  1. I will! I was in line right before him. I was hoping the combination of the leather-bound,it being written down, and stars aligning might have increased my chances of not getting a RAFO from 0% to .5% hahaha. How long does it normally take for everyone to transcribe it on the Arcanum? Or should I just go over there to help transcribe his question?
  2. My roommate isn't a member of the 17th shard but here is the question and answer he got: Q: Do any of the Shards regret becoming Shards? Brandon: (Hesitantly).... Um Yes. Q: Yes? Brandon: I would say yes. My question (I wrote it down in my leather-bound Well of Ascension) Q: Is there a Shard named Judgement or and antonym (ie Justice) Brandon: (sees my question written down) Oh umm... yeah that's a RAFO.
  3. I'll be attending this with my roommate! How long do the signings normally go? I assume probably a couple of hours?
  4. There are dozens of us!!! It's so good . Second favorite movie is The Sword in the Stone. For all the same reasons as Kiki's Delivery Service. Another unpopular opinion: I like Denna from The Name of the wind. Reasons, because Kvothe is a terrible person and he deserves her. In addition once I understood that their relationship was akin to ships passing in the night I began to enjoy those scenes. But mostly because she won't let herself be won over.
  5. I dont think so. You mention the point that Shallan creates these personalities. Her mind invents versions of herself to cope with things she mentally is incapable of taking on during the current events of the books. Renarin is using a hacked version, since we know his spren is corrupted, so I would imagine his future sight has more to do with that then it being linked to the way gold functions for mistings/mistborn.
  6. Chaos- "I find Elhokar to be one of Brandon's... best written characters." I laughed so hard at everyone's reactions.
  7. So I've been thinking on the description of Endowment. I thought in my head how cool it would be if Vivenna had met Endowment and how she would describe that. (Also I'm not a writer so this might be rough ) Vivenna looked into Endowments eyes. In that moment she saw infinity and in that infinity she found a warmth unlike any other. A gift she felt made for her, but no that wasn't the right way to describe it. It was all gifts. Infinite versions of herself, everything and anything she could become stretched across infinity. It felt warm at first, but now she realized suddenly how cold she was, how cold this vastness had become. "Was this a lack of... of emotion? No, that wasn't the right word." Vivenna thought to herself. The power peered straight into her soul and she could feel that it didn't see her as a person, an individual, or even alive. This vast infinity seemed to encapsulate her, suffocating her, threatened to fill her with a piece of its infinity against her will. This infinity threatened to render and stretch her until she no longer existed. And then the moment passed...
  8. So Brandon has said that the Rhythms are Cosmere wide, meaning they would still hear them on Scadrial. Also this post confirms that a Seeker could theoretically hear the Rhythms. It is not yet clear how the Listeners/Singers hear the Rhythms I think it is probably because their race was created by Adonalsium. So yes I would say similar because they are linked in some fashion.
  9. Well I've been using this username for everything for what... a little over a decade now? (God I'm old lol). Oh the story is quite lame. I put my full name into an anagram maker back in the early days of Facebook (it was an early app on the site). But anyway it output Johnny Rook Eastland. I dropped the Rook and thought that it would be easy for people in the FPS community (I played a lot at the time, still do) to shout hey Johnny than whatever dumb name I would have made. Plus Eastland sounded a lot like Eastwood, and Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor. Kinda lame lol
  10. I agree and I remember seeing a WoB like that. Plus I believe there is a second WoB out there saying that a regular person summoning their Shardblade would take longer to get to them. Which is essentially taking the spren off-world, not the same but close enough that I would agree it could be done but not easy. Plus we don't know the specific's of the Oathpact. Whatever it is allowed the Heralds being cognitive shadows to travel between worlds. That is definitely not the norm from what we've seen lol.
  11. True, but as for the topic it doesn't matter that Herald was killed at the end of OB. Nale bonded a spren with the Oathpact still in tact-ish.
  12. Fair enough lol. But in chapter 38 of OB the Stormfather says "The Oathpact has almost been weakened to annihilation." They read it on the Shardcast Oathpact discussion.
  13. The second Wob was just before Oathbringer released in September. So it would still stand
  14. @Wreith the Oathpact is not broken... yet. Its been stated that is it has been severely weakened.
  15. I think that your explanation is right on point. Our best evidence comes from the Bands of Mourning. Near the end I remember there is a scene where Wax Steel pushes himself into the sky using the Bands. What I remember is he describes that the effort required to balance himself so high without the Bands would have required more effort and multiple coins. This would mean that the OG MIsborn would have had stronger and longer "poles" to use when pushing on metals. The potency of their "pole" decreased as time went on through the generations.
  16. My favorite hands down are steel, gold, and chromium. I like them because of the crazy stuff you could do if you were a twinborn compounder in era 2 for any of those 3. I've also been trying to think of a way to hijack the metallic arts into a Dungeon world campaign. I'll probably steal ideas from the Mistborn Adventure Game lol
  17. My theory is that when they became cognitive shadow's they also have copies of their spirit webs. Its just not their original spirit web from when they were alive. Spren are also sapient investiture and we know that they are attracted to people with broken spirit webs. Though it may be different because (assuming I am right) they have copies and not their original spirit webs.
  18. Well that WoB is pretty definitive lol. So the only weapon that works for what I'm thinking is the Kyoketsu-shoge. While it has the same premise as the chain and sickle the blade is whats thrown. I know I had seen it somewhere and I lumped it in my mind with the chain and sickle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoketsu-shoge
  19. Oh I remember lol. But wouldn't the ball and chain still have the same effect? Im pretty sure that it would pass through you the same as a shardblade (unprotected skin that is). Unless it acts 100% differently because its a blunt object. Would a Shardhammer have the same effect as a shardblade since its blunt?
  20. Unpopular opinion: My favorite movie of all time is Kiki's Delivery Service. I watch it at least 2-3 times a year. I know no one agrees but the art is phenomenal, the ost is amazing, and I love the story of a young woman trying to find her place in society. (I have the art-book where Miyazaki explains that was the actual plot of the movie which I think most people miss since its to slow for them). Second Unpopular Opinion: Superman is the worst Superhero of all time. He is boring, plain, and overall the worst. He doesn't deserve to stand next to Spider-Man or Batman as the most popular superheros. Hes just awful.
  21. The Sylpoongun would be cool to see! Its unfortunate that they dont have that level of technology. I think the most likely and useful ranged weapon (not bow and arrow type ranged) would be the Chain and Sylckle . It would probably be a more effective ranged weapon than a bow and arrow for Roshar.
  22. Well if I was to choose based off of powers alone I would say Lord Ruler all day everyday. Now if we are talking about people I would want to be? Dalinar hands down. By the end of Oathbringer I can honestly say that he is my favorite Fictional character tied with Prince Zuko from the Last Airbender. Everything about his story and who he becomes by the end of OB is some of the best character development I have ever seen. I resonate most with who he is and his story. “I will take responsibility for what I have done,” Dalinar whispered. “If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” “The most important step a man can take. It's not the first one, is it? It's the next one. Always the next step, Dalinar.” Yeah he's the best
  23. While I dont know that I agree with the specifics of your theory I do agree with your premise. My roommate and I have talked about this a lot. There seems to be a lot of evidence in the Cosmere that Hoid is an antagonist at some level. We know that most of the vessels do not like him. In letters and The Traveler we see that no one agrees with whatever his specific mission is. While he may not be a antagonist in the stories I would agree with your premise that Brandon is foreshadowing this for future more Cosmere-wide oriented books.
  24. To add to this. We know from the Traveler that Dragon's in human form have different and very distinct eyes. "The pupils were rimmed with a silver far too metallic to be natural, at least for a human." I would imagine that if Leras or Ati were dragon's in Human form before passing Kelsier would have at least mentioned that.
  25. As much as it kills me to say this, Dalinar. He is my favorite character but he due to several factors he either dies at the end of book 5 or ascends in some fashion. He's the only character I am certain will die. Well Taravangian I'm pretty certain will die.
