  1. Nope! Sekeir is a splendid guess, @AceBassMan! 1) This character behaves in a way that many might say is the opposite of how someone like them should behave 2) This character has done humanitarian work
  2. Well, Division is a very dangerous Surge. Strange that Soulcasting isn't similarly regulated... or not, Soulcasting had way more uses and was way too useful during the Desolations for food supply, I'd imagine. Yup, the Skybreakers got access to nothing from First Ideal. Second, gave them access to inhaling Stormlight and the Surge of Gravitation, which they could swear as Squires. Third, required a spren Bond, and from here on they get access to Division. Iirc, Windrunner Squires get access to both Surges from the beginning. Lightweaver Squires could breathe in Stormlight and also had access to Lightweaving, iirc but I don't remember anyone Soulcasting without a spren. Elsecaller Ideals being actions rather than words is kind of beautiful and fits with their core philosophy of reaching one's potential. And sparing Renarin being one of her Ideals does make Ivory's dialogue seem to make more sense. It fits thematically. I like it!
  3. RoW is still very fresh in my mind and has some of my most favourite Cosmere moments of all time 1) This character behaves in a way that many might say is the opposite of how someone like them should behave
  4. The Way of Kings - 9 Oathbringer - 10 Dawnshard - 6 Rhythm of War - 8 Mistborn: The Final Empire - 4 The Hero of Ages - 7 The Bands of Mourning - 10 Secret History - 7 Warbreaker - 7 The Emperor's Soul - 7 Sixth of the Dusk - 7 heal RoW, hurt Warbreaker
  5. I found this in the Arcanum Unbounded: Also hinting at multiple Ascensions, beyond just Alendi/Rashek and Vin
  6. A correction: the third Skybreaker Ideal, the Ideal of Dedication isn't necessarily about following a person, it can be a code or a philosophy.
  7. Now that is an excellent question! Speculations ahoy! I think @Lunamortheorized that the Forests of Hell was where people from the Homeland were conducting some secret research on Cognitive Shadows (...or was that about what the Evil was? Sorry, I forgot) I think that kinda makes sense, the things that drives the Shades into hunting mode can be argued to be a bit random. Maybe they were experimenting on commanding Cognitive Shadows Warbreaker spoilers
  8. With the possible implication being controlling Cognitive Shadows... or well, just Shades *nervous laughter*
  9. I think it's the lingering Spiritwebs of his victims whom Szeth hears
  10. Kiin / Dreok Crushthroat?
  11. That's the advantage of the metallic arts, you only need the metal as fuel, and that acts as the key to allow you to access Harmony's Investiture
  12. Well, we don't know that they "used" them. We just have the rites thing, implying that they could turn themselves into some type of Cognitive Shadow and the Shade gun thing takes place much later and doesn't come from a very reliable source but this part is unlikely to be lie, imo, at most a bit dramatized
  13. Yeah, the Sibling did seem to have been taking advantage of Dabbid. Not that the Sibling wasn't annoying in general with their "arguments" for why humans are untrustworthy and especially their devaluing of human life, the scene where those Darkeyes die protecting their pillar in particular. Though I think they'll get much more mature than the Stormfather, being less limited by their role and also that scene after the bonding, where they mention consequences for spren.
  14. Still sounds like Kelsier Hmm... a lil bit like Lightsong? It's difficult to guess with songs
  15. I think it won't just be a Shallan thing. That secretive part of her character will eventually be overcome by her, RoW already seems like a big step. I think there will be a more united approach to the broader Cosmere from the Coalition, things seem to be setting up that way. Also, somebody please just explain it all to Kaladin straight. My man has all the pieces and he still goes "Shinovar?", it makes me weep!
  16. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that particular discussion, I wonder if that means Nazh knows these "rites" and if he does, then did he ever perform them? Is he immortal? Many of the Worldhoppers are and this could be the source of his immortality. Could be that these rites are requirement to be able to handle Shades and thats how he had a gun that could apparently fire Shades. This could also be why Khriss sends him on so many weird and dangerous missions, those tasks might be easier for him as a... Cognitive Shadow, I suppose. I like Benkinsky's speculation. I'd imagined that he was involved in some attack by Shades and ended up in the Cognitive Realm via the "morbid", "unstable" Perpendicularity forming from the attacks. But iirc, you cannot accidentally travel through Perpendicularities, you need to know what you're doing and you need to intend to do it. He could then have been introduced to the broader Cosmere by a wandering Worldhopper. Shame, it would've been a classic. Of course there's also the fact that Nazh might be older than the Shades on the continent of the Forests of Hell. From what we know, it is a business relationship. But Khriss does seem to drop him into difficult places, could also be that Nazh is just curmudgeonly and likes to complain, I guess. Assuming Khriss is really dropping him into difficult situations, could be he feels really grateful to her for saving him or introducing him to the broader Cosmere, could also be an mentor-apprenticeship kinda relationship and she's just trying to prepare him for field research, maybe her pay's really good or maybe he's just simping. I hope it's not the last one. He is loyal to her, seems to be quite fond of her, didn't really react to being called her manservant, has been left stranded in inconvenient places but he still gets his job done and despite his complaints seems to genuinely enjoy what he does. This is all we really know of their relationship and it's hard to narrow it down further with what we know so far.
  17. Main characters: pain, struggle, suffering Worldhoppers and Sleepless watching them suffer: because they do that. Khriss and Nazh followed the Stormlight cast around quite a bit and the endcover blurbs are written by the Sleepless.
  18. oh, I like that, that's a great guess

    Shardcast: Kaladin

I will give people the tools to protect themselves is a beautiful 5th Ideal Windrunner oath We don't really understand the mechanics of how individuals end up more connected to certain Shards beyond their presence on their world and accessing their Investiture, do we? Like, in Mistborn, uh spoilers, I guess Thematically, it seems like acting like the Shard's Intent I guess, kind of like attuning the Rhythm of that Shard. So, Kal was really hateful in that moment, I guess There was also an old idea, which I dunno if it fits, about emotions for Odium being like metals for Allomancy. Like using emotions to fuel magic, hence Odium taking certain feelings. I dunno about that but it's a pretty cool idea, and might fit this scene.

    Quick Question

Found it, I think that's Szeth killing some Iriali duarch (like monarch but x2) also Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, there's definitely shenanigans with Kal being called the Child of Tanavast
