  1. He inspired - and will continue inspire - a generation. Rest In Peace, Bondsmith. Rest In Power, King.
  2. Chadwick Boseman has passed away after battling colon cancer since 2016. Rest In Power, King.
  3. Alloy of Law and Shadows of Self leatherbound will be roughly $150 total. Brandon wants to work on vegan leatherbound/premium books (exactly to order) and printing the next Stormlight leatherbound partially in Europe to help save on shipping. As of Rhythm of War, most - if not all - of the Shards will be locked in place. That doesn't mean they'll be revealed however. Jello! That's all I'll say! The stickersheet stuff is great! The Sleepless originated from Brandon's second novel, Star's End. Probably no stream for the next 3 weeks, due to them needing more WoK stuff to sign and trying to get back on schedule.
  4. Draft 1 Complete!
  5. Well...in that case, have fun!
  6. You don't have to! I was just throwing out ideas...
  7. Ha! I can believe it. It's not my theory or one I think is true, but I could totally believe it.
  8. I've heard a couple. Which one are you thinking of? I can't take credit for the idea. I stole it from this.
  9. Don't forget Claude/Dimitri/Edelgard! Other than that...I could see Felix/Caspar/Raphael as the Train Hard Bros...there's Raphael/Ashe/Ignatz as the Knight Bros (I'd love to see Ashe try to convince Ignatz and Raphael that being a knight isn't always a bad thing...and then come to accept that it isn't their dream, so he shouldn't try to force it on them.) ...Dorothea/Leonie/Ashe as the not-really-noble team. Ashe/Bernadetta/Dedue as the Gardeners, Lorenz/Ferdinand/Constance as Team Noble...Petra/Shamir (or Cyril)/Dedue as the Foreigners, Constance/Annette/Mercedes as My Friend's (other) Best Friend. Seteth/Flayn/Rhea...so many juicy pieces of lore! Alois/Seteth/Gilbert - Gilbert needs to be roasted by ALL THE DADS. OT3 Fanservice Section: Claude/Edelgard/Petra - I need that OT3! Edelgard/Ferdinand/Hubert - I'm sure somebody would want it. Dimitri/Dorothea/Byleth (of either gender) - I want another OT3...? Rhea/Catherine/Byleth (of either gender) - Catherine gets Rhea, Rhea gets Byleth, Byleth gets Catherine... Catherine/Shamir/Byleth (of either gender) - Somebody help me...I can't stop...this is just fan-service now... Byleth/Marianne/Rhea - This one's just for me. Byleth/Dimitri or Claude/Seteth - Bylass won't be left out! The final two would have endings where Byleth ...I like these, but I always worry that the interactions will make everyone fall back into their character quirks, and sometimes I want to dig deeper than that...hmm...
  10. GO FOR IT! Who do you have in mind for the first few of those?
  11. Seteth and Shamir or Felix and Edelgard. Other than that, whichever you feel like you'd like to see. @The Awakened Saladhad a convo like that a couple pages back. Just have fun with it and we'll all have fun! Edit: While on the topic, I don't think I've said it here yet, but I switched my "Silver Route" things around and added a fifth path, one where Rhea and Edelgard team up against TWSITD. To access it during NG+, one needs to pick the Black Eagles and have Edelgard reach a B+ Support with RHEA. The supports go as follows: C Support - Rhea would decide to tutor Edelgard in how to use the Crest of Seiros wisely, when she mentions something in the younger woman reminds her of herself. B support - B+ Support - Edelgard comes back ready to defend herself when Rhea surprises Edelgard in a rare moment of honesty. In their A support, Edelgard and Rhea would admit that they're more alike than separate. I honestly have no idea if that would (or should) lead to them being like sisters to each other, mother-and-daughter, or...dare I say it...lovers...but I know that their paired ending would involve the complete destruction of TWSITD, a change from the Crest based system to a meritocracy, and the newly united Adrestian Empire officially repairing its relationship with the Church of Seiros. What happens to Claude and Dimitri on these paths? Well... Rhea would be a playable unit during this route, and it would be AWESOME.
  12. I think I'm developing an OT3 with Edelgard, Petra, and Claude. I think it's because Edelgard and Claude could make a great couple (similar ideas, mutual respect, flirting and overall fun chemistry...yeah, it's pretty easy to imagine) while Petra and Claude do make a great couple (similar ideas, mutual respect, lighter flirting; and their paired ending gives both of them what they want while also being really happy). I don't think Edelgard and Petra have the...chemistry (or respect as peers, really), but I'd like to see them try it out.
  13. I liked it. I didn't watch often, but I liked the episodes I did see. I've watched some of my favorite episodes on D+ since, but I'm not in the mood to watch the entire show again right now.
  14. Oh...Oh no...a terrible theory is forming...well, let's get it out of my system. What if this happens, and then it turns out that I think it's possible, but not very plausible. But it needed to leave my system!
  15. Very loosely. But here's the total breakdown. There are sixteen mainline games in this franchise: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light (FE 1) Famicom (LOOK AT THAT PANTLESS MARTH.) Fire Emblem: Gaiden (FE 2) Famicom Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Fire Emblem (FE 3) SNES Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War (FE 4) SNES Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (FE 5) SNES Fire Emblem: Binding Blade (FE 6) GBA Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword - also known as Fire Emblem in the west, since it was the first title officially released outside of Japan (FE 7) GBA Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (FE 8) GBA Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (FE 9) GameCube Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (FE 10) Wii Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (FE 11) - this is a remake of FE 1. DS Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~ Heroes of Light and Shadow ~ (FE 12) - this is a remake of FE 2. DS Fire Emblem Awakening (FE 13) 3DS Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright/Conquest/Revelation (FE 14) - all are collectively referred to as FE 14 or Fates. 3DS Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (FE 15) - This is a remake of FE 2. 3DS Fire Emblem: Three Houses (FE 16) Switch If you've played Super Smash Bros: Marth is from FE 1/11 & 3/12; Roy is from FE 6; Robin, Lucina, and Chrom are from FE 13; Corrin is from FE 14; and as you know, Byleth is from FE 16. Now onto the timeline. There's a very loose connection. Of the sixteen games, roughly nine of them take place within the same universe. In this timeline: FE 4/5 are the earliest events. They take place on the continent of Jugdral. FE 1/11, 2/15, and 3/12 happen centuries - if not millennia - later on the continents of Archenea and Valentia. These are Marth and Alm's games respectively. Alm's story takes place between Marth's two stories, so they are contemporaries of each other. Roughly 2000 years after Marth's timeline Fire Emblem Awakening takes place and tackles the story of Marth's descendants. There are slight* connections to FE 9-10 here, but many choose to ignore them, since they can cause more headaches than they're worth. Weirdly connected to this timeline via magical multiverse gates - yes, they are canon - is the Fire Emblem Fates world (which doesn't have a name...in fact, neither does the continent you play on). It's unclear if this all takes place in the distant past of the Awakening world or its future, but the two ARE connected. Don't think too hard about it though. That's the end of the really connected stuff. FE 9 & 10 form a duology on the continent of Tellius. FE 7 is a prequel to FE 6, and convers the story of Roy's father Eliwood and Lilina's father Hector. These two games take place on the continent of Elibe. FE 8 takes place in a completely different world (on the continent of Magvel), as does FE 16. HOWEVER, given all of the references to FE 4 in Three Houses, I think they're on the same continent. Granted, there's no proof so it's just my head-canon, but that's enough. TL;DR - So, yeah, only about half of the games are connected. A "Grand Fire Emblem Connection" theory does pop up every now and again. In those cases, FE 9-10 are the earliest recorded events, followed by FE 6-7, FE 4-5, and then the normal timeline. Also, Heroes is non-canon and messes things up more, so discount whatever it says (although it did do ONE thing right, and that was allow for the Post-VW!Claude, Post-AM!Dimitri, and Post-CF!Edelgard to meet and have a civil discussion. It turns out that Heroes was the Golden Route/Ending we were looking for the entire time).
  16. So I just thought this might be a fun idea. What novellas do you think would really fit in the Cosmere that Brandon would probably not write, either out of a lack of interest or lack of time? I'd LOVE a series of novellas about the adventures of Wax, Wayne, and Lessie. I'd be a series of normal lawman work, and after the final adventure we'd see them rush off to face Bloody Tan. I think these would work wonderfully as a limited release included in the Alloy of Law and Shadows of Self leatherbounds - specifically before the Alloy of Law prologue - before being released to everyone else in Acranum Unbounded 2 someday. The second thing is a novella about Amaram and his actions during Oathbringer. One of the more consistent critiques of OB I hear is Amaram's arc; I think Brandon writing a novella about his choices would go a long way in fixing our feelings towards that storyline. While I would hesitate to put this one in the leatherbound version of OB (although I wouldn't be opposed to it at all), I think releasing it with the kickstarter would be a nice present to everyone. I don't really count the potential Misborn Era 3.5 cyberpunk stuff he might write, since he originally said those may be books, but I think has backtracked and framed them as novellas. Either way, I think those are more possible than the above choices. So yeah, those are my current choices. What are y'all's? (Also, please don't say a sequel to Mistborn: Secret History, Sixth of the Dusk, or The Emperor's Soul. All of those have sequel stories or are planned out, or at least exist in concept.)
  17. I'm not entirely sure...for the Stormlight books, Wit's epilogues feel like the perfect post-credit scene. They're large enough to be meaningful, important enough to get people to wait to see them, and meta enough that they don't belong anywhere else. For the Cosmere as a whole, I think a single line from someone in the Spiritual Realm would be great. Or maybe even a whole conversation. Brandon would never have to reveal who was talking to who, and it'd be great. (Or if we knew one speaker, he doesn't have to specific the second person.)
  18. lol! I type decently fast and my grad school classes are in the evening. Besides, I actually don't play that much Three Houses anymore (despite the urge coming back these past few weeks) because I can get burnt out really quickly, and I want to save at least some energy for the rare possibility that one of my friends who hasn't played it yet picks up the game and loves it.
  19. In that case, as much as I'd like it (and as much as I believe Finn is that child), I really doubt it. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
  20. Canonically the Judgral games take place centuries - if not millennia - before Marth's games. They're in the same world, but on vastly different continents. Also, Tiki compares Chrom to an ancestor of his in her supports with Robin I believe. I also believe that the ancestor in question was Sigurd. So yes, Marth, Chrom, and Lucina are all related to Sigurd, but there's millennia separating the two. That's enough time for the continent to change and things to happen. In terms to the music, I don't think that should change, but I just like characters to interact too. Both would be the ideal honestly.
  21. I'm not entirely sure they will. While to your credit, Lucasfilm has been incredibly cagey with what Luke was up to during the 30 years between the OT & ST, introducing a child for him outside of the movies feels like a giant missed opportunity. And now that time for said child has passed. Do you introduce them in a Disney+ show that won't have the mainstream viewership a movie might? Sure, you can, but it also won't have Mark Hamill, since he's officially retired from the role. Do you introduce them 15-30 years down the line, when they're old and have a family of their own, and the people who wanted that Skywalker child have all moved onto other franchises and series? Do you introduce them in a book, which may or may not be positively received, regardless of the introduction? Or a comic, which somehow feels even more niche these days? Or a game, where people will probably just watch the story on YouTube if they don't have the system or like the gameplay? Do you announce Episodes X-XII for 2028/2030, and promise the Skywalker child in those? Then people might be upset because it feels like it's too soon, and that none of their favorite characters will come back. Oscar, Daisy, John, and Adam have all more-or-less distanced themselves from Disney and Star Wars - and honestly, who can blame them? And outside of all of that, Lucasfilm has been known for making some pretty...curious decisions as of late. Why announce a Bad Batch show before a Rebels sequel? Why create a Resistance show instead of exploring what Luke was up to with his Jedi Order? Why go to the High Republic when you know the Old Republic is far more profitable and popular? (Well the last one is probably for creative freedom of the artists, writers, and novelists involved in constructing that time period.) Lucasfilm isn't in trouble, but I wouldn't call it a guarantee that they're going to announce that Luke had a secret family either. Maybe they'll retroactively make a character a family member...hmm... I'm of two minds on this. On one hand, I totally agree, there were no consequences and nothing at stake felt dire. On the other hand, I'm now falling into the camp of "the only time a character should die is when their death can do more for the story and other characters than their life can." I'm not sure that would be the case for Chewie or C-3PO...well, Goldenrod over Chewie. But the point still stands! They have more to offer alive than dead IMO. We just shouldn't have been faked out, or at least the consequences should have been different.
  22. Months ago I made a rewrite/revision for the Sequel Trilogy and I'm really proud of it. Other than that: Favorite Characters: Kit Fisto, Finn, Yoda, Quinlan Vos, MAUL, Hera Syndulla, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Aayla Secura, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ahsoka Tano (TCW version), Merrin, Satine Kryze, Rex, and Leia. Tula Markona almost makes the list, but isn't quite there yet. I love the prequels! I love their music, their operatic tone, their cartoons (yes, both of them), and their fight scenes. ROTS has one of the best openings in all of the Star Wars movies. Solo is an underappreciated gem. I get that no fan really asked for it, but it's here, and it's definitely worth checking out. Legends, like all media, has benefitted from the passing of time and selective memory. Nowadays people only remember the good things about the old EU or the cool concepts. They forget how Luke's nephew killed his wife, or that Leia named her second son after a man she barely knew or even liked, or that Chewie was crushed by a falling moon. They forget how the Yuuzhan Vong were pretty controversial despite their unique design and concept, and that there was apparently a point in time where Luke stopped believing in the Force. They forget how utterly confusing the canon actually was at that point, and how there had to be multiple tiers of canon just to keep everything straight.* I'm not saying all of this to hate on the old EU. Not at all! Kenobi is my favorite Star Wars book, Cade Skywalker and Ania Solo were super cool characters, and I like Jacen & Jaina as a concept. Heck, Ania Solo is like the O.G. Rey. Seriously, check out Ania's comics and you'll see what I mean. (I have a head-canon where Ben, Jacen, Jaina, and possibly a fourth child or a separate set of twins) all live a happy life together.) I just want to say that it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, and not every Legends thing knocked it out of the park. So people should cut the NuCanon material a little slack, and give it a try. FINN IS LUKE SKYWALKER'S SON AND NOTHING YOU CAN DO WILL CHANGE MY MIND. I believe that KOTOR should be a television show spanning multiple seasons, not a series of movies. I'm STILL salty about how dirty the ST did Finn. Now it's time for a little ramble: The High Republic is an interesting concept, but it feels very out of place considering many fans have been clamoring for KOTOR era content, and instead we get this. Also, going backwards in the timeline without a plan forward past Episode IX is very concerning for me. I don't need a ten-year movie slate, since Lucasfilm tried that before and...well...in terms of movies and directors, a little less than half of it turned out correct. But eight months in, and we still don't know how the franchise is moving forward other than "we're aking time to think about it," feels...weird? It's not like Star Wars hasn't survived long droughts; but previously, we thought the end of each trilogy was going to be "the last trilogy." Now we know better, and I think that's what's bugging fans. Overall, Star Wars taking some time to recalibrate and assess their current course is a good thing. It's just sad that they need to do so in the first place. The ST should have been planned from the start. Yes, I understand that the OT wasn't planned out from the start; and yes, I understand that there needs to be room for creativity, and for characters to live and breathe. And yes, sometimes creators will change their minds on things. That's all fine. But planning it out from the get-go will at least create a solid narrative. Besides, Star Wars is forty years old. Who does the same thing they did forty years ago in the exact same way they do now? Are television shows the same? Are books written and printed the same? Are movies created the same? Do we drive the exact same model of car, or fly in the exact same plane model? Why should Star Wars be written the same? Or if it was never going to be planned out from the start, having a goal to work towards would have been a solid substitute. (And when you have one, please don't change it to something else last minute because you want the story to go in a different direction than where its leading you.*) *I break this rule in my revision of the ST, but only because the ST broke the rule first. My goal with the revision was to take a majority of the same concepts/ideas/story beats, and then adapt them into something I would tell/what pleases me. *Mind you, that's a really cool concept, but for canon junkies and novel/comic completionists, it's a nightmare.
  23. Just a random thought I wanted to share. Currently Fire Emblem doesn't really do much Amiibo support these days, or if it does, the gains are negligible. I've seen some annoyance over this, since Fates handled it decently by having the Amiibo units be recruitable characters from a different dimension. I think that's a good idea at the base, but I don't think that should be the way going forward. Many Fire Emblem fans on Reddit and whatnot HATE when characters crossover. They feel like it makes the world smaller and connects current games to past ones in ways they don't need to be connected...or rather, it connects current games to past games they don't like. So how do we overcome that while still gaining units out of Amiibos? Why not treat it like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse does its characters? If you haven't seen it (and you should - it's on Netflix and it's AMAZING), Into the Spider-Verse has multiple Spider-Men and Spider-Women from around time and space. The key here is that each character seemingly already exists in other characters' universes. So Miles' universe has a Peter Parker, Mary-Jane Watson, and all of Spidey's usual Rogue Gallery participants, as does Gwen's universe. It's assumed that Miles' universe also has a Gwen Stacy, and that Gwen's universe has a Miles. They may be doing different things or be different ages, but I'm sure they have existed/will exist. So why not have the same here? For example, if you used the Ike Amiibo in Three Houses, a mercenary named Ike would show up and join your class. His backstory would be similar - a mercenary that has a little sister and a grudge against a certain knight (probably would be transferred to the Death Knight in this scenario) - and he'd come with Ragnell, but it clearly wouldn't be the Tellius series Ike. (His Academy Phase look would be based off of his Path of Radiance appearance, while his War Phase look would be based off of his Radiant Dawn appearance.) Chrom, Lucina and Robin would be a tad trickier, since alternate dimensions already exist in their story. Regardless, the same premise would apply - Lucina would be a young noble mourning the loss of her parents, determined to make sure that a fate she was foretold will not come to pass. On the other hand, Chrom would be a young noble whose elder sister is both the leader of the house and a bishop in the area where they live. He was sent here to gain official training before returning home. At the academy he decides to create the Shepherds (they'd be a gambit this time around I guess). However, the War Phase changed his plans, and now he must step up as the leader of his house and protector of his territory. Roy, Marth, Alm, and Robin would probably have relatives and/or patrons who paid for their entry fee into the Officers' Academy, while Celica would be a priestess training at the monastery; and all but Celica would have crests. Corrin would be weird, and I don't have an explanation for them yet. Robin would most likely be another But again, these are all examples of what Amiibos could look like in Three Houses. A new, future game with no connections to previous games may grant the characters a different backstory. To conclude, going forward Amiibos don't have to be limited to simply providing a nice bonus song or stat-boosting item. They can be used to grant us familiar characters in a new world, and explore how that world shaped them while still keeping the core integrity. What do y'all think? Oh, I also have a new(ish) head-canon that Fodlan is simply Jugdral 4000-5000 years in the future.
  24. Sylvain's VA is one of the newer choices I'd put down if Stormlight was to be animated and they needed to cast VA's today. His sheer arrogance, perceptive attributes, overall friendliness, and big-brother nature make him a perfect fit for Adolin. Others include Jack de Sena (Sokka from ALTA and Callum from The Dragon Prince) and Jesse Inocalla (Soren from The Dragon Prince). Counterpoint on Byleth and Dimitri - Byleth is Dalinar (since s/he brings people around her/him and makes them better) and Dimitri is Kaladin (since his arc is about protection versus vengeance). Also, this cool artwork of Dimitri as Kaladin popped up on Reddit earlier this week. Other pairings/comparisons off of the top of my head... Edelgard & Jasnah (Shallan is also a decent comparison, but I think Jasnah fits the best) Caspar & Lift...? Felix & Spensa (I'm torn on Spensa being either Caspar or Felix at this moment. All three say incredibly hammy/cheesy things at times, but Caspar has a natural exuberance where Spensa is obviously overcompensating. Felix is prickly as a person where Spensa gets along with pretty much everyone, if given the chance. All three are pretty oblivious to romance until it's literally staring them down. I think I'll go with Caspar and Spensa. Both have giant chips on their shoulders that force them to train obsessively.) Claude & Hoid (although I do see shades of Elend in there) Rhea is also Dalinar (but she has some shades of Gavilar (according to the reading of the prologue Sanderson did months ago - I don't read the preview chapters.) Seteth and Rock. Petra & Vin. On that note, Shamir & Vin Mercedes & Annette combine to make Quirk Jeralt and Vasher Hilda and Siri (both are free spirits that can become queens if need be) Marianne can also relate to Kaladin, but their arcs are too different for me compare them... Manuela & Navani...would NOT get along, but I also think they'd be those two best friends that everyone wonders how they're even friends. It'd be beautiful. (I AM) Ferdinand von Aegir and Jorgen/Jerkface. Both immediately take to command well, and have to deal with pressure from their family. There are key differences of course, but I could see them commiserating. Lorenz & Steris would probably get along pretty well, and honestly would be well suited for each other. Their goals would align (for the most part), their views would probably match, and Lorenz would be one of the few people who actually appreciates Steris' preparations (heck, he'd start to count on it). Marasi and Annette would get along, but I'm not sure they'd be mirrors of each other.
