  1. Oh, have you read Emperor's Soul yet?
  2. Isn't the point of imprisonment, you know, imprisonment? Why was Agaris still trapped in his pool then?
  3. Go for the Arcanum Unbounded instead of getting each novella and short story separately! And beware of spoilers! With warnings out of the way, questions! Who's your favourite character so far?
  4. Hello!
  5. It was just the number of things the book was dealing with, subplots branching into more subplots. The other two books were more linear. I, personally, liked this book but it does start slow but it does deliver at the end, just keep at it!
  6. What are you trying to say here?
  7. Speaking of Makkal, I thought it was very annoying how he volunteered just enough information to keep the plot going and refused to give away more info at exactly the points where things looked like they could be resolved in order to maintain narrative tension. @Eternal Khol, was it ever said what exactly it was that allowed Makkal to go free or bond with Raeth's Aether? Other people have bonded Night before or touched it? Was it that Raeth already had a bond rather than seeking a Night Aether, in addition to his Aether being weak or something and the fact that he wasn't pushed into the Pool? Also how come I didn't notice it before? Pool! Shardpool! Those things could've been Perpendicularities! Huh, Ruin was also imprisoned in a Perpendicularity. The Elantrians also had a Pool... Were the Aedin accidentally tossing their criminals into the Cognitive Realm?
  8. I don't see why not. If anything, the grafted bits might just turn out to be easier to rip away
  9. I would say that Windrunners can use Spiritual adhesion but not at the scale of Bondsmiths, whose use of the Surges tend more towards Spiritual than the Physical. Heck, their resonance might be a result of Spiritual gravitation & adhesion
  10. Who knows? I still think that Unity is just Dalinar's interpretation of Honor's Intent. There does seem to be precedent for shared... something between Shards called Passion, which both Ruin and Odium talk about.
  11. Ocean, rather than landmass People don't really think of space (like the place) as space (like physical space), instead thinking of it as simply the other. The true distances between heavenly bodies in space is staggering but again people can't really visualize such vast distances. This, combined with there being no thinking minds in the corresponding region in deep space in the Physical Realm makes interstellar distances shrink in the Cognitive. As people get more knowledgeable and educated across the Cosmere about space, this situation may just change (though Brandon always RAFOs these questions)
  12. We don't really understand the process completely. Creating an Allomantic medallion would require an unsealed metalmind (rather than an unkeyed metalmind, which is a metalmind created by a Feruchemist while storing Identity so any Feruchemist with the relevant power can access it). Unsealed metalminds use Nicrosil, which stores Investiture itself, so anyone can use it. We also don't know what excisors are yet, which are tools involved in the creation of medallions.
  13. @Matrim's_Dice, how does Aether of Night compare with White Sand according to you?
  14. Broccoli. 6̶6̶6̶ 601 wait no, 593 @Shard of Reading you might want to correct that. 591 is not followed by 600.
  15. Hello there, welcome to the Shard! Hmm, I usually get Elsecaller or Skybreaker in the KR quizzes. I've also gotten Willshaper once. My favourite Order though, are the Lightweavers. The idea of self discovery, self actualisation, honesty with oneself just seems far better than swearing moral codes to me.
  16. It is worth watching, in my opinion. It doesn't always follow through with its developments in previous seasons though.
  17. Come on guys, vote for your favourite Elantris character and tell us why you like them!
  18. Yes, yes, I tend to ramble, no need to rub it in

  19. Hello and welcome aboard!
  20. In Warbreaker,
  21. Seriously though, it is amazing in its worldbuilding, surprisingly insightful regarding real world issues and philosophies. Many consider this the pinnacle of elemental magics in fantasy. The movements, the choreography involved in Bending is visually beautiful. The characters really grow on you. And when you're done, you can see a modern interpretation of their world in a follow-up series called the Legend of Korra, which is also quite good but follows a one storyline per season format which puts many people off
