Exactly. Who can do it? Who would not rather sabotage something? And who cares about Spren? A wild guess: Sja-Anat She does not know? Judging by the shape likely means that it is man-shaped. This is new. Radiant Spren is likely to mean a spaient Spren. Navani may very well not know about non-humanoid sapient species. I doubt Lift has told many people about Arclo. She just would doubt people would believe her.
-
Right. I forgot about that. So, whom do they suspect of having stolen the Blade?
-
I hate to say this, because it sounds so conventional. Yet Navani is not to type to keep such a thing secret. And Shallan and Adolin need their posteriors chewed and need to report the possibilities of a traitor. Hence, a status meeting. Well, they'll call it a council of war. I am hoping for a Jasnah POV.
-
Kaldin mentioned that Moash has an Honorblade. Teft is not surprised. How can this be? They must know that Jezrien is dead. Have they kept it from the common troops? Does this mean that Jasnah's plan of killing Heralds is right out now? What does this tell us about the long time plans of the coalition? The Heralds cannot help them, the Everstorm is still blowing and Herdaz has fallen? Despair should be setting in.

We called correctly that the battle was over. And we saw a new actor coming in. We just didn't consider how new an actor.
-
We cannot rule out that the dagger is made of an alloy. Thematically an alloy of Raysium and chrome or silver would make sense.
-
Well, we have never observed feruchemical usage of aluminium. Investiture and Identity are distinct. Otherwise how could you have Investiture without Identity? Nor is the metal mind as such keyed. The Investiture within it is. So we have no idea whether Identity (or Fortune) are keyed in the first place.
-
Using somebody else's metalminds presumably.

Prologue made me think Gavilar may not be actually dead.

She wanted the Ghostbloods consider her dead. Her logic was that they would keep sending murderers and eventually one of them would land a lucky blow. That explains why she did not immediately burn their eyes out. She was more right than she knew. They hurt her much worse than she had planned for. That was how the cut part reads. She panicked. It looks like Transportation is really hard to master. -
How could a Knight Radiant cause a desolation? Has Sylphrena given us the answer? A Bondsmith has created the Oathpact. Odium assumed that Dalinar could set him free. Could a Bondsmith undo the Oathpact and cause a permanent Desolation? Did Ishar have a valid point? More Radiants -> a new Bondsmith likelier -> a new Bondsmith would not know what he is doing

It is not the case that following order excuses doing something bad. Honor is about following oaths first and foremost. Following orders is following your oaths if you are in an army. Or as the Stormfather said about Rathalas: They broke their oaths. Treating people humanely is tertiary at best. Following oaths and duties is primary. Remember how Nale lauded Szeth for following orders. This is not a matter of needing an excuse. You do not. Following orders is a virtue. EDIT: Neither was ordered to do what he did. Of course he had a choice. There were a lot of young men in that village. Arguably he did his overlord a disservice by sending him an inferior recruit. He abused his power and position, again, for personal reasons. That is what makes him bad. You might note that Dalinar was treated with awe rather than revulsion. And I could quote the Stormfather again. What Dalinar did at Rathalas does not cause universal condemnation. Part of fealty is that you suffer for your lord's actions. Roshone certainly did not. Dalinar arguably did. And there never was an uprising after Rathalas. Gaz did follow orders. Running a bridge was supposed to be punishment. That was what got Teft there. Yes, Gaz did enjoy it. No, that does not make him bad. The idea that only in denial of yourself and your nature can you find nobility is a specific Western, in fact Christian, notion. Vorins do not share it. Virtue is excellence in your strength. You have a calling and you are supposed to be best at what you love. Hence if you are charged with mistreating slaves, you will be supposed to draw at least satisfaction for a job well done from it.

Roshar is full of spren drawn by emotions and mental states. They are harmless outside of Shadesmar. They are, however, quite revealing. "I am not afraid" is kind of ridiculous while you are surrounded by fearspren. So, how do they deal with it? Is it polite to ignore somebody's spren? Are Rosharans unusually open about their emotions? And how do they play poker?
-
It may be Venli's (auto)biography or her writing a book about her sister. Or Rlain writing something. The only thing we can be reasonably certain of that is a Singer work.
-
Why? Collectively acting against populations is the core of war. What Dalinar did was no different from bombings: Guernica, Rotterdam, Belgrade, Hamburg, Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Hanoi ... Dalinar, in contrast to Sadeas, has not betrayed allies.
-
It depends on whether Roshone has a back door. Following any user of Gravitation under these circumstances is a bad idea. The weather is questionable He may lead them into an ambush He could have another of those cancellation fabrials and they have no idea what it would do to a Honorblade Fourth Bridge must be protected It looks to me like Renarin will recover Kaladin as his first priority. I can't help myself, the action looks finished. Everybody has a good reason to retreat. Maybe we are seeing a flashback to Shallan when something unexpected happens. But to me look it looks like time for something new.

There are multiple kinds of elite. In this case power shifts from the genetic elite to the elite with money.

Odium is still confined to the Rosharan system, albeit no longer to Braize. It should still be possible to reestablish the old cycle by winning this Desolation and a Herald going back to Braize. In fact strictly speaking it reads like one needs to be physically present on Braize, not in the hands of the Fused to be tortured. So they might send an expedition to Braize sheltering a Herald. The other option is that they make a deal. Why would Roshar bleed alone for the Cosmere? Offer Odium a deal like Taravangian did, only that Dalinar can make a better offer.
-
Sure you can. That you do not feel so would just make you a bad Vorin. You are supposed to anticipate and take over the attitude of your superiors. He tried to do his job well, which is more important under Vorinism than to be nice.
-
But will that be shown? Fourth Bridge acting as a taxi is not all that interesting, frankly. They may be trying to hunt down Moash now. But frankly, this felt like the end of something with a clean break coming up, Jasnah or Venli maybe.
-
Unfortunately, no. Steel is used in half-shards (Oathbringer , chapter 100) It is not quite as simple as that. They do something physical, but it has no connection with force.
-
Well, but these stars must be relativey close together, so the map must look totally different from each of them.
-
Well, that tells us how the languages are related. But how about the scripts? English and Sinhalese for example are related but use different scripts. But English and Basque are unrelated yet use the same script.
-
Now, I may be dense, but that chart shows Roshar. Hence it cannot be drawn from the perspective of Roshar. I always assumed it to be drawn on Yolen.
-
We know that the Vorin lands, Shinovar and the Azish lands have their own writing systems. The only major culture unclear to me is the Reshi. Do they know how to write? If so, which script do they use?
-
Shouldn't the planets of the same star system be adjacent to each other in Shadesmar? And given that the continent of Roshar is almost exclusively on the southern hemisphere, towards the sun should be north.
