Personally, that was the moment I lost respect for Dalinar. And then the situation with having Amaram as the head of the new Knights Radiant... oof. He eventually made good but I felt as betrayed as Kaladin.

If some guy who you've know for maybe a month started slandering someone you've known for years, you'd want to get the facts straight before really taking sides.  Which Dalinar did.  And that doesn't even account for the very complex politics involved.

Right may be right, but the right course isn't always simple and sometimes needs to be fleshed out

And how much time did it take according to you?

Let's say 10-15 years.  2-3 for the humans to decide to get extra space, and 4-5 for Fused to happen, and the rest for the Oathpact to form and the Fused to be defeated

I mean, I like Lynn and I like Kaladin, but I think her and Zigsal (sorry about spelling, I'm an audible guy) are better. They have a little more in common as both literate and outsiders.

Also they are both closer in degree of focus in the books. Maybe if she got more screen time I'd be more natural.

I could see her and Sigzil (here ya go) making a pair.  It's not a bad theory.

  4. This might be a podcast theory but the way I see it is this:

Humans come to Roshar peacefully and with all intent to chill in Shinovar.  After a relatively short time (few years maybe) some or all fo the humans decide "Oh oh, I want some more, oh oh, what are we waiting for" (cue that song) and bust over the mountains.  Being humans, and from a land that was just destroyed they got the inspiration to wage a Sherman's March to the Sea Scorched Roshar Desolation on the Singers.  Singers felt betrayed by their gods who had asked them to take in the humans, and start looking to Odium.  The Fused are formed.  Desolation one is now in full swing. Humans are getting whomped because they think they kill the Fused, but the Fused are all "nuh uh, suckas" and come back with an unholy vengeance.  Thus, the Oathpact is formed, locking them on Braize.

Then the Desolation Cycle of the Heralds breaking begins.

YES PLEASE!! That would be awesome!!

So the best group is the Legacy Initiative. They don’t always wear the super suits but they dress in a sort of uniform. They do a ton of homeless outreach and occasionally street safety patrols.

When you reach out, tell them Impact sent you (it’s my RLSH name). If they don’t respond, let me know. And I’ll look for anyone else in the area.

I've always wanted to be one of these fellows, it sounds so cool!! I'm from Utah BTW, welcome to the shard :)

Thank you!  And you can be one!  The cheesy answer I always give (and fully believe) is that if you go out of your way to help people, you are one.  But if you want to do the whole shebang (supersuit and cool name) there are teams located in Utah I can direct you to

Welcome officially to the Shard, Impact!

    I'll ask, Superhero.....? Go on.......

Real Life Superhero (RLSH) is a subculture, mostly in America, but around the world also, that goes out and does community service using personae of superheroes that they create. I work with a group that does homeless outreach, fundraising for local charities, and street safety walks making sure that folks get home safely.

then again, Sazeium not only works better, mostly acts like atium/lerasium in name, but also sounds like Cesium, which it does act like, exploding in water.

I agree wholeheartedly.  I always think that Sazedium sounds like something you'd actually find on the periodic table

Oh, in that setting certainly.  Politicians and public speakers too, I would think.  I got the sense it was frown upon to Sooth/Riot people without their knowledge, but was relatively acceptable in curcumstances where it was expected, like a concert or political rally

Not even sure it would be acceptable, but you know someone would do it.

Therapists yes, and I think they said there were recreational bars/clubs/dens for that too, but wasnt there mention of it being illegal to use emotional allomancy on shop customers?

I meant more in business meetings than for customers.  Still wouldn't be great, but I could see it being done

He's also really good at stealing or "trading".  Maybe his resonance is having an innate sense of knowing when people aren't looking or distracted enough to make a swap.

I like this theory.  It could also be that he is more dexterous than he should be because of the healing and speed bubble

Pretty simple answer: Harmonium sounds better.

    youshallnotpass

Will there be a metal called harmonium in the mistborn world?

    Brandon Sanderson

    RAFO. But good question.

    WeiryWriter

Just an fyi but you have confirmed the existence of harmonium before. (And this is probably a RAFO, but is there a reason you didn't follow the convention of the other "god metals" and call it something like sazedium? "Harmonium" just seems out of place.)

    Brandon Sanderson

Sazed didn't like the sound of Sazedium.

    Fair enough, thanks

I guess that there is a sacred tradition that custodianship of a Honorblade is for life, so they felt that they couldn't take it away from Szeth even after they named him Truthless. When that Shin farmer told Vstim that their society could hardly afford another one like Szeth, this is, retroactively looking, likely what he truly meant, IMHO.

I viewed it as he showed aptitude for fighting and thus became a soldier, which is a lower caste, generally.  I always assumed that he had the blade due to his aptitude, though he was not necessarily respected for it.  More like he was a dangerous weapon to be used.

My current speculation is that this spren is his current highspren - particularly with his thought when swearing his third oath from chapter 121 of Oathbringer:

Whilst it says nothing explicit about the length of the bond with this spren that way of describing it sounds a little too familiar if Szeth had no relationship with it before swearing the second ideal in Oathbringer additionally "even still" implies that the relationship with this spren has changed in some way over time - but if he only met this spren after swearing the second ideal their relationship would have been very short.

Though I am not certain of this point and also it feels too similar in some ways to Shallan's past.

Very possible.  I am still a little unsure that it is his current spren, because, like you said, that would be very similar to Shallan, and he may not have impressed the highspren before becoming truthless, otherwise it would make sense for it to have become known to him earlier and proven that he wasn't truthless after all.  He could have met the spren before swearing the second ideal, and just had it following him.  Or if he did meet it after the second, that just implies that its strange the spren had not made itself known after what they ahd been through.
