  2. That is a good ethical argument for why Nightblood shouldn't be considered a criminal but assuming someone sent Azure to capture him, they might not really care
  3. Yes, vote for Aradel instead! Thanks! Sounds like Kel
  4. Ding! Ding! Ding! Yes, it's the former governor of the Elendel Basin!
  5. Oh! Or something much simpler, lol, good catch!
  6. Nope! (and I think you already figured this out, given your guess but I'll confirm that it's not Lord Renoux either) 1) This character does not like a main character and the main character in question returns their feelings 2) This character was used to manipulate a main character by someone else 3) This character rubbed shoulders with a head honcho 4) This character was killed and impersonated by a revolutionary 5) This character's family member and close confidant also had the same relationship of mutual disapproval with a main character
  7. ^ What Oltux said. I know a lot of people theorized that Skathan (Scythe in the prose) was an Avatar of Autonomy, I think it's much more likely that he was the first to discover active usage of Darkside's Investiture system. Skathan figured out how to make the magic actively do something than just the passive effect of being Invested (or having a way to access the power), that being glowing in the dark, apparently. Basically, compare this to Nalthian Investiture. People may have known of Breaths (did they? Idk) but they did not know Awakening.
  8. Haha, nope, don't worry I'm not
  9. Ah, okay, do keep in mind that we don't really know what the "trick" in question is and the Returned are apparently capable of at least limited shape-shifting (hence Vivenna's abilities, also directly confirmed with Denth, and explanation regarding the Returned in the Hallandren Court of the Gods looking their societal perception of godly perfection). So for all we know, Returned are different than other Cognitive Shadows in this aspect. Another, even more important thing to note, the Returned also have their original bodies, technically. Their Cognitive Shadow is stapled back to their own body, the Divine Breath just alters it. Heralds do not have their original bodies (and given the no. of Desolations, their original bodies are likely long since dust)
  10. We know his overarching goal, not what he was trying to achieve by those experimentations. This entire theory is about what possible goal that research was for. I'm not sure what exactly you're asserting by the bottom paragraph

  12. Also this line to Kal and Adolin before they part ways sorta seems like she’s going after NB first but will get around Zahel: She doesn’t press them for more info on Zahel’s whereabouts, but instead continues on to Lasting Integrity chasing leads about NB. Speaking of which, who would have carried NB through Lasting Integrity “a few years ago?” Maybe Nale paying a visit to Kalak? Could be! Thanks for hunting for the extracts!

  14. Did she mention who the "criminal" she was hunting was? She could've been talking about Nightblood She didn't really react to Kaladin and Adolin moving to the same kata, though she seemed to realize who their master was. Could be she doesn't really want to catch Vasher too, and someone just put her up to this (Endowment, perhaps?)
  15. No idea what he might need it for, we don't know what exactly he's trying to do. The WoB does mention that Ishar doesn't have the "luxury" of having something with that strong a Connection to him. Though they're not 100% trying to do the same thing, apparently. Also, do note that the Returned can reproduce, as per the text itself and expanded upon in the annotations. Recall that the Royal Locks in the Idrian royal family come from their ancestor, Vo and the God Emperor of Hallandren can have children, but there's like there's a trick to it. We also got this WoB recently: and this Given Kelsier's personality, I don't think he's looking to die either. Kelsier as Thaidakar seemed to think that whatever's going on with the Heralds might help him learn how to get off-world, as per Mraize but that's not really definitive either way, it could be a shot in the dark or misinterpretation, etc.
  16. nope! 1) This character does not like a main character and the main character in question returns their feelings 2) This character was used to manipulate a main character by someone else
  17. The WoB says that Kelsier had his original body: his bones and that Ishar did not have this advantage. So, there is something different about Heraldic physiology.
  18. 1) This character does not like a main character and the main character in question returns their feelings
  19. You could've at least pretended to– like guessed it after the second clue, or even just put a question mark after the name! my pride... /jk
  20. 1) This character was instrumental in a final confrontation
  21. The Rosharan system is pre-Shattering, created directly by Adonalsium (though parts may have been altered or added by the Shards). Odium arrived on Ashyn later on, after Honor and Cultivation's arrival on Roshar (he was busy ganking other Shards) and was instrumental in its cataclysm.
  22. Nightblood has also talked about Vivenna to Szeth, he mentioned that she did not draw him often but carried him for a "while". I think Taravangian would've thought of Nale as more than "a former bearer" and he is aware of who Nale was, iirc. I think it's more likely that Nightwatcher and/or Nale offered the sword to other people and it's one of them whom the Diagram interviewed
