  1. Welcome.
  2. If a person is invested enough Soothing will work worse on them.
  3. Granted. You are now loveless and pitiable(did you not read book 7 carefully?). I wish for more time.
  4. Could mean a lot of things. However I doubt we will get the semiconscious all control Gaia you theorized even by the most liberal interpretation.
  5. On the other hand they seem to be much more powerful then soothing. People don't notice it as easily it is more insidious and it can effect people in shardplate(they should be shielded).
  6. . Sorry but no.
  7. A good thought but incorrect. There is a more explicit WoB too but I can't find it right now.
  8. Just having investiture will have that effect as investiture resists investiture. Abrasion might be better because you can coat yourself in it but illusions will work to or just sucking in stormlight. Lift does seem to have some excellent interpersonal and communication skills considering her background as a reclusive thief with no close friends.
  9. If you are going to throw in the Theylen city guard then I am putting in the dozens or hundreds of fused in this calculation. Most of the army was easily distracted(like Kolass could be) by Shallan's illusions.
  10. For alomancy at least yeah. A there spirits are connected to preservation no matter where they are and they can use metal to draw it out through their bodies. The IRE have some kind of CR investiture pipeline. That is all I can really think of.
  11. If it was like that they we would have more. Part of that story is that those accumulated over time so they went from only the emperor having them to common use items in some cities. A larger amount of instantaneous transport could save innumerable lives. How many is more then strictly necessary? None of which seem to be as fast or as good.
  12. Hate to say this but I think through the spiritual realm is generally the answer.
  13. This could be Narak. They are winning the battle but it does not matter. Because the everstorm is coming and the Highstorm oh Stormfather what have you done! The lights fail seems like oathgate transport draining the fabrial light and they come rasping could be the fused.
  14. Lol. I thought you meant the other way. As in computers being sapiant could alter the content.
  15. Depends. Many criminals might have been wanted alive and whatever legal system existed my have had detailed interrogations of Wax regarding his capture. "What was this man doing when you caught him? Robbing this train car. Are there any other witnesses? Three sir. The conductor and two passengers..." He also would likley have swapped tips with other lawmen and it may have been to his advantage to publicize certain of his exploits. They would still hide him if he asked. Also How to you reconcile these three statements?
  16. They would but the number of magnitudes would probably be less. Unless TLR has millions of battle hardened troops that he can call on. Your 1000 Radiants would be outnumbered a few hundread to one. That sounds bad except when you realize that at theylen field we are dealing with a good 10,000 of Armaram's troops vs 7 Radiants several of whom (Dalinar, and Lift) are not even fighting! I would also like to point out that all of these Radinats were on their own more or less making them quite easy to flank and pin down.
  17. Last I checked my computer had not developed sapience...
  18. Hasen't Urithiru been abandoned for thousands of years? Wouldn't this also indicate there be more of them? After several millennia of buildup?
  19. It is one of my favorite WoK chapters. It is also true. I agree. I just did not want someone else to misinterpret the statement and pop up some other theory using my speculation as a point of fact.
  20. What other constraints can you think of?
  21. The first largely. Plenty of other Inkspren and Lightspren exist. The Radiants had ample time.
  22. Either works. I am sure Navani knowns the answer. I do not.
  23. It was a point of clarity. I was worried about making assumptions with incomplete data. We don't actually know that the reason that Vin is immune to emotional alomancy when burning copper is that the coppercloud is denser at the source. It does seem to be a reasonable conjecture but so did my Nightblood is a hemalurgically spiked divine breath theory. My claim is thus. Your evidence is thus. My point of clarity is thus. As we have never seen this be attempted. I personally do not think you can conclude from Vin pushing against TRLs soothing that it is true. You are free to disagree. This argument is also rapidly approaching the point where one of us starts getting errorgent.
  24. Depends on your definition of metal. They have a lot of semiconductors and much of your computer is probably plastic and silicon.
  25. I have seen similar theories before. I personally disagree as if you can make any number of oathgates you should just make as many as possible.
