  1. What type of food do you absolutely dislike? I'll take a truth as well.
  2. Spoilers Book Four below @AonEne No spoilers beyond book 1 below
  3. Well... if all of us liked the same books, it would be boring... Regarding your spoiler:
  4. "I don't think we should believe that we know what is best for the world." Sagitta shook her head. "If someone finds solace in a prayer, what right do we have to take it from them? To rip their world apart and to tell them, that their culture, their whole society is based on a huge lie?" She narrowed her eyes at him. "We are human, no gods. It's not our place to destroy so much, to decide about this destruction. There are gods, because they are more powerful, because they know about things, we can't even imagine existing." "It's the point about them being gods and us being human. We are here to serve, to do their biding and to pray." With a sigh she shook her head again, this time at herself. "Well, maybe not. That last sentence was obviously wrong. But still. Do you really want to take away all solace, all hold a crying mother has, whose child just died in one of our wars?"
  5. Jessy took Cheh's hand and closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again a barrier flickered to life around them. It was like a wall, a cage surrounding them, and she had to concentrate to keept it in place. Protecting herself had become as easy as breathing. A larger zone was more difficult, but for now it worked. She felt the heat in her neck, just below her hair, suspected that she would have to pay with a headache later. But for now it held.
  6. But why????
  7. [X] The limerick I like the dolls, but I don't want for Songbearer to receive more gifts that need lots of breaths to function. I think we should focus on interaction, on art that has something to do with humans, and the limerick is perfect for that. [x] Visit Coinspender I agree, that we should try to rescue what we can. I doubt, that we will ever be good friends with Coinspender, but maybe we can forge a relationship based on respect. Even if we don't agree, "respected opponent" would be preferable to "hated enemy" [x] Ride through the city We should finally leave our palace. Maybe we can visit a school, or a hospital. Something that helps our evolving image as a scholar, and prerably someone who helps.
  8. "She's lying." Mike hissed violently "Hemalurgy doesn't work like that. You can't just kill someone like that and then claim, that it was hemalurgy." He narrowed his eyes at the girl. "Why did you start talking about that anyway? To me it seems like like you bring up one of the most gruesome forms of Investiture, to cover up on the fact, that maybe you indeed know something about the assassination." He stared at her, his eyes changing to Wolf's when he felt him press against his own will. Wolf was angry, near to furious. The girl, and maybe some others had attacked them, had attacked his pack. It took Mike a heartbeat to understand that Wolf suddenly extended pack beyond his friends, that pack now were almost everybody around. What good that might do him. @AonEne
  9. Althea looked over those assembled. She had been accepted into the team, and she was still trying to sort her feelings in that regard. Without saying something she joined Adren again, planed to finish their conversation. Things had picked up, after the announcement of the members, with the preparations to meet here, to get everything ready and sorted. "To answer your question." She said instead of a greeting. "Yes, I do have a few watching the company on the surface. What good that will do." She tried to recognize a few familiar faces, commited those that were already here to her memory. "I have to admit I am a bit unsure, what they expect us to do now." She told him, and watched a young woman receive a tablet and then join another group of people. "But to adress another concern of yours, I agree, the tunnels would be a possiblity to get of us. Thankfully I am hard to imprison." At least as long as she had access to stormlight. Without, she was helpless as a mouse. Nothing she'd advertise, although she knew, that she had to be careful. If she ran out of spheres down there, the consequences would be grave. As usual she caried a bag of spheres, made sure to do nothing to highlight her bracelet. Devaan's advice was sound. It was better to have two different supplies, one only accessable by her, instead of relying completely on a bag with spheres that could be stolen easily.
  10. Sagitta shook her head, slightly surprised that he allowed her to keep his hand that easily. His hand was soft and warm despite the colder air around them. Unconciously she tightened her fingers around his. "I don't doubt that your engineering is impressive," she started, "but they are gods. They created us, they can destroy us easily. I can't fight them. You can't fight them, you just don't." "They lied to us, lied about the stars, and we have no idea what lies we were told as well. If their powers are changing, what if they want to experiment on us?" It was nonsense, but she looked at the stars again, surprised by her calm voice, but realized that she didn't feel the same desperation as earlier. She felt empty, disappointed. "When I fight for my country, I fight for them, because they are the foundation of what we are. My friends died for them, for our country and now they show up, and tell us they don't care. We tell them the stories of our dead, we ask them to remember us and they don't care."
  11. Lena followed them inside, looked around curiously. "Actually yes, we do." She extended a hand, looked Aln up and down. "Lena." "Schools are maybe a step too far, but both of us lack the knowledge to teach the people about rebuilding. They help, but if they knew what to do, creating new homes would be a lost faster and easier for all sides. We could decide on where to build a school and do it together with them. That also reduces the costs a lot." She grimaced at her words. Reduce costs. What an unneccessary thing to say.
  12. "Do you want to question her?" Mike asked Mari, his voice sounding raw and constricted. Snake was still tasting the air now and then and he had to fight hard to keep her in check. This was important, he should be strong and confident, but his internal battle ate up so much energy that he nearly cried. @kenod
  13. Wita shrugged and started to search for a key. She had seen a series where the key was hidden outside and she felt like it couldn't hurt. The doormat, nothing there. A strange frog statue, nothing, the pots with the flowers were heavy, but she pushed them aside and there it was. With a triumphant grin she lifted the key into the air. Standing up, she unlocked the door and pushed it open.
  14. "Hello." Lena grinned at her. "There a few matters where we lack the knowledge to solve them completely and we wanted to ask if you could be of assistance."
  15. Lena shrugged. "If I poison their food they will die like everybody else." "We can finish the most dangerous ones off together and then each take over the smaller fish. If we don't head out every night, but keep it unpredictable, we can take them by surprise." She looked at him for a moment, then added. "There aren't that many that accept my fascination for poisons that easily, that work together with me. And additionally let me cook as well." She winked at him. === @Rushu42
  16. "I didn't change." She told him with a shrug. "You simply got used to me and my little friends." Her hand patted her bag. "But our relationship changed." She admitted, stepped up to the door but didn't open it yet. He was helping her to raise her child. She wasn't even sure if she'd prefered blackmailing each other, to living together, but for now it worked. Somehow it worked. "I can take over half of the nights." She offered, although she wondered if he really believed killing people at night helped the poor. He had changed as well. Maybe even she had changed.
  17. "Of course." Lena continued to grin and lead the way. After a while her steps changed slowly, became sure again. "You can do what you want." She told him after a while. "But Mart likes you, don't destroy yourself so much, that he will notice. He lost enough." She stopped, looked at the building in front of them. Another full circle. Strange how life sometimes dealt out your cards. "It's like when we first met. The two of us standing in front of another organisation." @I think I am here.
  18. Mike put on some gloves and placed the cube against the girls skin. He could see nothing, but if the cube was from Lusk it would work. "Of course, sir." He replied to Lusk's idea, while snake tasted the air. Blood and fear. Mike grimaced. @AonEne
  19. Sagitta felt cold at his words. Come with them? The gods should come with them, more lies, more talk about strange powers. "Are you sure?" She asked him quietly, a hint of desperation in her voice "If they loose control, they might be dangerous." She came up with a reason, any reason so that they could travel alone. It was all a lie, a lie and she was afraid what else would be discovered so that her whole world would break apart. "They are gods." She gestured to the place where Tion had disappeared and frowned. "They are above us." In a pleading gesture she took his hand. @I think I am here.
  20. Mike knelt down as well a protective urge in his stomach. "Try to wake her up." Gently he shook her shoulder, his hand covered with fur. @AonEne
