Cadmium is bendalloy's alternate, isn't it?
-
So, based on the fact that we know the speed bubbles steal/give kinetic energy of objects that travel through them, I would guess that the energy isn't applied uniformly (or it is, and since it's a sphere parts of an object pass through at different angles) and thus the object is deflected.

Silver definitely does something special on Threnody, but in general it doesn't seem any more or less invested than any other mundane material. I know a some people think the allomatically intert idea means something, but it's just saying there's no effect for burning it, same with lead, osmium, scandium, etc.

Yep. Can't let an opportunity for good irony go to waste.

Yeah, as someone who hasn't read Oathbringer yet, I'm mostly ignoring this thread.

It's a bit more complicated than that. As best I can understand it, Harmony works like mixed colors. When you mix res and blue, you get purple. Is purple it's own color, yes. Is purple both red and blue just occupying the same space, yes. We know that should Saze die, he would drop Harmony, not Ruin and Preservation. And they have been intermingled enough that it would require effort to separate them again.
-
Then no. As the shard Ruin no longer exists, it cannot have a perpendicular form from it's power. You could argue that maybe, since the powers of Ruin exceed those of Preservation within Harmony, Saze could be using the extra Ruin to form a new perpendicular. However, we would expect atium generation if Ruin had a new pool, and we have a WoB about how there is no new Atium being formed. Therefore, we can assume the extra Ruin is going somewhere else to keep Harmony balanced, and that there is no new Ruin pool.

When you say full Mistborn spoilers, do you mean through Bands of Mourning and including Secret History?

The problem with that is that we're talking about Wax. He's probably gotten used to waking up whenever someone turns his doorknob. And considering it's Wax, he's got at least 4 guns within arms reach of his bed.

Calling arcanists, where are we at on aluminum blocking the effects of time bubbles? Because this idea has a lot of merit if allomatic spaceships have an aluminum outer layer, with an ettmetal ring around the main body of the ship. If I remember correctly, aluminum blocks the time bubble, and thus you could achieve the warp effect while protecting the passengers from hyper-aging.

There was also that time Wayne drank poisoned tea, collapsed, and got up a few moments later. We don't know if that was a posion that could theoretically be metabolised, but I wouldn't be surprised if gold has a way to deal with it, since gold's effect can loosely be summarized as, "Makes you what you're supposed to be."
-
I'm fairly certain a Fullborn could physically rip their way out of a block of aluminum before their metalminds run out.
-
We've seen Wayne burn out the effects of alcohol with gold. That would indicate it affects poisons too.

My argument for for Rashek basically having permanent self awareness, even when given severe head trauma can be summed up (in weakest to strongest) as: 1) Pain immunity from f-gold and pewter. 2) Being basically the most powerful tineye ever, and tin having been shown to increase awareness. 3) Compounded zinc. As for how long it would have taken Rashek to take over everything, if the people were mostly (kinda sorta maybe) United due to Alendi, then I can imagine that word of Rashek spread quickly. I'm assuming even if he learned about compounding from the Well, it probably took some practice to get right, so he might not have been a physical god instantly, but no one had even seen allomancy like his before. Once word spreads, any king that happens to not be a good man (and let us look to history for how rare those are, or the second book) would get signing up for the power her was offering. At that point, I imagine it would take only a few years for his influence to spread across the planet, with Rashek himself only needing to intervene when his army of many kingdoms was slowed by alliances between large forces. So basically, I'd imagine he took over the world in no more than 30 years.

Personally I've never been a big fan of Halloween. But, that's not excuse to ruin it for other people, so I tend to stock up on a bunch of candy so I can give some to anyone who is into the holiday.

If we're still talking about the Lord Ruler, he'd probably just rip his own head off so he could grow a new one without all the metal.

The start of the Church of the Survivor. It was my first Sanderson book, and I hadn't had anything spoiled about it. Kelsier's death surprised me enough, but then the fact it was all part of a plan to give the Skaa something to fight for blew me away.

I think people overestimate the effect of aluminum on a bloodmaker. Sure, their body won't automatically push it out and heal from it, but they also can keep tapping health to keep it from killing them. Maybe a normal bloodmaker would struggle against it, because they'd have to pull the aluminum out before they run out of health, but a compounder could probably ignore it. It's like when Miles would hold his breath to shoot. Yeah, his cells are constantly dying due to not getting oxygen, but his gold restores them so that he doesn't feel any ill effects. A normal person's body can't push a bullet out, but often times, once the bleeding stops and the wound is disinfected, it doesn't need to be removed. I figure it would be the same with a bloodmaker. They might even be able to close the wound around the bullet so that it simply becomes uselessly lodged in their flesh. My biggest argument against the efficacy of aluminum though, is that Miles basically controlled the vanishers through fear and the fact they couldn't kill him. They had aluminum bullets. Either he was even more cocky than I thought, or he knew that even with aluminum bullets they wouldn't be able to kill him.

Much like with any science question, the answer tends to be true if you input enough energy. Now, in this case, that just means that technically, if you stick enough investiture into an object, it will eventually form a perpendicular, and then it theoretically has access to the spiritual realm. Now whether or not it can be done with any reasonable (I say reasonable) amount of breath? Maybe. We've seen that breath seems to mostly be congitive, so that makes me somewhat hesitiant to support it giving spiritual aspects. That said, Nightblood was created with a plausible amount of biochroma, and if his spiritual aspects wasn't changed during his creation, I don't know what happened. So really, I'd say maybe to awakening spiritual aspects, but the only example we have seems to take an absolute ton of breaths.

Yay! I hit 50 reputation. For some people that might not be much, but I've been a member for less than 2 months, so I'm fairly happy with that.

The Lord Ruler. Got so overconfident that he let himself get killed by someone who he could have killed in an instant. Edit: also that he didn't have back up Atium hidden within his body

The way you described his steel senses almost makes me wonder if he's reaching inquisitor levels of steel sight. Maybe that has something to do with it. He's just really good at using the blue lines to track metal and has been around bullets enough to have gained an excellent understanding of projectile motion. Maybe he even has begun subconsciously pushing on bullets after they've been fired along with changing his push point to move them midair. Of course, that's all just random guessing, because, as Calderis said, Wax is weird.

I assume the aon automatically outputs energy from the Dor equal to the momentum of the attack. As for the recoil on the part of the forcefield, it probably flows back through the aon into the cognitive realm.

I imagine that a very skilled feruchemist could do this. Or maybe they all can but aren't aware of it. They do store specific memories rather than just the latest formed. This would be interesting though, as they could potentially tap while they fill to transfer strength from one body part to another. Like storing strength from the left arm while the right punches with tapped strength.
