  1. Vivenna is looking for Nightblood and the man who brought it to Roshar. I don't think we will have any other answers until Nightblood comes out.
  2. Plenty of nobles might want to have a place like Club's workshop.
  3. Sort of. Voidbringers is a term with far to many religious connotations to be used exactly. It can refer to the singers, voidspren, the fused or humans depending on the context. The human exodus from Ashyn is currently believed to have been caused by the use of magic that destroyed most of the habitual areas(so they drove themselves out). However the belief that voidbringers caused the exodus is likely the result of extremely poor record keeping during the desolations. Odium is the void. Parshmen can bond his spren to gain forms of power or be used by the fused for bodies. The Parshmen or singers worship spren much like the horneaters do referring to them as gods. This is a cultural and biological thing(as by bonding them they gain forms of power). Humans likely began to refer to the singers as voidbringers many years ago after the term lost context and just started to mean "those evil guys."
  4. Except Ashyn magic was different prior to the human exodus.
  5. 23%%%%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Agreed. Odium says only three shards that need concern you and while trusting him is usually a bad idea I think in this case he was being honest.
  7. His voice and laughter also sound a lot like buzzing.
  8. His humming is essentially Mores code played extremely quickly. If you do this it sounds like buzzing.
  9. I personally think that the judicious use of assassination under the right circumstances is permissible or even laudable. How does denying this or rationalizing this make it better? You are killing people.
  10. So these assassins are under the command of their government's supreme civil authority who also happens to be the religious authority. How is this evil?
  11. Plenty of governments train assassins including our own. This still does not make the religion inherently evil.
  12. Not less important just difficult to understand.
  13. Shallan is a truly amazing lightweaver. Also I always thought that the Cryptics have some method of monitoring her progress and mindset. How else would they know who to send radiant spren to? Still he might have actually been lying or just testing the waters to see how their relationship was(although that is a bit out of character for him).
  14. Yes please! Horneater culture has always fascinated me but I can't wait for 6th's story.
  15. I have always believed that the boon and curse of old magic is what the Nightwatcher does because she needs part of your soul. I think she takes part of your soul and gives back part from her collection. We have seen no other boon and curses in any other Rosharan system.
  16. Welcome
  17. In general on Roshar Storms are physically dangerous but also necessary for the life they have there. The Stormfather is considered mythologically to be the one who sends them. The average Rosharan probably regards him the same way the ancient Egyptians regarded the gods of the river. Dangerous but also life giving. Everything else is defiantly RAFO.
  18. I also love that their progress is in not really analogues to ours in most ways. To often I feel that it authors just do what we did but with magic as a facilitator or addition. Roshar is advancing along entirely different but also sensible lines.
  19. So in other words the Diagram is a bunch of misinformation(or real information with a bit of misinformation contained in it) designed to mislead Odium?
  20. I personally would prefer if you just awakened a large dragonish creature. It might help with efficiency as well because more lifelike shapes are generally easier to awaken.
  21. Sure but there is also no limit to the number of underlying problems a capable intelligent and morally upright individual can have. So we are still working on the same problem.
  22. My point was not about the increased number of people it was about the increased number of critical points. If she had(because killing family members is our baseline) killed another two of her brothers for entirely different reasons and then suppressed those memories for different reasons revealing them would also be a separate truth. Since similar critical point can happen a great many numbers of times we could be looking at anything between 3 and 15 truths and it would not feel unreasonable.
