Short answer is that we don't know yet.

Long answer: Since they're just on Roshar right now, a speed-of-light type movement through the CR or PR would certainly still work, since they're close enough together that there wouldn't be a noticeable difference. Then again, a transfer to the SR, location shifting, then back to PR would also work, if done the right way.

I know we don't know yet.  I also hadn't seen any posts on this particular idea and wanted to see what people thought about it.

That was the closest answer I could find.  This is really meant to be a speculation and not something I am expecting an answer on from anyone.  I just like sharing theories

  3. So I checked some WoBs, and a few different posts and didn't see an answer to this (I could be wrong which seems to happen every other time I come up with a "new" or "cool" idea)

Could the instantaneous travel from the Oathgates be because they go through the Spiritual Realm?  If all things are everywhere, maybe the OG platforms do their little switcheroo there.

Possible W words: Wit, Ways, Winds, Warlord, Watch, Wedding, Welfare, Whales (Spacewhales?), White

My possible combinations: King of Wit, Kale of Whales, Knight of White (?), Kingdom of Winds, Kangaroo on Watch, etc.

  5. Radiant spren can become anything they want, though we only ever see dead spren as swords.

What about the spren that chose to become other things than weapons?  Could that be where some of the ancient fabrials came from?  Maybe Soulcasters are really dead Inkspren, and the fabrial used by Nale was a dead cultivationspren?

@Impact thanks :-) yours looks cool also :-)

I do agree it would be a little strange for a megaspren for flesh if they all represent the essence of flesh, but it could be a spren that represents them just as they represent the spren for the different orders, so the megaspren above the megaspren. So if each spren for the different orders was at the bottom of a triangle, the layer above them would be the megaspren for each order, and the top would be a spren for the megaspen, itself still part of them but above them. While the Stormfather and Nightwatcher in theory represent the essence of flesh due to the Bondsmiths, just as Windrunners represent the essence of wind due to their spren, and Edgedancers represent crystal, etc., they don't seem to have a strong link to it in appearance, so a spren representing that seems to be missing, with all other essences being matched to how the spren look.

. maybe that is where the Unmade came from, the superspren of the megaspren being split into nine and then changed ...

I do like the idea of the Unmade being somehow related to megaspren, because that's kind of what they are already

  7. These are very interesting ideas.

@Bigmikey357, The attached WoB below *kind of* talks about how there were more sentient spren than the 10 Orders, and theoretically some could form bonds

    Questioner

One. Can there be Nahel Bonds with more then ten types of spren because we have ten Orders.

    Brandon Sanderson

Meaning, are there other possible spren that could form other Orders of Knights Radiant that are not the ten? This is theoretically possible, but that is basically what you could argue is happening to Renarin. So now if you want to say... if you want to throw out the exception of spren who were one of the ten who got changed, then this is theoretically possible but right now currently wouldn't work.

@Ixthos, I really like the megaspren representing essences and orders.  Though wouldn't there only be nine, because the tenth order is them?  Also, love your avi

But Dalinar's third ideal doesn't seem to have ANYTHING to do with the second.  The second was "I will unite instead of divide."  That's great.  It fits with Bondsmith very well, considering their role and their surges.  But that has nothing to do with being a good person, which is essentially what his third ideal was.  "I will take responsibility for my past, and if I should fall, I will rise again each time a better man."  That's a personal ideal, and does nothing to clarify or support the second.  It is essentially saying "I will strive to make myself better," which has nothing to do with uniting other people.

I kind of disagree.  I think that taking responsibility for yourself is integral to uniting.  Uniting people is taking responsibility for others, when you think about it.  And not owning your own faults often turns people against you.  Its not as obvious, but to me, the connection is there and very strong

I think that was a Dustbringer, Karg. I read that as benefits of having a Shardplate or a living Shardplate

Hmm, okay that sounds reasonable. But the resistance can't be too much since the Windrunner was able to lash the other Radiant or there is a way to overcome it, possibly simply more Investiture expensive (whose plate colour I've forgotten, except remembering that it wasn't one of the Orders with the Surge of Progression, so she probably had a fabrial)

Hope we get to see Shardplate manifestation soon

During the flight part of the vision, the Windrunner tells Dalinar that he (the other radiant) had to remove his (her) armor to be lashed

Didn't wearing Shardplate interfere with Lashing?

They couldn't lash *other* people's shardplates.  In the Starfall vision where Dalinar takes the place of the (Stoneward?) Radiant, the Windrunner who is powering the flight is wearing Shardplate, I believe.

    Hey guys, first post!

Had a question, and couldn’t find the answer anywhere. We know Rock can see spren. Which implies he’s able to slip into the cognitive realm somewhat. Since he can see spren, does he recognize shardblades as dead spren?

He might be able to partially see into the cognitive realm, which is also been a theory for singers, due to the singer blood in the horneater ancestors.

That said, I don't think he would be able to recognize a shardblade as a dead spren, because I would assume he would have mentioned it at some point due to his reverence.

    3 hours ago, Honorless said:

Could be why his brother failed to get a Shardblade, because it screamed at him (The Unkalaki didn't have any Blade or Plate, so they wouldn't have known)

I think his brother failed to get a shardblade because first he dueled for Shardplate, and likely no one would give him access to a blade. If he was able to borrow the King's blade, it likely has to do with not having any training with a Shardblade.

I believe the Liss and Ash are two different people . However even though Liss knows  Jasnah , I have a observation . For the sake of argument Let’s say Liss is a Herald . And she is known to Jasnah . Can she not change her appearance at will ? At the Time of Jezrien death by Moash . Jezrian appeared as and old spinely beggar . Other descriptions of him do not match this image . So the theory is he perceived himself as old and frail so appearance changed to reflect this . While Ash still look as youthful as always . So the Heralds probably have an ability similar to the Returned on Nalthis and can change thier appearance depending how they see themselves . So Liss could be right next to Jasnah and change her appearance and kind of use that as a disguise if she wants to see herself  as youthful and or elderly if she chose .... just a thought . Has anyone else considered this !!!

I don't believe he looked old because he outwardly changed his appearance.  I think that had to do more with how he didn't care for himself (being blitzed constantly, always covered in grime and nastiness) and that gave him a more aged appearance.  Books use that as a device a lot, someone living on the street and dirty looks far older than they are really, and being drunk all the time would start to give one a more wizened and sunken look.
