  1. Laws probably. Ideals? They don't seem to have much of a problem killing humans provided they don't exterminate them.
  2. My point is that strictly speaking Winzik does not violate any of the ideals of the superiority. His actions are still a shooting offense hence I conclude that it is the superiority that is a failure not Winzik's capability to follow the ideals it lays out.
  3. 2. This character often associates with a divinity.
  4. No to another shard. Honor or Cultivation maybe.
  5. Still no. When do I drop the next clue?
  6. I find it odd that both you and the superiority agree that the only morally objectionable actions in the universe come about as a result of aggression and or destructive action. Plenty of bad things can happen through neglect, ignorance, or lack of empathy. An individual who is unable to control their aggression must be removed from society for the safety of everyone involved. An individual who attempts to exploit and manipulate people by appealing to their ignorance and lack of empathy(as Winzik is doing) well. Hanging is too good for them.
  7. Syl explains this. Spren create other spren out of investature. Only one parent. This does not preclude other romantic relationships between spren of course.
  8. I know I pointed this out Here however in the scene referenced Hoid could have been using Yolish Lightweaving for example.
  9. I think way too much happens in SA to make a viable movie. A TV show maybe. I want this(although maybe not every episode). I would also want an online competition for each Shallan drawing.
  10. I don't think that would be particularly noteworthy. Think about how much stormlight such a fabrail would need and compare it to what a couple archers can do. Guns are important because they are easy to use and cheap to manufacture not because(until the 19th century ish) they are that much better for fighting. Agreed. Hm. Maybe it was something about Moash? Wait wait wait just realized. We know fabrails can use any surge. It stands to reason they can use void surges also. Dun Dun!
  11. I think a thread like this already exists. A Navani Venli team up Willshaper stuff(what is up with transportation?) Sibiling reveal Taravangain and his diagram's dastardly schemes. Ghoostblood's Shallan and Adolin's relationship Voidbinding Unmade This Kaladin's ideal 4(and maybe 5) moments A big Radiant team up with armies of radiants emerging to do battle! More Lift!
  12. I am not sure that we can rely on Hoid scenes to tell us much. He has a lot of weird stuff going on with him.
  13. If it is super reactive there is a decent chance that it causes skin irritation and possibly burns. If you put that kind of kinetic energy behind the spike and have it impact something a decent chancing exists that you speed up the reaction. Also this might be a soft metal. This means it might not go through a body but instead that it will deform on contact
  14. Maybe but I think the first thing any order would do at the beginning of the war is track down and kill any bondsmiths. In fact there might be a truce issued for it. Your's is the power Ishar once held(Stormfather to Dalinar chapter 64). He is a Herald. The Heralds have all kinds of crazy abilities. Source? Assuming you can get them to do much of anything. He repeatedly says he would do what is in his nature. I assume that the storms naturally want to clean Roshar. That is part of their natural function His attention was drawn toward the shattered plains by Dalinar. He sees corpses their and he wants to wash them away so he does so. Having him stratygically destroy cities would be considerably harder. Also considering he automatically restores stormlight how can he do any damage? Everyone would just heal it off. Yes but it would not be particularly difficult to sneak into the city and kill the bondsmith if you were a lightweaver for example. We don't know the internal mechanic their. I am almost certain there is one(my personal theory is that if you stack up all the stupidity curses and all the intelligence blessings together you get the same result).
  15. OK then 1. This character is artistically inclined.
  16. Thanks! So I have to come up with clues?
  17. I mean don't we all? If we did not we would not feel or think that way. He is also quite open to self reflection like when Megan points out that killing Stealheart will have bad effects David has a hard time figuring out if what he wants is still right. Thoes are the things he knows about. If you want large quantities of new not particularly relevent information that has no bearing on the plot I recommend The Phoenix Guards quite a fun book. However David knows about guns, his city, and epics. Having him know other stuff is out of character for him. Did it? Keeping or not keeping a secret both have consequences. Maybe wait till the end of the book until you decide weather it was worth it or not. The team prior to David's arrival was loosing. He gave them several of their biggest wins. He might need a dressing down but that does not mean that he is not entitled to state his opinion and have it respected. Well he is pretty young. People are treating him like a child so that is how he ends up acting. He clearly respects them but they are also not listening to real evidence that Megan cared about him and the team. They are letting their paranoia get in the way of smart decision making. Also he has been more then pulling his weight. Since his addition to the team their have been no casualties and they have scored many wins.
  18. Exactly! Thank you! I am pretty sure that he was trying to prove something perhaps the superiority(no pun!) of his chosen people over his political opponents and the deaths were a result of the fact that he has no actual military experience.
  19. You could certainly read it that way. However the superiority has several noteworthy differences to china. They have a greater tolerance for public debate, they are as you mentioned far more polyethnic, they care a lot more about stopping aggression and their political processes are far more democratic then china's. I personally see the superiority as a mostly original creation but that does not mean you are wrong.
  20. Welcome
  21. Assuming they are exactly equal in strength if they don't annihilate each other I would say nothing.
  22. Handerwym(only "talks" in the Jak books through written word).
