"Yes, balloons." Shana nodded, her thoughts still lingering somewhere else. She walked through the store until she saw the balloons. She stopped, looked at them and did nothing, except breathing. Water, so much water. And she'd killed. What would they think of her, of the one she became?

Temeria hastily followed him down into the tomb. She didn't think about it, didn't even consider to stay behind. Alone, no being alone was worse than entering a crypt. Nervously her hand closed around the handle of her sword and stayed close to Mac. He had talked about fighting a Shardbearer. He had to know what he was doing. Silently she watched him do something with things that reminded her of nails, pushed them into his own body and she froze, suddenly glad that he couldn't see her. but then she hadn't really seen what he did either. So she had to be wrong. Maybe they were some kind of weapon. She wasn't one to judge other people's tastes, but this seemed to be a bit extreme. But to adress it now seemed to be a bad idea as well. If he turned on her, he wouldn't he'd offered her so much. If he wanted to harm her, he could have killed her already. She stayed back when he pushed open the coffin, and looked inside, glanced around the room now and then. The tomb was cool and pressed on her mood, but at least she wasn't alone. Being along would have been worse. "What are you doing?" She asked mostly to fill the silence, followed the urge to bring something alive in this atmosphere of dead. @MacThorstenson @Voidus

"I like forests." She smiled as well. "I've lived-" Shana swallowed and then shook her head. "on the other side of the continent." She finished quickly, shooked her head and started to search for balloons.

Mike. His name was Mike. He stared at the stage, at Mr. Itiah, at Wes, who had paled, Anthony who seemed to be excited? He wasn't sure. He heard the cheers, the clapping and something snapped. He rushed towards the stage and climed on it, stepped to the front, so that they had to see him and then he lifted his arms, waited until the room was slightly quieter. He stood there, breathing hard, almost panting. For once he was alone, alone in his rage, in his fury. The pain, so much pain. Bella had known who he was, Bella had used his real name. Wes, Wes knew it, and maybe Seom. "I decline!" He shouted in the room, and then it was quiet. "I decline." he repeated. "I don't want this freaking promotion. My name is Mike. Mike! Not Michael, not Mustafa, not Monica and not Mary. It's M, I, K ,E! Mike." Whirling around he stared at Mr. Itiah, at the righthand's assistant, at those that watched and observed. "Is it too much, if I ask to be called by my name? By my real name? It's four letters. Nothing more, but four letters. I risk my life for you, I nearly died for you, and nobody here cares enough to remember my name." Shaking his hands formed fists and he fell silent, felt the tears running down his cheeks. "I don't want this promotion. Give it to.... her." He pointed at a random person (= @kenod ). "I don't want it." Turning around he stumbled of the stage. @Sherlock Holmes @I think I am here.

"So it's decided. Lemon and forest." Shana started to load the candles into their cart and then looked at the next point on her list. "Confetti, balloons and if possible a disco light." She looked up at James, holding the candle in his hand, realized that he'd only arrived a few weeks ago. "Where do you come from?"

Uncomfortably she had to fight hard to suppress the urge to turn around and flee when he stared at her like that. Years of practice made it easy to keep her mask, to control her face and her eyes, but they didn't change a lot about the way she felt beneath it. It had been a while since she wished for her sunglasses to hide her eyes, but here in this place she suddenly itched to get it out of her pocket and slip it on. People had stopped staring that openly once she'd been part of the Council and later the Triarchy. Most only whispered behind her back. Instead she forced herself to meet his eyes cooly, look into them with her own. Let him stare. Let them all stare, laugh at her because of her appearance. She was who she was. And there was at least one person, that thought her beautiful. "I'm an Elsecaller." she replied her voice carefully controlled as well, leaving away her ideal. Let him figure it out on his own. "So I keep around a spren, to use your expression." She lifted a hand and gently touched the little spren on her shoulder. Brashen looked at Adren, and she could only imagine, that he wasn't too amused by the conversation. He'd started to mistrust strangers, almost feared them.

Shana laughed and stopped in front of the shelf with the candles. "Lavender." She lifted a violett one and grimaced. "Awful sweet." Looking through them for yellow and green she held up yellow. "Lemon, not surprisingly, but it's actually only half bad." She offered it to him and picked up a green one. "Forest...."

Temeria almost whirled around, when he replied, realized she had spoken loudly. Embarressed she followed him over to another statue, the founder of some fighting oriented guild. He had mentioned the guilds before and so she nodded. Scholar's guild, Conton of Combat. She'd had to pay both of them a visit. It might be useful to belong somewhere, although at the moment she was glad that she was free, unbound by some guilds rules. She had to understand more about this place first, before she would make that decision. A good spot, maybe he was right and she was in a good position, had a chance to do something, to become someone else. To change. Or maybe that was for people who were good at what they did, unlike her who was only mediocre, nothing but a life ready to be thrown away when it fit someone. Contemplating his offer to take her home she looked at him for a while, with his cloths that seemed formal, although she could only guess on that part, the hat, the curly hair. Remembered how his face had darkened sometimes, how he'd declined a drink. The way he casually spoke about taking her home was almost frightened, as if it wasn't something rare, something difficult, like she had thought. "No." Slowly she shook her head,, "I have no place to go there either, not anymore." she admitted and then forced herself to smile at him. "I might come back to that offer later though, but for now - you are right it's a chance. Throwing it away would be stupid." "Did you find something?" She asked when she saw him read something on a little slip of paper and smiled when she saw the spren sitting on a candle below, dangling its feet in the hair. A smile touched her lips when she saw it like that, uncaring, free. "It seems, like you really attrackted someone with your hat." She told Mac, gestured towards the spren. @MacThorstenson

"If you need medical treatment, there is a hospital not too far away. They should be able to do something about your cough." Althea suggested to him, although her voice of her face didn't really change. It was a fact, the hospital was there. And she would be surprised if he hadn't heard them. "The idea of a living coppermind is interesting. Did you meassure how long it took until something happened, or did the effect manifest itself immediatly?" She asked curiously, glad to have found someone to talk to about investiture. That his weapon also had a mind of his own, that it liked stories. Maybe the interactions between the three of them, had also done something to develop the cleaver's personality further. She'd have to look into that at one point or the other.

Temeria followed him into the hall, quickly looked the guards up and down. The hall was impressive, huge. Some of the materials she had never seen before and she couldn't even place them. Her steps echoed slightly and almost gaped at the statues. They looked heroic, strong like heros from a story. She made sure to stay close to Mac, didn't want to loose him in the strange city. She stopped in front of his statue and smiled when she heard how proud he was. "It is pretty good. Looks like you modelled for it?" She asked, although the thought that one day, a statue of her would stand in a hall wasn't exactly alluring. But then she'd never do anything that would be worth noticing. It wasn't her job to be noticed, that was for higher ranking - pausing she smiled at her thoughts. New world, new rules. She wasn't a soldier anymore. For now she was a traveller. Looking around she felt small and unimportant, lost. This place, the world. Walking immortals. How was she ever able to find a place where she could be useful? Apart from guarding a place until he took over himself, the moment someone dangerous came. He was kind, maybe he'd saved her, or she'd have gotten herself killed within a few hours. A place to stay alone was worth more than everything she owned "I wonder, what I can do here, in this city, in this world. I'm just a woman, nobody special. From what I've seen, a sword is useless. I'm like a traveller that ended up in a dark forest and lost her way." Mostly she spoke to herself, the hall pressing down on her, like a mirror reflecting her uselessness. @MacThorstenson

Shana nodded, excitedly shifted in her seat, glad when she could see the store in the distance. "We need to hurry. It's so many things to do, so that it will work out." ===========

Perfect thanks. Shana texted back. For decorations. Then she wrote a quick message to Leona and Cassie. Colours are yellow and green. I asked. Looking up at James she lifted her phone. "Yellow and green. Maybe with white, that usually looks good." @Wyndlerunner @BookishOcelot @AonEne

Sagitta considered his words and question carefully. The stars were the stars, because she thought of them as stars. It was a strange concept, the stars were stars. Even a child, that didn't know what the stars were, couldn't change them being stars. They were always the same. If she knew how to call them didn't matter. Stars were nothing but stars. Her face fell, when she realized that his answer was a no. He hadn't created the stars for them. He hadn't named them, united them. She closed a hand, as if to hold on to broken parts, to keep that tale true and real. "No, I haven't." She replied and narrowed her eyes on him. There was no reason to ask them. None of them were of Negation or Sensation, so maybe they couldn't feel their instincts, or know if something was off with them, but still the question was off. They were gods. There was no need to ask about their powers or if they fluctated. "What is wrong?"

Laughing Temeria watched the spren change his appearance to fit Mac's. It was endearing how it held a bowler hat pressed to his chest. She turned to Mac when he spoke again and grinned at his words. A fireball in his hat. She just accepted it, there were so many strange things around here, she'd just accept them. Although it irked her to ask how he could fit a fireball in there without ruining the whole hat. "I never saw a firespren interested in a bowler hat before." she agreed and looked at the little spren. Friends. "I didn't know spren could talk." Smiling she waited for the spren to fly away, or return to the fire. "But then I also didn't know that firespren can change their appearance either."
