  1. With the multiple push/pull lines thing, I believe it's Shadows of Self, but either way, when young Wax thinks about how a bullet is technically multiple parts, he sees the one line split into three. This would indicate that the lines are based on how they perceive the metal. Kelsier probably just thought, "I'd like to affect the two ends of this bar." And since he considered it to be two ends, he had two points to push/pull. The only savantism we really know anything about are bronze and tin and maybe if you stretch it, pewter. Tin we know makes you Daredevil. Blind without it, but with it you basically have a radar. I'd like to see the WoB on bronze savants, as Hero of Ages say a lot of seekers became savants accidentally due to always burning. It seems more likely that bronze savants would be like Marsh, and able to tell how quickly someone was burning a metal. Pewter maybe, maybe, gives pain immunity. I think the problem is, whenever we see savantism, we should see a weakness that matches the strength gained. Like how Spook's body became dependent on tin to have any senses at all. So, maybe a pewter savant would become physically weak when not burning. The others metals are harder, since they're not enhancing a normal trait. I'd guess copper savants might be able to shield anyone in their copper cloud from emotional allomancy, and when not burning have a deadened awareness to being rioted and soothed. Oh, I guess I forgot, we do know some of what aluminum can do. I guess it's downside when not burning could be increased vulnerability to foreign investiture.
  2. They're saying investiture is kinda like a thing scientists think might exist, and not like the stuff normal people might poke with a stick.
  3. Doesn't f-steel basically place a mobile speed bubble on you? I'd think even if that doesn't completely negate the forces on you, it would at least protect you somewhat.
  4. Is it that the victim dies do to a whole in their spirit web? Or is it that they die due to the fact they've now got a massive hole through their heart?
  5. At this point I'd be too new to garner reference. But it would be interesting to see if in this hypothetical situation Sanderson does something with the HSuper adjective in my name, or if he just drops it to get Lee.
  6. I wasn't trying to imply that f-gold would heal savantism, but rather it would help to deal with damage that results from it. For instance, Spook was probably at risk of blindness due to his increased sensitivity. The Lord Ruler probably had this same issue, but it didn't bother him because his retinas would heal from blindness, even if the cause of it (savantism) remains.
  7. The Lord Ruler was supposedly a savant in all metals (that he had access to.) So it's probably safe to say that it's theoretically possible for a Mistborn. Though, without gold healing to compensate for any physical damage the savantism may cause, I'm not sure it would be a pleasant experience. Sure, pewter probably cancels out most of (if not all of) the pain they would cause, but Spook's senses were still overloaded by the sun, even if the pewter helped. In general, I don't think savantism is supposed to be portraid as a good thing to do to yourself.
  8. I don't know if this would be the best, but I'd certainly like double bronze. Think about this, has there ever been a time you've been perfectly awake? As in, no weariness at all. It would be like suddenly having all the energy of a child. Plus, if it compensates for the effects of rest you might get all kinds of bonus effects. While you'd never get to the point of tin or zinc, you always be far more aware of your surroundings.
  9. I mean this is a planet where they built a city that somehow makes the inhabitants occasionally turn into glowing superhumans. If any planet is going to find a way to do it, that planet is Sel.
  10. In the Skyward AMA, Sanderson mentioned some cultures sharing some technology. I have a feeling that once magic and technology begin mingling from planet to planet, individual cultures will become more distinctive in the ships than the magic used to run them.
  11. He's old enough that he's getting tired of waiting for people to invent instant ramen.
  12. And we once again arrive at my, "Scandrians will become the Cosmere equivalent to Kryptonians" theory. Eventually, they'll figure out a way to make more fullborn medallions, and from there they spread out to space and become legends. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part because I'm a massive comic nerd, but I think it's going to happen. Also, as for a fullborn in space. I don't know if this would work due to the way iron conserves momentum, but could they store weight, push off a piece of metal, tap weight, pull that piece of metal back, and actually have moved forward? Because if so they'd also have a reliable method for moving in weightless environments. Edit: I should clarify, I know they wouldn't decelerate in space after an initial push, but I'm specifically thinking about wether or not they could build up speed or change direction without needing multiple pieces of metal.
  13. If I had to guess, I'd say being seeded with hemalurgy means that metalborn powers are fairly easy to steal. 1 spike = 1 power. In contrast, we know it would take 2 spikes to make someone an Elantrin, and I believe it's been said it would take multiple to make someone a Radiant.
  14. I'd actually say it's fairly unlikely.
  15. I actually think describing medallions as pseudo-spikes might actually be a good description, in which case, we've seen people compound with spikes.
  16. Sanderson has alluded to it not being as simple as you may think for Mistborn to burn the god metals. I can't look up the WoB at this time (cough cough nudge nudge Arcanum people please help) but I believe he said it would take some work. But yes, we have the base 16, plus 2, maybe possibly 3 god metals confirmed (harmonium is the maybe possibly,) plus 32 god metal alloys. So we're at about 52 confirmed metals, with a possibility of 68 if harmonium alloys can be made. So, yeah. Mistborn have a lot of potential metals to burn.
  17. According to Coppermind the protection Aon was Aon Edo. While I think the idea definitely works, it probably wouldn't be as simple as carving Edo on the pieces of the armor. Specifically, you'd probably need a bunch of modifiers to allow the wear to still move, as well as shape the force to fit the armor, rather than forming a wall parallel to it. But really, it would probably be easy for someone like Raoden to design if given time to do so.
  18. I believe they're specifically asking if you could use Aons to mass produce functional Aons. It would take a person a decent amount of time to carve an Aon into stone, so could you have an Aon do the carving for you? That kind of thing.
  19. Maybe we'll find out more if we get to see more about Sliverism in the Wax and Wayne era.
  20. Maybe a better working definition for Ascension would be: The channeling of a Shard's power. Of course, then there's the argument all magic is doing that, so we might need to create more specific criteria for how much power needs to be channeled, but that might be best for after Peter creates a definite unite of Investiture. We'd just need to find a good term for becoming a Vessel then. Personally, I like transcendence or even just using vessel as a verb. For example, "Rashek acsended using Preservation's power. Vin also ascended with but later vesseled Preservation's power."
  21. The general idea seems to he that it explains, "Here's how to change Aons so that they are no longer region locked to Arelon." Frankly though, I like the idea of the Moon Scepter being a simplified globe of Sel. I know people believe that its the Dominion part of the Dor that causes the region locking, though I'm not sure if that's confirmed. Based on how important intent is in the Cosmere, I wouldn't be surprised part of unlocking use of all Selish magic is for a person to stop thinking of them selves as a citizen of their country, and start thinking of themselves as a Selian. In which case, the other part of unregion-locking the magic would be to expand the symbols from being based on a region to merely a part of the whole of Sel.
  22. So basically is there a Selish magic that spans the whole planet. A Rosetta Stone for Selish magic, maybe? Sounds to me like a secret that would be kept hidden with an important artifact. Maybe an artifact named for an object that constantly faces Sel and studies it's geography. A Moon Scepter perhaps?
  23. So based on what we saw in Secret History I'd say probably not. I get that an argument could be made for Kelsier giving up Preservation, but it seemed to me more like he got kicked out when a vessel with better connection gained enough of the Shard's power to ascend. I would imagine that while a Shard's power can be divided (actually I would argue all magic is a Shard's power being divided among numerous people) whichever person both holds the most power and is the most connected becomes the Shardholder. In a weird situation where 2 people are equally connected and each share half the power, I'd expect neither would ascend until the circumstance inevitably changes.
  24. Technically I was as well.
  25. I feel like there's a logic fallacy in there somewhere. But, then again, Hoid was crazy enough to go through the Well while Ruin was still there, so I suppose it's possible.
