  1. I feel like the actual physical substance the metal is made of has the potential to be quite simple; Duralumin. The epigraphs all throughout the preview chapters have been cementing the fact that the Allomantic metals function as modifiers in fabrials, altering the behavior of the spren inside. Aluminum blocks investiture, so it makes perfect sense (to me, at least) that its alloy conducts investiture (makes it easier for Investiture to move from point A to point B). And wouldn't you know, that alloy is Duralumin. As for what exactly that would induce in a fabrial itself, I'm not 100% sure on yet. But in this case it seems to allow the gemstone to siphon Investiture from another source when the Duralumin is touching it.
  2. with regards to using Breath in fabrials I'm more intrigued by the possibility of enhancing/empowering Spren with Breath (my life to yours, my breath become yours) to augment them, and then using them to make a fabrial.
  3. YES.
  4. That's why I'm partial to Knights of Wind or something, another in world book about Radiants.
  5. I see no reason they couldn't be created. The Southerners just have few metalborn compared to Elendel and the like, so once the manufacturing process spreads, Unsealed allomantic medallions could become more widespread. Secondly I'm fairly sure the Bands are just an F-Nicrosil medallion with loads of Unkeyed Nicrosilminds and other Metalminds, one Nicrosilmind for each of the 32 powers, and 1 metalmind for each feruchemical power, since we've never seen a Medallion with more than 2 (or 3?) "unsealed" powers. I could be wrong though.
  6. if you REALLY want to dodge spoilers, just leave a browser tab open on that discussion thread and never leave that thread on that tab. then have another general-purpose 17th shard tab for other forum browsing and just don't look at the RoW spoilers zone with it.
  7. I believe he said that "by the end of RoW" all of the remaining shards' names will be canonized. So I think one of our noteworthy worldhoppers is gonna show up and name-drop them (probably Hoid if he's around for it, maybe Khriss if she shows up)
  8. Assuming that Medallions can also temporarily grant Allomancy as well as Feruchemy (basically just Unsealed Nicrosil with an allomantic power inside), then there could be pretty much any Twinborn combination on-demand, to an extent. Duralumin mistings would be in high-demand, as their power could finally be used in tandem with other allomantic abilities again. Aluminum mistings... not so much. Still pretty useless, except for the relatively niche use of "burn away all your leftover metals at the end of the day without having their effects take place". Anybody could become a Compounder, which would make both Gold powers EXCESSIVELY valuable. Pewter compounding might be as well, due to the sheer amount of physical work you could get done. People with more cognitive-work based jobs would probably take either Zinc or Bronze compounding. maybe Bendalloy (speed bubble AND a massive reserve of food and water). Chromium compounding... If I'm right about how that'd work (increasing your Fortune to the point where you pull an Elend and see the future in great detail) then that could be in high demand for all sorts of people, which... would probably wreck it's usefulness. All the conflicting future sight would work like 2 allomancers burning Atium, and destructively interfere. So it would have to be kept as secret as possible to be usable. Hm... That's all I got for now.
  9. Then I'll choose to think it's Concentrationspren, for now. It fits, and leaves Logicspren for the Truthwatchers.
  10. Well you can be the best soulcaster ever
  11. I similarly thought of this due to their connection with Gravitation, and since those spren in the art don't resemble Starspren (connecting to the Highspren's appeance as a rift with a starry sky beyond it), I'm inclined to agree moreso now.
  12. ...Yyyyyyyyyep. That's exactly what happened.
  13. Alright, let me grab the actual WoB so you can decide what he meant on your own.
  14. I mean, imagine how useful someone like that would be on a construction site. It would be one of the most practical compounder types, i think.
  15. Personal hypothesis (based partly on her name of Dustmother, partly on her alleged involvement in the Scouring of Aimia with Yelig-Nar) is that she can degrade the sense of logic that people have, making them do stupid or dangerous stuff in pursuit of reasonable goals... dangerous stuff like agreeing to use Yelig-Nar's power for "good purposes", but then falling victim to his power, and thus causing the Scouring.
  16. Except we have WoB that F Nicrosil stores "Like a coppermind", which means it DOES take something and permanently remove it from you, like how copper removes a memory from you.
  17. Gut feeling based on the Willshapers' ideals vs the way Autonomy is being described here is actually that they'd be exact counters to one another; Willshapers seek freedom for everyone, but this interpretation of Autonomy seeks to remove everyone's freedom and make them all "her".
  18. Pewter compounding is the most broadly useful for "everyday work" that normal people can technically do. Like construction, metalworking, sports, deliveries, etc. Immense amounts of endurance and physical strength, would just make that work easier for you than any non metalborn.
  19. I usually see those called Epigraphs
  20. I'm fairly sure there's a size limit on the amount of actual metal they can manifest that isn't much bigger than the average default Shardblade. They also can't manifest as 2 or more individual pieces of metal, since that would split the spren itself into more than one piece.
  21. Well we do know that it's more challenging to return from Shadesmar, even for Elsecallers, that might be subdued by doubling it up.
  22. I believe so, yes! Thanks.
  23. One hypothesis I've heard is that the madness of the Heralds is due to them literally breaking (spiritually) during their torment on Braize, which then left behind fragments of their spiritwebs that Odium snatched up and imbued with power to create an Unmade, based on whichever Herald broke and set them free.
  24. Pseudo 6th ideal/direct supply of Investiture for them.
  25. Something something quantum field theory everything is a frequency in different quantum fields woooooo ...My brain is just all over the place today. Maybe I had too much coffee...
