And that's fair. But there is a non-small amount of fans (or rather, vocal minority of fans) that like ALTA and don't like Korra, and so the idea of a "true successor" is thrown around. I'm not saying it's wholly legitimate, hence the quotation marks, but I do see where they're coming from. I personally see TDP as a spiritual successor to ALTA, but one that doesn't take the place of Korra. Korra and TDP are more like foster siblings than the "true heir" or whatnot IMO. The same could be said for Naruto, Boruto, and My Hero Academia. One could even include Black Clover if they feel so inclined. MHA isn't trying to do what Boruto is trying to do, and there's more than enough space for both of them.* I believe same is true for Korra and TDP. It's a conversation, a dialogue, just like how both A Song of Ice and Fire and The Wheel of Time are dialogues with The Lord of the Rings, and in a way Mistborn is a dialogue to The Wheel of Time. But for those fans who prefer TDP to Korra, and claim Aaron Ehasz and other people on staff as the key to ALTA's greatness? Those are the fans that a third show would have to win over. (Or not, and cater to a new audience. That's a completely legitimate - and frankly quite preferable - strategy.) Overall I don't have a horse in this race. If Korra gets a sequel, great! If Korra doesn't, that's fine! If people like TDP over Korra, good for them! If the reverse is true, congratulations! *That being said, the relative popularity of MHA over Boruto is clear as day to see. To be fair, Boruto had a lot of things working against it at first, and it does have it's moments of awesome (including the latest few chapters); but the monthly format, rehashed material in the first dozen chapters (which, due to the monthly format, meant that readers had to reread something they had already watched in about 2 hours over the course of a year, not counting the breaks), the amount of love one of the most controversial characters STILL gets, and the divisive titular character all work against it. Not to mention how much filler the anime already has.

I've seen a meme that they're waiting for Mistborn Era 3 to come out first. But joking aside, I'm glad you enjoyed it! To answer your question, I'm not sure. I bet if the creators wanted to, they could. Especially after the split with Netflix over ALTA's live action show. But...is that a good thing? I might get some flak for saying this, but Korra is a lot like the Sequel trilogy for Star Wars in how it's been received. There's no solid consensus on it, and the constant comparisons to the original material definitely don't help. A third Avatar show would definitely draw in the crowds, but would it be able to maintain those crowds? Or would it end up fracturing the fanbase even more? People who want a "true successor" to ALTA watch The Dragon Prince, and overall the quality of cartoons has step up in a major way - Gravity Falls, The Owl House, She-Ra, and so many others. Competing that field will be rough, and brand-power only goes so far nowadays. People who like ALTA's lore are satisfied with the comics and the Kyoshi YA novels. People who like Korra are getting the graphic novels. I'm not sure another show could add anything at this point. But who knows.

The Dragon Prince: Thoughts,
Use the Falchion replied to Ed Venture's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Aaron and Co hosted an AMA a few days ago. There are some fun tidbits in here, but also a LOT of spoilers. I'll put some of the fun ones below. Any Rayllum kids would have more than eight digits. Callum's father was fully human. They're still in pre-production for Season 4, but are looking to start production soon. They're hiring if you have videogame creation experience! Startouch Elves - or a certain sect of Startouch Elves were the first elves. There may be more species on the planet than just humans and elves, but those are the focus for TDP. (This is actually from an Instagram interview I believe...I can't find it anymore though...) Callum turned 15 at the end of TTM. There will be a small timeskip between TTM and Season 4. We will meet new characters in Season 4, and it's hinted that the Dragaang may gain a new team member ala Toph. I'm sure there are some I missed, but these are all of the non-spoiler ones of note I could think of.- 202 replies

What are you playing right now?
Use the Falchion replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Same. Fortunately Royal naturally gets you to the mid-70's pretty easily, so it's not too much of a pain. And by the time the final dungeon is unlocked, money isn't a problem for making Persona stronger than the Joker. -
What are you playing right now?
Use the Falchion replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Persona 5 Update: I snuck in a few hours this evening to play. It's time for the past to catch up with the present, and the Boss will be taken down next! I chose Hifumi! This was mostly because I started the Rank 9 link before I was able to save, so I was sort of pressured into a choice...not that I regret it. Now comes the question of romancing Makoto as well, or saving her for a separate playthrough. I'll most likely save Makoto for a separate playthrough, since I usually like to have her romanced by this point in the game. My hopes of maxing out all of those social links before this boss fight was hilariously optimistic and clearly didn't happen. I was able to max out my Kindness and Proficiency, so there's something, but it wasn't as much as I wanted. I didn't increase in the Empress or Hanged Man social links at all, so I have one month to burn through those... I was able to finish the Fortune and Strength social links though, and am Rank 9 with Star and Devil. This means that my evenings will soon be free to hang out with Hifumi and finish the Sun and Hanged Man links. I'm Rank 7 or 8 with Hermit, Tower, Emperor, Priestess, Sun and Hierophant, so I hopefully will knock those out pretty quick too. I also used the Reaper glitch to boost my levels. It took a few tries, but it worked! And BOY HOWDY did it work! I went from level 54 to 61 in three turns! (Everyone else when from about 52 to 60.) Is the glitch cheap? Absolutely. Do I plan on using it again? ABSOLUTELY. It's hilariously overpowered and I love it. I want a chance to use it again before the MASSIVE SPOILERS Because I want to go into that one hilariously overpowered. But we'll see what happens. -
Dimitri and Claude's supports are done! Being completely honest, these are the supports I'm least happy with. (Which really sucks because Claude and Dimitri are some of my favorite lords in the entire series) But that's not a surprise; as I mentioned before, nailing Claude's voice is HARD. And I'm afraid it's out of my skill range for the moment. Add to that the fact that this support had the most changes in content, and you have an unfortunately lesser product. I'm trying some stuff here. But anyways, enjoy. The song for the moment is "A Different Way" by DJ Snake featuring Lauv. C Support B Support B+ Support A Support: Author's Notes: The Claude x Edelgard support won't be finished this weekend. I need more time to noodle on it, and I don't think feeling like there's a deadline helps the quality of these supports. (Also I watched Hamilton tonight and that put me in the mood to noodle on a different creative project (also possibly Fire Emblem related).)

Who Else is Avoiding RoW Preview Chapters?
Use the Falchion replied to ILuvHats's topic in Stormlight Archive
Every time a "To those reading the preview chapters, how is Rhythm of War NO SPOILERS" threads pops up on the Stormlight subreddit, I get so psyched up! The comments there don't have any (major) spoilers, and they provide a much clearer picture than the current Goodreads reviews do. That being said, the more excited I get for this book, the more my willpower is tested. I don't think I'll break, but man is it tempting at times... -
Thank you both! Hopefully I'll have the other two supports out by the end of day, or at least the weekend. I think I found the song for Claude and Edelgard, so that process may go a tad faster. (I like the mood, but the lyrics aren't really them, if that makes sense.) But, as a warning, I have to say that I don't think the next two will be as good as this one. Despite being my favorite lord in the game and the route I chose first, Claude's voice is one I don't think I can appropriately nail down. Edelgard is even harder since I've spent the least time with her. And them together...they're probably going to sound a little off (think Mat in TGS) at best or straight up OOC at worst. Also, there's flirting involved, and I'm TERRIBLE at writing romance and flirting. But the show must go on!
-
And continuing the trend, I've officially finished the first of the Silver Route supports! First up is Dimitri and Edelgard! Prepare for angst. Accompanying soundtrack is Feel Like Home by Fort Minor. So Long by Magnetic North may work as well. THERE WILL BE MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THESE SUPPORTS. As such, DO NOT READ PAST THE B+ SUPPORT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED. C-Support: B Support B+ Support: (MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE WINTER BALL) A Support: A+ Support Epilogue: Author's Notes:

Controversial Opinions

Same. That's what I was really hoping for. Granted, I actually don't own Smash and only play when I hang out with my friends (which doesn't happen nowadays due to the state of the world, being busy, and slight geographic distance) so I'm not sure I have any right to weigh in. -
Could Rithmatist be happening a couple millenia after Steelheart?
Use the Falchion replied to kroen's topic in The Rithmatist
Honestly Cytonics and the powers granted in the Reckoners universe don't seem that similar to me. Unlimited ammo, water manipulation, and reality warping vs hyper-speed travel, life-sensing, and mind blades...Cytonics seem too...focused, if that makes sense, to me at the moment. Like they're the middle ground between the chalk magic of The Rithmatist (generic but everyone who is chosen* has the same abilities) and Reckoners (super diverse and each person has their own abilities and drawbacks). But that's besides the point. The Rithmatist may be a part of this multiverse, it may not. We may never know. Right now I'm fine waiting until Cytoverse 3, The Atzlanian, and The Apocalypse Guard all come out before we find an answer. Although, seeing Joel and Melody become this multiverse's equivalent of world-hoppers (Dimension Travellers?) and using chalk magic to save worlds would be pretty cool....meh, not worth thinking about at the moment. -
Could Rithmatist be happening a couple millenia after Steelheart?
Use the Falchion replied to kroen's topic in The Rithmatist
Can you rephrase that? I don't want to misread and misinterpret your message or intent. Are you saying that The Apocalypse Guard and the Cytoverse are the only ones connected? Or are you saying that The Apocalypse Guard, the Reckoners trilogy, and the Cytoverse are connected? Also, I said multiverse, not universe. They can each have their own universe and share a multiverse. It's not uncommon in Sci-fi or superhero stuff. (Although if you're attaching to my "shared universe" quote, your confusion is understandable. I mean multiverse. Sorry about that.) As per Word of Brandon (LTUE 2020) So, if The Apocalypse Guard has the ending fixed and is released (not a guarantee, but certainly a possibility), we'll have three YA book series connected: The Apocalypse Guard, the Cytoverse, and the Reckoners trilogy. My points were 1) The Rithmatist is not Cosmere, and 2) that it may be in this universe. At LTUE 2020, Dan read part of the first chapter of The Apocalypse Guard, and one of the definitions of the planets matched up with what we know of The Ritmatist's geography. Maybe it was just an Easter Egg, maybe it was a connection. We don't know either way, but it wouldn't be surprising if it did turn out true. -
What are you playing right now?
Use the Falchion replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Yup, original. If this was Royal, I'd have probably maxed out most of my stats by this point with all of that extra time after dungeons...or at least I wouldn't have to worry about SP items with all the coffee I could have made!! -
What are you playing right now?
Use the Falchion replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Persona 5 update time! I haven't really played much since Monday, and that's fine. I've been busy. Anyways, I'm at the final palace before the prologue scene and we've just gained Crow as a crew member. I'm doing really good on levels and Personas for the most part (roughly 45% through the Compendium), so the main problem - as always - is SP. I don't have a lot of SP healing items, but I have enough for this dungeon. In terms of Social Links, I'VE FINALLY MAXED OUT KAWAKAMI'S SOCIAL LINK!! I've finished Mishima's and Tae's as well, so while I'm not doing the best, I feel like I'm doing pretty good. I have max Intelligence and max Charm too, so I'm going to need to make a decision about Makoto and Hifumi relatively soon. Hifumi (Star), Chihaya (Fortune), and Ohya (Devil) are all waiting for their Mementos quest to be filled out, and that'll be done the day after I complete the latest Palace. I also moved forward on Yusuke's social link (Rank 6 or 7 I believe) as well as Futaba's (Rank 4 or 5). The Tower and Sun social links are progressing pretty good as well. I may not complete them before we catch up to the present, but I'll be able to complete them before taking on That One Boss. I also made a little more improvement on Sojiro's social link, but now I need max Kindness to progress any further. And I FINALLY have enough Guts to move forward on the Hanged Man social link! It most likely won't be maxed out, but any progress there is good progress. Haru is the final piece of the puzzle, and there's nothing I can do with her until I have max Proficiency. I'm not sure how to gain that in the most efficient way just yet.* As such, she'll unfortunately stay benched until I can unlock that proficiency, since Baton Passing is too powerful, and she can't complete it just yet. As such, I should be able to complete around 3-4 more social links before things heat up again, if all goes well. Maybe even as many as six (Hifumi, Chihaya, Ohya, Makoto or Yusuke, the Tower, and maybe the Sun). But the main problem links will remain out incompletable for the moment. Overall - solid progress is being made, but sadly nothing too special. *Making tools is pointless now since I have the eternal lockpicks (two of them!) and have built the P.C. Working at the beef bowl place may be good, but it takes up time I could be using to finish a different social link. The same is true for Lala's bar, but there is worse since there's no guarantee I can talk to the patron that raises my proficiency. Reading MAY work once I max out all of the day-time confidants, but I've read pretty much every book I could. Maybe I could play a game or watch a DVD... -
RoW Predictions for non-preview chapter readers
Use the Falchion replied to dannnex's topic in Stormlight Archive
Theory Time Round 3!! This is more of a silly thing so PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY, but I've seen some slight ship-to-ship combat when passing by the RoW section (along with the title of The Sandersonian Institute of Cosmere Studies podcast's 66th episode). So I just had a humorous thought. I'll put in a spoiler section. Reasons for this silly thought? Mostly humor, but maybe it'd satisfy more people. ...yeah, it won't happen. But it's fun to imagine for a moment! -
Yeah, I'm more on the side of The Girl Who Stood Up as being the story of the first Desolation. Heck, maybe that girl was Shalash. We don't know if Ash was born on Roshar or Ashyn (although the latter is more likely), and she's been depicted as having white hair more than once. And the idea of Ash's history inspiring one in the order she's the patron of isn't too far out there. If Syl can connect to Shallan walking on the beach, then why can't Hoid's story connect to Ash's history? I have no idea about the other stories, but I'll enjoy the connections when they pop up.

I love the show, but my friend in med school would have choice words for this lol! I do think it's the closest we'll get to a Battlestar Galactica sequel in a lot of ways. -
From what I've heard, there have been very few R-rated superhero movies considered. Deadpool of course (which causes Disney no small amount of consternation, since R-rated movies aren't their brand) and Doctor Strange 2, since the original director wanted it to be a horror movie. Disney wasn't happy with that, and they split over "creative differences." New Mutants was also in that category, but I haven't kept a close eye on it. Venom, Carnage, and Punisher are the other three that would probably qualify, but Disney has no control over the first two and recently wrapped up Punisher's Netflix show. Other than those, I haven't seen that much of a desire for an R-rated Marvel movie.

Least Favorite non-Brandon Character
Use the Falchion replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Yay Three Houses! Boo for your opinions of Rhea...granted, those are ones most people share. Rhea treats people like we do pets - positively and as things to watch over and care for, but there will always be this...distance due to the fact that she'll outlive them all. Some are like dogs or cats or larger, longer living pets where genuine affection is formed on both sides (Catherine & Jeralt), others like hamsters or gerbils (pretty much everyone else). My own opinion on Rhea is more favorable, but I know I'm in the minority. If it helps, I consider her who Edelgard was. Rhea and Edelgard basically have the same source trauma and are going through the same steps. The only difference really being: Both have: (MASSIVE MASSIVE SPOILERS) In terms of Rhea's morality, it's absolutely questionable and she needs to answer for a LOT of things, but she's far from the most morally bankrupt characters in the game. She saved Cyril, Catherine, Jeralt, has no problem with Shamir's lack of faith*, and a butt-ton of orphans, is openly against the crest system (the Church of Seiros doesn't condone how the crests are treated, and I can imagine that Rhea's reasons are FAR more personal), and in terms of Byleth: (AGAIN, MASSIVE, MASSIVE SPOILERS) One of the biggest tragedies of the game is that Rhea and Edelgard can't see how similar they truly are. (Also Dimitri's view on the crest system is the most nuanced and fair in the game.) *So long as Shamir stays in line. It's not the lack of faith that bothers Rhea, but blasphemy. Ah, the dragon-loli's...Manakete's are in FE's DNA, since the very beginning, but I do feel your pain. IMO, Lilith was poorly done because they took a perfectly interesting character and made her into a mascot. Keeping her as the traditional Manakete (or at least a second one to serve alongside Corrin) would have been better. I think the best for these have been: The Sacred Stones - since Myrrh is clearly treated as a little sister and not a romantic prospect. The Tellius Duology - since there aren't any real present. Kurthnaga's the closest we get. Awakening - Yes, Nowi may be the worst or near the bottom of the pile, but Tiki is at the top. She's an adult and openly addresses the massive toll living for eons takes on a person. Three Houses - Massive spoilers here, but I think -
The Dragon Prince: Thoughts,
Use the Falchion replied to Ed Venture's topic in Entertainment Discussion
The Dragon Prince's first graphic novel Through the Moon is out! It was leaked somewhere else in the world (either Europe or Australia) about a month or so ago, so I remember hearing some preliminary things about it. And today I got my hands on it! My spoiler-free review. This is a solid graphic novel and a solid choice for the story. It's far from the best one I've seen, even among JR (Junior Reader) graphic novels, but it's far from the worst. If you're a fan of the show, you may want to look into picking this up, as Aaron Ehasz recommended reading this before Season 4 for the best possible experience. The story is a nice interquel story, with enough material for an episode or two of the show. Making it into a graphic novel means that they don't have to worry about this within the show and can skip to other aspects, much like what Edgedancer does for Lift, Nale, and Szeth. The characters are excellently written, and you can hear the words in your head. Likewise, the characterization is true to them as well. The action is a little lacking, but given the story it's trying to tell, that's fine. I'm still not sure the price was worth it - $14 for a graphic novel that took me less than 20 minutes to read - but I'm really not complaining. In terms of spoilers: Overall - Treat this like Edgedancer. If you want the full experience, you go for it. If you want to just dive back into the show without caring about the side-journeys, that's fine too. 7.9/10- 202 replies

star wars Because Star Wars
Use the Falchion replied to I Am A Fish's topic in Entertainment Discussion
If y'all could fan-cast a Knights of the Old Republic (hereafter referred to as KOTOR), who would you choose? My main casting would be: Main Character - Harry Shum Jr. Actor, dancer, singer, choreographer, the man can do it all. He has the skills to make the main character overflow with talent and charisma. (But if we're going for an older version I don't think Keanu Reeves would be bad.) Malak - Stephen Amell This was a tough choice. I like Stephen as a person and as an actor, and he loves Star Wars and desperately wants to be a Jedi. But even in my fan-casting, I never had a good place for him. Darth Malak went through some iterations today when making this list, but I realized that I needed someone younger than forty to match Shum Jr's age, and that could be physically imposing. Amell came to mind. Stephen can play brooding bad boy, emotionless killer, and rage-filled tactician (both the quiet rage and the explosive kind). He's got the physique and skill to do some of his own stunts, as seen in Arrow with how much the show let him get away with. Bastila Shan - Jemma Chan If we're going for type cast, Aubrey Plaza can play aloof-and-slightly-mean-but-still-good-hearted-brunette very, VERY well. I'd rather her not, though. Outside of that, Daisy Ridley would actually be a brilliant Bastila. But my No 1 pick goes to GEMMA FREAKING CHAN. She can play tough girl, like Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel (and like she probably will as Sersi in the Eternals movie), she can play upper class yet still human like she did as Astrid in Crazy Rich Asians, and I'm sure she can do even more. I also do this because if we're taking all of The Old Republic Era material, I'd rather distill it down to two to three generations of just pure war and bloodshed. So Bastila would be the eventual mother of Satele Shan, and as such I wanted a prominent Space Asian family line that Gemma could be the matriarch of. Carth Onasi - Undecided at the moment. Stephen Amell may make a good Carth, but I wanted someone else in the role I think. I really want Rahul Kholi for some reason, but I'm not sure he's the best fit. Screen Junkies/Fandom did a "Cast Away" recast of Star Wars, and Rahul won the Han Solo recast, so I think he fits the smuggler/roguish nature. But Carth is military. He's...not stoic, but focused. And I'm not sure if Rahul can do that just yet. Juhani - Stephanie Beatriz ROSA, ROSA ROOOOSSSAAAAA! Aka Stephanie Beatriz Stephanie has that Tough Girl persona down pat, but her natural bubbliness would work very well for Juhani. Let's see her explore the Dark Side before coming up for air. Canderous Ordo - Michelle Rodriguez This character can go in a LOT of different directions, but I like the idea of Mandalore having a long and storied history of women as leaders; and Michelle is type-cast as those rough, tank-top wearing bad mama-jammas. She's younger than most other people's Canderous, but I think that just gives her a longer life as the character. Mission Vao - Sadie Sink It'd be easy to say "Mille Bobbie Brown" and be done with it...so let's branch out. I think from the Stranger Things cast, Sadie is a better fit. Sadie can already play slightly traumatized-yet-golden-hearted youth pretty well, and we wouldn't have to worry about aging her up or down. Jolee Bindo - Lance Riddick He can play crass and heartless, like he did in Horizon: Zero Dawn. He can play affable, as he does in John Wick. The man has range and experience that would undoubtedly serve him perfectly as a character with matching qualities. HK-47 - John Mulaney. 'Nuff Said! And I won't go too much into KOTOR II since I'm far less familiar with that game, but some of the main highlights for my picks: The Exile/Meetra Surik - Zoe Kravitz Zoe is supremely skilled yet underrated actor, and I think she could shine as Meetra. Kreia - Dame Helen Mirren She would KILL this role, easily switching from jaded advisor to conscripted ally to every role Kreia needs to play throughout the series (again, KOTOR is a mult-seasoned generational story in my mind. This is basically Part 1: Act 2 in my head). Atton - Grant Gustin Boyish, charming, and can play arrogant VERY well when he wants to, Grant Gustin is an absolute fit for this role. Gustin has chemistry with pretty much everyone, and that's what Atton needs in order to manipulate people. This iteration of Atton would play up being the Bad Boy Smuggler (i.e. the choice people make KNOWING it's going to end bad and destroy them, but they do it anyways). Atris - Natalie Dormer Natalie could absolutely nail the role of attractive but off-limits, charming yet condescending, and ultimately downright crazy. Yup. That's the way to go.- 81 replies

I don't disagree. Rand was teetering on the edge of sanity and was arrogant to the point of narcissism. But he still needed someone who cared about Rand the boy from the Two Rivers, not The Dragon Reborn. And Cadsuane clearly didn't care about that boy. But again, she didn't do anything to endear herself to him other than "I'm powerful, I'm old, and I'm an Aes Sedai, so do as I say." Rand had seen enough of that. Rand had been imprisoned due to them. How was this Aes Sedai any better? She's powerful? Great, he's stronger. She's old? Great, that means more Aes Sedai arrogance, snobbery, and manipulation. She's an Aes Sedai? Well, after what happened before, pardon me for not trusting them. In the end, Rand does take her on as an advisor, but does doesn't improve past that. No other character seems to warm up to her, the characters that are fan favorites like Min and Nynaeve don't really like her either - at most they're in awe of Cadsuane's power and at their lowest they're angry at how she went about things. By the end, Cadsuane's [MASSIVE A MEMORY OF LIGHT SPOILERS!!!] If you like her, that's fine! I think there are worse people as Aes Sedai out there. But I can easily see why Cadsuane is the least popular for others. -

I know in my case, she it was like she was trying to be Moiraine without any of the charm, sympathy, or actual care. Cadsuane is trying to help Rand as an Aes Sedai when Rand has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't trust Aes Sedai. He trusts Nynaeve because she's his friend and he knows she has his best interests at heart. Rand started to trust Moiraine Cadsuane shows none of the same care. She's comes into the picture and breaks all of the things that have been established about Aes Sedai (power level, age, respect, etc) seemingly out of nowhere, making her feel like a bit of a Deus Ex Machina. And overall, she's "proven right" with her mannerisms and teachings, despite the fact that she nearly Oh, and she's a bully. -

Probably Severus Snape. I LOATHE Snape. To me he's the ultimate "nice guy" who thinks he "deserves" the girl because he was her friend first. People rag on Gryffindor for winning the House Cup every year, but one could see that as Dumbledore reversing all of the points that Snape took away when he was being a jerk and a bully. And yes, Snape was a bully. Not just to Harry (which is a entire separate issue), but to Neville, a child whose parental situation he undoubtedly knew about*; he was a bully to Hermione because she was smart; and he was a bully to Ron (because everyone was a bully to Ron). As a teacher Snape is also terrible. Potions is like chemistry. Rules need to be laid down and the teacher needs to be strict. But cruelty and mockery is on the teacher, not the subject. And yes, Snape is cruel. Other characters I loathe: Kylo Ren from Star Wars' Sequel Trilogy, the serial killer in Lonesome Dove (I've yet to finish it because one scene broke me), and probably Cadsuane from The Wheel of Time. Yup. I'm studying to be a teacher at the moment; but even before then, I knew that Snape was an affront to all morally-decent teachers. I really like Dumbledore, but I definitely see where you're coming from and actually agree on some points. *NO STUDENT SHOULD HAVE HIS OR HER GREATEST FEAR BE A TEACHER. Let me repeat that. NO STUDENT SHOULD HAVE HIS OR HER GREATEST FEAR BE A TEACHER.
