  1. Me too. My impossible impatience is gnawing on me.

This WoB is pretty old. Anyway I think Brandon is messing with us again. IE He is not actually anyone just their understanding of Endowment.
  3. I think Sazed, Spook, and even Breez's character arcs were fantastic in HoA and Vin's death with break my heart forever.
  4. Lol. Completely forgot so many. Lets keep going. The diagram is associated with Battar who is a member but they are lead by Taravangian. Sure she could be doing some behind the scenes stuff but I personally doubt it. I do not know if the he was a member of the Iri at the time but they are not associated with Heralds(as far as we know). One of them secretly being in charge stretches plausibility. The 17th shard seems to be lead by Frost. I suppose we should also count Nahz as silverlight agents(who I think are separate from the 17th shard). Also the sleepless and Cultivation may have some people. I don't think the sleepless need or have a Herald. They are also immortal. We know basically nothing about Cultvation's agents if they are separate.
  5. Thank you! Any idea of the time table?
  6. At LTUE 2020 we got the above WoB that mentions this reading. Do we have/were we allowed to record this reading? If yes where can I find the transcript or audio.

    Invested skills

Yes. For example Wax's stealbubble is a learned skill and we see both Vin and Kelseir practicing. Practice indicates that nothing magical is going on in the mind and if that is true then they can forget just like anyone else.
  8. We know of three secret societies on Roshar Skybreakers (Nale) Ghoostbloods(unknown) Sons of Honor(also unknown) I kind of doubt that the Sons of Honor were lead by a Herald. If they were Nale and Kelek would not have had to work with Gavilar. The Ghoostbloods similarly seem to be from outside the Rosharan system and Heralds can't worldhop.
  9. There was a general questions to ask Brandon thread that was shut down a while ago. You can probably find it under cosmere discussions. The Davar household was under the influence of an unmade. Mine would probably be. Did the old Radiants have any more systematic methods for gathering and leveling up their potential radiants?
  10. First of all welcome and great name. Second of all that is a lot. I think you could have subcategories of shards that have an emotional intent in addition to a entirely physical one. As to why some shards care about humans and some do not. Think of a shard as a constant force like gravity that it takes a constant application of willpower to avoid succumbing to or falling down. A shard is also limited by the cognitive make up or worldview of the holder. A plural vessel like a hive mind for example might see their shard as actually many different specialized subshards. Odium sees himself as the end all be all of the universe. The most powerful force and the naturally dominant one. I personally see this as arrogance and I think that evidence tends to back me up at least some of the time. At least as I understand it.
  11. Thanks for letting us know.
  12. Yes that one.
  13. I don't think we know the Voidbringer powers that well. Just based on your description I would choose Voidbringer though.
  14. I think the main consideration is that one Sebarial does not live up to Amaram's idea of what a highprince should be, and two that he wants to delay things so that the desolation can happen. Remember Amaram's goal at the time is to cause a desolation while Dalinar is trying to stop one. If Dalinar's expedition fails then he personally can contact the Parshendi to anticipate and cause the desolation. As things turn out it happens anyway but Amaram did not know that at the time. I don't think Odium is referring directly to his conversations with Dalinar. If you remember Dalinar's PoV Odium says several times "I was with you there" in reference to the all the times Dalinar killed in anger. Something similar was probably happening with Amaram. Amaram initially wanted the Heralds back. It is implied that Odium showed him during the battle where the Heralds were and what they were doing making Amaram feel betrayed. It could just be a mistake or their could be a time skip.
  15. I think you will generally get dissimilar wordings. IE Stormfather "I will bring unity instead of division" vs Sibiling "I will bring order from the chaos of mankind" are both still about creating ways in which political power can be effectively expressed but sound different thematically.
  16. Ashyn was a mistake(we think) and Reshek was an absolute idiot but I see your point.
  17. I am not an expert on the subject but I am sitting next to someone who is... Got it. Considering the number of possible fonts, styles and margins the word count gives you a much better idea of how long the book is. A page count does not actually tell you anything. The entire system is for the reader's connivance not the editors who might choose to reformat after reading anyway.
  18. Better late then never.
  19. Yes I actually enjoyed them a lot.
  20. You did not I was clarifying the difference between your points of view.
  21. Yeah it is not really up to the standards we have come to expect although the ending is pretty good.
  22. Vin gave Elend the last bead and unless Harmony decided to make more (which he could) I don't see where more would come from. We do not know what the original method was. There is an old WoB that said it was originally a "gift" to the Teris people and another that said during Hoid's cameo he was beaten up because he "went too far" while trying to discover it.
  23. It seems pretty obviously possible just because the reverse is also possible but I don't think any of the surges will get you there.
