  1. I asked about How actions work and later gave the action I took for the round, and the response I got was simple straightforward acknowledgement. Um probably @Aeoryi I think that's probably the correct choice. I could be convinced to vote Szeth though.
  2. So I've got a story and a plan. I was playing a game with a friend of mine who is playing a 380 pound Goliath Barbarian. He got into a stage fight with our Druid to distract a potion shop owner so the rogues could steal things. The Barbarian tries jumping on the Druid, misses and lands on the shopkeeper. The druid grabs a potion to throw on them, and the DM has him roll for it, and he ends up throwing a potion of growth, which if you don't know acts as the Enlarge part of the Enlarge/Reduce spell. I started to read what it did and stopped after reading that the weight of the character is multiplied by eight. The Barbarian goes from 380 pounds to 3040 pounds. The Storekeeper goes from solid to liquid. The attempted robbery turns into attempted genocide as we got rid of the witnesses. All in all fun session. Now for what I'm working on right now, another friend used the Aspect of Tiamat against his party once and came to the conclusion that it was too powerful, so I am making a party of 4 level 20 characters to go agaonst it. Each one gets 1 Epic boon, 3 uncommon magic items, 2 rare items and 1 very rare item, and the whole party starts with an artifact. My plan is to do: 19 level Twilight domain Cleric 1 Level Clockwork Soul Sorcerer with Boon of High magic 18 level peace domain cleric 2 level Divination Wizard with Boon of High magic 19 Level War Magic Wizard 1 Level Artificer with Boon of High magic 7 Level Oath of the Watchers Paladin, 2 Level Hex blade Warlock, 11 level Divine Soul Sorcerer. Probably boon of Spell Recall, but I might just raise his Cha to 22 instead. For the Artifact I'm taking the Mighty servant of Leuk-O as honestly I'm not sure how you're supposed to lose with that thing. Basically the idea is Twilight sanctuary and Protective bond along with liberal use of the defensive trifecta(Shield, Silvery Barbs, Absorb Elements), and massive saving throw bonuses, and the Servants huge defensive profile basically render the party untouchable while the wizard locks Tiamat down with forcecage, and by that point it's all over. I'm about halfway done with character creation, so I will hopefully have updates on this shortly.
  3. Oh dang this is getting meta. Interesting, they didn't use emoticons in mine. Can you actually kill the moderator, is that like a thing?
  4. Everyone is jumping to accuse someone, so I can't get anything there. Honestly this is a lot harder when you can't see faces... XP seems trustworthy, going for the cautious route of avoiding helping the Elims, while DeTess seems to downplay the risk of helping them... I'm still not sure enough to vote any which way.
  5. It's 5:30 PDT, so 8 hours ish.
  6. How rude. Not only do I have no idea what's happening, but I also haven't done anything, and now you're trying to kill me? I don't know about anyone else but that seems kinda murderous. Why thank you good sir.
  7. I can go to the end of October, but not beyond that.
  8. Oh alright. Wait this goes for weeks! Um..... Alright, I will most likely not be here for the whole thing, but maybe?
  9. Yes, is this just that?
  10. Can someone please explain to me what this is?!
  11. So I just finished my third book, the first draft anyway.

And um, I killed the main characters father. Again. For the third time.

And I killed the secondary characters mother. And her father, though she didn't know that.

    I think I have a problem.

      The Wandering Wizard

Well ...yeah it really doesn't cuz they'll have highs and lows and so thus aren't always happy or always sad

      BUT THEY’RE ALWAYS TRAUMATIZED

      Trauma is good.

Always getting it by killing their parents is predictable.

There are other ways but that one is always a good one :P

  12. Spren can break the bond without any risk to themselves.
  13. Sure. I have no idea what I'm doing.
  14. So Brandon averages 2% on Stormlight Archive 5 a week assuming a 400,000 page book.

That's only 8,000 words and he does 6 days a week, and 4 hours of writing a day.

That's an average of 333ish words per hour.

I've been getting close to 500 per hour.

    Am I faster than Brandon?

@dannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnex I have no way of knowing.

@ΨιτιsτηεΒέsτ I already said that Brandon is assuming that it will be 400,000 words when he says he does 2% a week. He knows the book will probably be longer, but that is what he is assuming in order to get a percentage.

  15. He was willing to sacrifice the entire world to save one city, why not one world to save the Cosmere? Honor's heir is the Stormfather which is why I say he needs to kill both of them.
  16. Is there any metric of any credibility that doesn't hold LotR as one of if not the best pieces of fiction ever created?
  17. I'm going to disagree here. Plot holes are part of how I judge a book, if the author cared about their work enough to ensure their aren't any plot holes then it's probably pretty good. Example: LotR is some 70 years old and has exactly zero plot holes. (To others reading this who are not Fadran: Don't give me the whole 'theu could fly the eagles to Mordor' that is a movie problem. The books explained quite well that they needed to be sneaky, and giant eagles are not sneaky.) Excellent piece of work. Compare this to say Harry Potter, which is only some 27 years old and it's like a reverse swiss cheese. Small pockets of consistent plot suspended in a massive hole of inconsistency. End result: pretty mid and getting worse every year.
  18. Yeah, one death. One. After the Tower fell which should have been the single most devastating loss to the Radiant forces. Odium's performance was so underwhelming that he stopped being a threat, which was why Brandon replaced him.
  19. Can you name them without looking at the book? That's how little they mattered. If the character isn't a PoV character their death doesn't mean much.
  20. I wouldn't call that interfering as Dalinar hasn't locked his champion in yet. I'd have to look at the specific wording on that but I don't think that's an issue.
  21. That's the problem, I want it to happen, but I know it won't. Honestly it's ruining SA for me, more people need to die.
  22. Jasnah didn't declare atheism until the feast where Gavilar died, and she was a child at the time, Elhokar hadn't even been born yet.
