  1. Leona gave up on actually having dinner with the rest of the group, and pulled pizza out of the fridge.
  2. *incomprehensible screaming*
  3. Perhaps Adonalsium was gradually grinding to a halt with the various aspects warring against each other. (Ruin/preservation, Honor/odium, and so on) If Adonalsium was the closest thing to a government or ruling body and it broke down, this would cause a lot of problems. This could have made some of the vessels assume that taking apart Adonalsium to get the universe moving again was the noble decision.
  4. Leona walked into the kitchen. After many hours slaving away at her pre-cal homework, she was done. Finally. "Anyone got a clue as to what we're having for dinner?"
  5. “I believe you stray into sarcasm.” “Funny, I thought I’d run into it screaming at the top of my lungs.”
  6. Leona saw Ben walk in and sit down. She waved him over. "Ben, this is Jamie. She eats metal and apparently gets powers from it."
  7. YKYASW: You yell at sticks. You are mad that tumblr still allows pictures of safehands. (the horror! the obscenity!) You have a very irrational fear of baked goods. The phrase "took your/my Breath away" terrifies you. You pretend to summon shardblades. When you stub your toe, you scream something about one of the heralds or "RUST AND RUIN" You have numerous bracelets metalminds. You make up Ideals and swear them. You named your pet after a spren. You have your background/profile pic on your laptop/tablet/phone/account set to something sanderson.
  8. "I mean, there's a little under twenty of us radiants here," chimed in Leona. "Some of 'em I haven't seen in a while, but there's other houses besides this one."
  9. the orders and standardized testing Windrunners: Does what they think is right, and tries to protect the rest of the class from the horrors of testing Skybreakers Follow instructions to the letter, bubbles in each answer with prescision. Dust bringers: Set the room on fire because testing is boring and the teacher didn’t say not to Edgedancers: Tries to help others and gets in trouble. Truthwatchers: They heal everyone from the horrors of testing Lightweavers: Lie and say they studied, lightweaves their answers into perfection. Elsecallers: Already know everything, but triple check their answers just in case Willshapers wait there was a test?! Stonewards: finishes early and uses tension and cohesion to mold eraser into weird shapes Bondsmiths: Adhere the to scantron to a perfect score.
  10. *slaps hand over heart* IF MY SMOL BOI KALADIN DIES I DIE TOO.
  11. “Oh. I guess that makes sense. But why come to a house full of people who don’t have your powers?” Leona asked.
  12. nobody: not a single sorry soul: not even their mother: Me: *deep inhale* have you guys heard of our lord and savior Brandon Sanderson?
  13. "Wait. Back up." Leona said. "You say you're burning metals? Like lighting them on fire? How does that even..." she trailed off. She supposed Jamie would explain. but you can't burn metal questioned onyx it isn't flammable "I'm assuming it is figurative. Like an idiom." oh.
  14. Leona followed and flopped onto a sofa. "I suppose I need to introduce myself. I'm Leona, and an Elsecaller. Basically means I can make things into other things and teleport. Want some cake?"
  15. In most traditional faerie stories, iron blocks magic. The next choice for modern authors is usually silver or a made-up metal (celestial bronze, imperial gold, the rider-sword-metal from Eragon). My thought is that Sanderson wanted something new and original (like why stormlight has ten elements instead of four). Also of note is that Aluminium is soft (for a metal) and so making effective weapons out of it is difficult. It seems that aluminum was meant to be a passive measure against magic.
  16. I found Warbreaker and The Way of Kings on Goodreads. Placed a hold on them. Two weeks later, took the books home. Realized the expanse of the cosmere and was hooked. (when it's finished, it'll be more expansive than the MCU)
  17. Granted. The onion is the property of John Wick, who is angered at the loss of his onion. I wish for an unlimited supply of books I will enjoy.
  18. Leona walked back inside, Azriel strapped to her back. Sparring was probably over for the day. She saw a new girl in the dining room, standing by Doc. "Who's this?"
  19. Each order (excluding lightweavers) has four order-specific oaths. Each order also has two divine attributes. For the windrunners, these are protecting and leading. The first two seem to focus on protecting This leads me to believe that the second two oaths will focus on leadership. (Oathbringer spoilers) I don't know if it has to do with his reluctance to lead, but it is still notable.
  20. "Maybe no using surges on people?" Leona asked. "That would prevent the kind of insane full-body damage this is."
  21. "Probably. Their stormlight could only take care of so much, but fortunately, we have Ben." She gestured over to to the edgedancer. "Anyways, they should be fine in an hour or two."
  22. "Rob has some pretty bad burns. I guess we know that division works on people now. Ben's fixing him up. He should be fine." Turning to flid, she said "Rob and Shana were sparring and she hit him with division. It's not good."
  23. "Oh my goodness," yelled Leona. "Are you okay?" She dropped Azriel in the grass and ran over to Shana.
