  1. It's not Skybreakers, but Division, Dustrbingers also don't have it to start with, and Lightweavers aren't weird at all, blade at third oath, Plate at forth. All orders aside from Skybreakers and Dustbirngers have access to all of their powers from Oath 1. Well for starters Resonances aren't powers, they are effects, so no @alder24 a reverse lashing is not a resonance.
  2. Then they're probably mercenaries, Itzal thought rolling his eyes. I do wonder who hired them though. "I wouldn't, small groups and lone runners will have higher survival rates, and we'd be exposing anyone who found fortifications. Waiting this out will be best for everyone."
  3. "That's exactly the question." "Is it? Are they looking for loot? Resources? Hostages? Conscripts? Are they simply seizing the town for fortification? All of these have different objectives, priorities that change how we go about surviving. For some staying here is the best option, as having fortification with nothing to take increases our chance of survival. If they want hostages, conscripts, or fortification however, staying here dramatically reduces our chances of survival," Itzal said. He shook his head, "I don't like this."
  4. "That we have no idea who this army is, what they want, their objectives, anything. This could be a false flag opperation, it could be a third realm has joined the war, it could be a group of deserters, it could be something else entirely, and we have no way of knowing."
  5. "Then we have an entirely different problem."
  6. "Nothing much that can be done. There aren't any walls or defensive structures, this is going to be an street by street battle, and it's going to be ugly. The best we can do is hole up and make it costly, I have a few weapons that can help us out. If we become a hard enough target, they'll move on and find someone else to deal with. Mercenaries don't have great loyalty, they might try and attack us a few times, but if we can hold out they'll move on to easier targets." Itzal said.
  7. So the Thrill is an effect that comes from a Spren called Nergaoul, you'll find out more about him by the end of the book, but it's similar to Radiant bonds, but much easier to form and break and whatnot.
  8. "Wonderful." Itzal placed his hand on the stones, feeling the tower. This was a place of knowledge, it was built, crafted to give information. With a rushing sensation Itzal became aware of the entrance, he didn't see it, but the tower itself spoke to him. He would know when the army attempted to enter.
  9. Itzal whirled around, his hand instinctively reaching to his sword, as his eyes quickly scanned for potential threats. The speaker was a fey woman, who was followed closely by a shade. "We're fine thank you. Do you know who this army is, I've never seen them before?" Itzal asked forcing himself to relax.
  10. "Well Val, they aren't Ivians, and unfortunetly I don't think they're demons either." @DramaQueen
  11. Itzal let out a laugh, and lead Val to the town's belltower. It was probably one of the safer places, as it wouldn't be a high priority target, and unlike grain siloes it couldn't burn. Standing on the ledge he leaned forward trying to catch a glimps of the banner the army flew. @Channelknight Fadran
  12. "I can try, though I make no promises," Itzal said, placing a hand on his sword. "We'll want to find a taller building, if I recognise the commanders, I can probably arange for our safety through the battle, but the extra height will be good for us in the meantime."
  13. So, why do you believe that each order would have a different fifth ideal bonus instead of them all having the same one that we've seen previously in Shardblade and plate?
  14. That would require far more power than what one jar of Dor could provide. You couldn't use a standard Perpendicularity, you would have to strip the investiture of Identity somehow. No, if you really want them you can use the same cost as a third ideal Radiant of the same order.
  15. "Nonsense, I just finished up a sale, and I don't have anything better to do today..." Itzal cut off as the bells sounded, and glanced towards the oncoming army. "You might want to stay close to me actually, this could get pretty messy."
  16. Oh no you don't.
  17. Lift shot a beam of light out of her hand, all the seeds that the light touched grew exactly how she wanted them to.
  18. Yes Perfect Probably. That still leaves them prone, and very disoriented. All of this comes from WoR page 686.
  19. Itzel laughed. It had been too long since he'd seen been back to Vitera, meeting another Sprite was refreashing. "Well let's go inside and get something to eat, I can show you around Midway afterwards, how does that sound?"
  20. Kaladin also only had chips, with a limited amount of marks. With larger gems you can easily multiply their stormlight supply by over 200
  21. The Edgedancer wins, in a very brutal fashion. First they trip their opponent by slicking the ground, then they throw vinebud seeds on them and cause them to grow, the vines pin the pewterarm, while the buds dig into their flesh and bones, seeking nutrients. Finally if it's taking too long, vines grow down their mouth and sufficate them.
  22. Shadiversity made a review of the fused weapons we see in the trailer.
