Welcome Marzipan! If you had to pick one knight radiant, which one would you be?
-
But Fura didn't realize that. Similar to the "rubber hand illusion" psychology experiment. If you feel like you will be hurt, regardless to whether you will or not, you will still respond as is you will be. (Plus, I didn't read all 33 pages of this thread before posting... Shame on me... : ) )

Fura was minding his own business on the shard, when he suddenly heard a bunch of noise as if a battle was happening to his left. Instead of turning away and running, he turned towards the noise. What was happening? He walked over to the wall, and felt around, and found a secret door. He pulled on the handle and saw a fancy door behind the secret one. This door was engraved with the words: Books before friends. 17th Shard before the real world. Release dates before birthdays. These words looked strangely familiar to Fura, but he wasn't sure why. As he opened the door, he was greeted by an explosion. Before he knew what he was saying, Fura spoke the words, "I will read all Brandon, even if it is not Cosmere". A bunch of books on the walls sprang to life and shielded Fura from the explosion.

Cool. ...I have read the threads, and created a charecter (sent it to archer etc.). I just havent done any of the actual role playing yet. : )
-
...Wait, I havent actually done anything in the alleyverse yet (other than have a character)... Is a worldspike, like, Hemalurgy on the world level?... Or a spike into the worldspire? Anyway, I am not sure how I am supposed to get started, but I would love to join this as well.

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Furamirionind replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thank you so much! Yes, I have played mafia, Werewolf, town of salem, and a couple other variations of the game. So I am familiar with the concept. : ) I am much less nervous now... Can't wait!- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Furamirionind replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am rather nervous about playing in a way that will make the game enjoyable to others... Will we get guidelines about stuff based on what character we get, or have I just not read far enough in the forums for this info? (This is my first game)- 1062 replies

Why is MBE4 the end of the Cosmere story?
Furamirionind replied to Ripheus23's topic in Cosmere Discussion
we know Hoid is going to have a major role in era 4, but do we know if we are going to get a POV from him in it? -
Sanderson's Leaher-bound books
Furamirionind replied to Furamirionind's topic in General Brandon Discussion
you could (and I may) argue that vegetarianism is a less dedicated version of Veganism... (vegetarian used to mean no animal products at all... then it was changed to vegan.) -
Sanderson's Leaher-bound books
Furamirionind replied to Furamirionind's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Well, they are kind-of called "leather-bound" books... Most times when foax-leather is used (like the "Eragon Collector's Edition"), people are upfront about it because they want people like me to know it is foax, not real. So I contacted them to double check they aren't just one of the (very) few who aren't upfront about it. Haven't gotten a reply yet, but I only sent something today. I can't expect them to get back so fast. Nope!... Veganism : ) -
Sanderson's Leaher-bound books
Furamirionind replied to Furamirionind's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Umm... My own? I don't know... I believe that all animals (Dolphins, cows, humans, etc.) are alive, have brains, think, feel etc. So in my head, reading a book made with cow skin would be comparable to reading a book made with human skin. High quality, but a bit disturbing. (Also, I doubt the creatures dying to create these books had all too pleasant lives...) -
Sanderson's Leaher-bound books
Furamirionind replied to Furamirionind's topic in General Brandon Discussion
… I appreciate your recommendation. However, I cannot morally buy the skin of a dead creature. I do not try to dissuade others from these things, however, I personally can't by a leather book (or leather shoes, or meat, etc...) I REALLY want to buy it... which is why I am asking this. I have contacted them, and hopefully don't have to wait too long for a reply... : ) -
This is an interesting idea... and I think as aspect of this may be true. However, I can't think it was a coincidence that Leras considered 16 to be the "perfect" number and Adonalsium shattered into 16 shards. That may be a little thing to find as we go into Dragonsteel... in 15 years or so... If anything, I think 16 may be Yolen's number where Scadrial may be 8 (8 basic metals) The shardblades we see are also dead spren, so I think it is unlikely that the unmade are splinters of a dead spen. However, I do like the idea that they originate from Braize. According the the Stormfather, there is: the Stormfather, the Nightwatcher, & the Sibling. This would make me think that there are only 3. Not 10. Since each is asociated with a shard as well: Cultivation, Honor, & Mystery (my guess is a combination of Honor and Cultivation). Though I believe that spren are splinters of shards (?), shards are splinters of Adonalsium... There could be more levels in between...

I was thinking along the lines of Alcatraz being in the Cosmere... But having the Talents as a separate entity from Adonalsium. So Adonalsium would still have incredible power, but no power over Alcatraz's power. (however, would have power over Alcatraz as the shards can manipulate the 3 realms... And as the talent would probably reside in either the cognitive or spiritual realms, Adonalsium would have some power over it as well...)

Just as a question, Sanderson's leather-bound books are real leather I assume and not foax-leather? I really want to get the leather-bound versions, but I can't bring myself to if they are actually leather. I know Paolini made the cover of his "Colecter's Edition" of Eragon foax-leather...

Weren't we supposed to be asking @AonEne the questions, and not the other way around? : P If you had to pick an order of knights radiant, which do you think you would be, and which would you want to be? if you had to pick one power from any of Brandon's books (including Alcatraz, Reckoners, Rithmatist, I Hate Dragons, etc.), what would it be?

This question is something I personally would like to ask Brandon, but I figured I should settle for posting a thread on it, as it wouldn't be a meaningful WoB... Anyway, we don't know the extent of Calamity's powers all that much, but I think he might be the worst off in this as is a being whose powers typically manipulate the physical realm where they can only mildly hurt Adonalsium, and where Alcatraz has such an OP power. Adonalsium, again, we don't know the full extent of powers. But has significant control over all that happens in all three realms. Alcatraz's talent... breaks things. Could he break Adonalsium's control over him and the three realms? I want to say that Alcatraz would win as he would just "break" (shatter) Adonalsium, and would break Calamity's access to magic... but what do you think?

Ask Axelius Anything* (AKA Sanderson vs. Tolkien Duel)
Furamirionind replied to Sherlock Holmes's topic in AMAs
Though I disagree about Tolkien vs. Brandon, 100% agree on this. Vanilla tastes great! What's your favorite tabletop game? What is a creative question that you don't want to be asked? : P -
I have 3 tags I usually go by: "Monkeyman5733" (created when I was 8 as I love monkeys. The number is just something I thought sounded good. Took me ~15 minutes to come up with that number specifically) "DesignerLoki" (auto generated for me by X-box live. I identified with it, so kept it for certain accounts) "Furamirionind" - My current one. I made this one about a year ago as I was (and am) unhappy with how uncreative and unoriginal the other names were. I love role playing and strategy games, and always played as an Elf (when possible). So I looked up a Sindarin-English dictionary, found the words: 'Fura', 'Mirion', & 'Ind' Fura - means "Lie" Mirion - means "Jewel" (is associated with my IRL name) Ind - means "Inner thought, mind, meaning, heart" All of these words involve things I associate with my character (both personally and RP)... So I just smashed the words together and called it my name. : ) Though, it is a mouthful to say... So I am trying to think of ways to simplify it... My current thought is to make it, "Furamiriind"/"Furamireind".

I'm going to this signing, but I'll be coming up from Eugene OR (about a 6 hr drive). I'll record the signing line if no one else can do it, but I probably won't make it to the UW campus until about 1:00 pm. If any sharders are going to be there, let me know and we can meet up. Hopefully I can get my buddy to go to this too (one of my only friends irl who is into the Cosmere). I live 30 minutes from there... I will definitely be trying to go... Though my schedule is so busy I won't know until right before... : /

Welcome and have an upvote! What is your favorite book? If you could choose one magic system (counting each radiant order as it's own system), which Brandon Sanderson magic system would you want to have? What other books have you read? (non-Brandon/non-cosmere) Be wary of people offering you cookies. I would suggest you check out Archer's about me page for details Though you probably already know about the "My life to yours..." saying as you have read Warbreaker. Though there is a club on here for Drabs, so if you want to join, feel free to give your Breath to me. I wont mind.

Cosmere Symbology Department
Furamirionind replied to Darkwalker's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
It has been several months since the last post... So I don't know if this is still ongoing. However, if it is, I would love to join. Possibly as a specialist. I am very familiar with Roshar (like most people), Scadrial, and then Sel (in that order). But lately I have been doing a ton of research on the cosmere as a whole, so it wouldn't be difficult to mold into any of them. In case the post wasn't updated, but you already have them filled. -

1. Marvel or DC?... Or both? I suppose that is technically an option too... 2. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? 3. If you look at an object and see blue, is the object blue, or is the object actually every color except blue? 4.
