So how many magic systems does roshar have?
Rorzikel replied to Rg2045's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Surgebinding. Voidbinding. Fabrials. Singer Gemheart bonds with subspren. For me a magic system is a grouping of closely related powers that share similarities in their function and/or how they are obtained, and are used by sapient beings. It doesn’t cover everything perfectly but neither do concepts like species.- 29 replies

The chapter that epigraph was in was also the first chapter that Sazed ever appeared in.

TwinSoul is an entirely new character in both published and unpublished books. Never been seen before.

I might have misread what you meant to say unless your edit took something out. Was more trying to add information about who those gods might be based on early concepts of Yolen than contradict the service part.

Strife and innovation - why Discord might be what Scadrial needs
Rorzikel replied to radren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't think suffering itself is helpful, but I do think the justified fear that Autonomy or other outside forces might return to wage war would drive progress. It seems what Sazed wants to trigger is equal parts Space Race and arms race which is different from things like the Fremen concept which is both historically inaccurate and unlikely to produce technological progress. -
Yeah. Personally, I'd like for it not to be the Shards, it fills out the worldbuilding more than the only two options for Cosmere religions are either they were fake/unprovable or were based on the Shards themselves/their direct servants. Part of the reason I like the new Aether lore as well. There's so much crazy stuff possible in universe, seems a shame for it all to be the same sixteen entities.

The problem definitely was one more of the durability of him and the goldminds he'd be depending on- basically he'd be bloodmisted instantly and any gold would be spread like atomized scattershot. Maybe if he had a stomach full of pewter and duralumin'd while tapping an immense amount of Health to take advantage of the increased toughness w/ healing factor but I'm unsure of his odds.

How Harmony could break his deadlock and act
Rorzikel replied to Vin(Diesel)'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'd be surprised if Sazed could win against Autonomy, vessel against vessel. She's got like ten thousand years of experience on him and she's very active and willing to engage in aggression.- 20 replies

From the publically available Dragonsteel chapters we know that in that draft the Sho Del's gods were dragons.

That's not how AoN aethers worked. The Ferrous aether as its primary use turned its bonded humans into Corpates which were metal machines that could be used to make vehicles or light fixtures etc. It wasn't like soulcaster savants where the body transformation was an unfortunate side effect of the power, the Corpates were the primary use of Ferrous. Bestarin could make you have animal bodyparts, but that was also the main purpose, one would intentionally cut off pieces of an animal to replace parts of their human body or to heal wounds. Neither Verdant nor Amberite or the god aethers made their bonded users into vines or crystal or darkness or light.

No, I don't think I am. Brandon himself describes Kelsier as having clinical psychopathy. All this talk about revenge twisting you and always being wrong, and Kelsier is completely about murderous revenge against the nobility and the Lord Ruler for what happened to Mare and him.

I'm greatly amused by the similarities between Moash and a certain thieving crew leader's attitudes on the righteousness of violent revenge (even against those merely a part of the corrupt system to feed their families), and how often the exact same people can adore said crew leader and despise Moash simply because of how Brandon has written the PoV characters' relationships with the two of them and their levels of charisma. I have no doubt that if Moash had been a main character and people had to read about his grandparents' death from his perspective, that people would be clamoring for Elhokar's blood.

I don't think it's possible to completely store all of your connections, the others don't seem to work that way. From what I remember, anyways, it seemed like there was limit where a feruchemist could store up to that point and no further. If you can though, I agree with the others that storing all of your connections seems unwise.

Boosting a non-shardic world's manifestations of investiture?
Rorzikel replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
Depending on how Allomantically burning Hemalurgic spikes that are Blanked in Identity works, perhaps you can splice yourself into a higher form of being that has enhanced children. -
I think the key may be connection based magics to connect yourself to the piece of Investiture and a Command to manifest or solidify.

You could pass on the medallions. -
Boosting a non-shardic world's manifestations of investiture?
Rorzikel replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
I think the most effective way to do this is give them a bunch of nicrosil compounder medallions so that they can raise their level of investment. -
Fortune seems to be more precognition of possible futures than it does to be probability manipulation.

At least in the artwork he wears a crown. And I’m talking about the realistic versions that are being made of each of the heralds.

Sam Hock Is there a connection between Sak's talent and Allomantic electrum? If so, what is it? Brandon Sanderson Yes. Reading a person's spiritual connections and possibilities. Similar powers, as is atium. General Twitter 2015 (April 17, 2015) Atium and Fortune themselves are reading Connection. Ishar can totally do that off his Bondsmithing.

Why voidspren are intelligent in the Physical without a Nahel bond
Rorzikel replied to Rorzikel's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Unmaking Ba-Ado-Mishram. If what Mathiau was saying was real then removing the spren's ability to think in the PR without a bond would be a grave betrayal even if it was by accident. -
Why voidspren are intelligent in the Physical without a Nahel bond
Rorzikel replied to Rorzikel's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Maybe that's the great betrayal that the spren hate the Singers for. -

Most likely, yeah. -
Potentially huge revelation in the Elantris bonus chapter
Rorzikel replied to Ba-Ado-Fisherman's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I dunno, Reverse Lashings have the same sort of effect and I don't think those are anti-stormlight. -
They do have a Nahel bond. To Odium. This is what enables Ulim to think while Syl and the Radiant spren are reduced to subspren.
