online under the same username on the Timewasters' Guide. Here's the latest thread explaining the... phenomenon:
  11. Who's your fav character, @swlotrgirl?
  12. @Ookla the Prolific Karger, I am, I have to admit, delighted to hear of your plights on Roshar! How did you even get there? You should have stayed at Scadrial for the time being. Rosharans are a strange bunch with strange customs. Especially the Vorin Kingdoms. You can't read or write as a man. Women cover their "safehands", i.e. their left hands. They must have been scandalized by your behaviour! Judging by the fact that no one threw you in prison, I'm assuming you are in Thaylenah or Kharbranth rather than Alethkar. Write back soon. The One Without Honour
  13. Welcome to the Shard, @Lifeblesser! I think that's exactly what happens at the 10th Heightening
  14. Don't be silly, you are an Ookla not a Kholin!
  15. I think Brandon's comment on time and space in the Spiritual Realm adheres to Einstein's model of space-time. I don't think they'll be or can be any time travel in the Cosmere. It simply means that there is no time difference in the Spiritual Realm since everything is one. Perpendicularities are portals. I don't even have any quibbles with the terminology this time. Both Elantrians and those with access to the Surge of Transportation, including the Oathgates seem to be capable of utilizing it.
  16. It's still an economy that profits off the poor. I read the feeling of being a drab or even losing a few Breaths, I wouldn't want anyone to feel like that for a bit of power.
  17. Tragic anti-hero? Isn't that a role that some might argue Preservation already had donned in the story? He chose to go through a lingering death by possibly sentencing Ati to mindlessness, then thrust the role of suicide on someone else. He did break a promise, and he did do some bad things, but he did it for what was undeniably the greater good and he sacrificed himself first, for his children, the Scadrians. As for Preservation as a villain, I like @KandraAllomancer's idea, if Preservation's reaction to the Lord Ruler's death was any indication.
  18. He does seem super sketchy, doesn't he? What are those Stormstriders? Is he that helpless in stopping the Voidspren from bonding under his very nose? He handed out the visions, following the letter of the law but not the intent. Bringing the Highstorm in the face of the Everstorm... But post-Oathbringer, as he told Dalinar of the Herald's burden it became more understandable. He doesn't understand things without a Bond. Somehow even less than other Nahel Bond capable spren. His stinginess with information is understandable, the Sibling was hurt before, he distrusted humans post-Recreance, his understanding isn't quite human so he couldn't prioritize As for trust, he is the linchpin of their ecosystem, he deposits crem and distributes Stormlight, and brings rain. He is vital for life on Roshar. He has been associated directly with Honor for a long time too, especially in Vorinism.
  19. The Nightwatcher blushes. Then adopts a more determined expression, "I know that feeling.... and...... well, you can talk to me... go out with me!" Good going, Knight in shining armour! I wish for the ability to modify my own body safely
  20. Nope Nah Nyet I win
  21. He also compared Elhokar to Tien, just sayin' (probably the keyword that made people care when he got stabbed through his face)
  22. I didn't have to stay in that wretched monastery for more than a day, thank the gods! I'm doing art therapy as a Forger right now. It appears that The traveller's theory about Svrakiss being Cognitive Shadows was true. I'll join her in this quest at least but not till I have straightened my bones out! The One Without Honour
  23. haha! ... Do I?
