  1. It's such a beautiful story...
  2. "Yzabet, and someone else,..." she went silent and then siply continued as if she hadn't mentioned anything concerning her home. "showed me some tricks with a staff, although I am not really good with it. If I'm lucky I can hold it in the right place to intercept a blow. But most of the times I'm not that lucky." She stepped to the side, realizing that proposing to train wasn't the best idea. Why couldn't she think about her words instead of blurting them out? "Try it out. I'll watch." She smiled encouraging at Araha, while thinking for a way to get around the use of her own powers. Coru left her skirt and, keeping close to the shadows, he skipped over to Araha. He settled close to her on the ground, so that Damaya couldn't see him. "It's me Corundum." he said quietly. "If you can, convince her to use her powers. She never has before, except for the few times Yzabet was around. And she is looking for a way to avoid it even now."
  3. @Firerust This series is great. I'm waiting for the next book to arrive. Some friends were like "I've seen this before", but I liked the characters, and although the worldbuilding wasn't something completely unique, it is still good and feels completely and well thought. I found the world with the different cultures and their approach to magic really interessting and I'm really excited to see what will become of them and how/ if they can solve their problems. @TheOrlionThatComesBefore I'm nearly finished with the second book and I have the third one lying here, waiting for me. I guess that means it's also good?
  4. A lot of tourists stood around the statue, taking photos or painting images of it. It was ugly and definitly not something worth to waste your time with. Maybe there was something else to could visit.
  5. Hello and welcome to the shard! Which books have you read so far?
  6. "Thank you." Damaya blushed and then smiled at Araha happily. Maybe it was true. Maybe Araha simply liked her, because of herself and not because she wanted something. "Yzabet has a training ground outside. I don't think she'd mind if we use it, as long as we keep everything in order and don't use her ressources or destroy something." Damaya led the way out of the waystop, to the training ground placed next to it. "Here we are." she smiled. "What do you want to train?"
  7. "Thank you. That's good to know. Then I will definitly stay away from him." She hesitated, thought about Araha's words. You like to help people. Did she do that? She had helped the others, back when they lived on the streets, but afterwards her only goal was to behave so that she would get something to eat. And later even that didn't matter so much. She touched her arm, remembering the pain when it had broken for the first time. Not that the pain changed during the times afterwards. Her terror did though. Once she realized that she could recover, the pain was worse than the fact that her hand was facing the wrong direction. But the thought that she was brave enough to help someone who needed help was compelling. Maybe she could become someone like that. If she ever found a way to leave them. "You're really nice." she told Araha on a whim, and almost immediatly regretted her words. You simply didn't say that. "What I mean is, do you want to continue our conversation? Or maybe train a bit?"
  8. Damaya simply nodded a greeting at the two new guests and followed Araha, wondering what she would like to show her.
  9. He had great plans for his stay here. He wanted to see the cosemere famous statue of the hero called...
  10. So where will we start?
  11. Syens money goes to Damaya (no surprise here...)
  12. Damaya finished preparing the breakfast and carefully stored everything, so that it could be accessed easily the next morning. She then went into the dining room and collected whatever dishes she could find to clean them. She was grateful for the work and tried to do it as good as possible. Drying the plates she then moved on the clean up the kitchen, the tables, the floor and al bowls and plates she had used. Satisfied with the result she closed the door behind her and went to look for Araha. She found her in the hallway, with two new guests talking to her and approached slowly, calculating if the food might be enough. Stopping next to Araha who was laughing nervously she lightly touched her arm. "Hey Araha. I'm finished. Did I miss something?"
  13. Damaya smiled at her. "I have to work. I hope we have some time to talk later." It was nice that Araha looked for her company and she felt guilty to leave her like that. But she had to work, otherwise she would have no place to sleep. She went back to the kitchen and started to clean everything up. Afterwards she checked the remaining food and made sure that there was enough non-chocolate Dessert around. She then started to prepare breakfast. It was quiet in the kitchen and she quickly lost herself to the work.
  14. Damaya smiled at him: "He told me its for steelpushing. And I was curious what that is. Cooking is perfect. Dinner is ready so I'll make sure its enough and then prepare the breakfast." Damaya turned to Araha. "It's all right. Your food is still in the dining room. I simply left it there." Her smile changed, becoming sader. "And you don't have to make up for it. It's not like you owe me something." @Life&Death @Cyanic
  15. I love this kind of theoretical (nonsense) questions! =) All right the three of them would never fight, but if they did it would definitly be devastating. For them and for everything around. If we only look at the power level, I think, that Adonalsium would definitly make the run. But Alcatraz is around and that means: I'd definitly vote for Alcatraz. His talent is so strange and the guy is so lucky, he would win every fight. No matter what opponent, he would win (and likely destroy everything around him without meaning to).
  16. Sounds like a good plan. But I think we should provide some maps to show the movement of the armies. Otherwise it could become really confusing.
  17. Cool! We just started a new era a few weeks back, so most of the characters around are still getting to know each other. It's a good time to start.
  18. @Clutch4Breaker88 some people offer spiked cookies to those who joined the forum. It's some kind of joke. You'll understand it, once you've read Mistborn. Just don't take the cookies and don't repeat any words that shound like you might give away your breath. Archer has also explained it more detailed on his profile.
  19. Kelsier was sad. He wouldn't be able to come, as he was murdered by Kidpen.
  20. @Kyianix Just try it out. We are all very nice people
  21. Autocorrection... Thanks!
  22. I like Elantris a lot. It was the first book I read and I continued to read the other books because of it (when they hit the market that means). Looking back it is weaker his later works, but it was the first one to be sold to a mass market. I still think it's great and I will always love it for introducing me to the cosmere and for the characters and everything. I don't like Lift that much. She's funny to read but in the end I prefer other characters, that take things more seriously. Same with Lopen. They lighten the books a bit and add a funny element, but it's nothing I'd really need. I liked Shallan in OB (not the love triangle, but everything around). And Pattern is one of the best characters in SA, I like him more than Kaladin. I prefer Vivenna over Siri, because Vivenna had such a great character development during Warbreaker and afterwards. And I'm jealous of the hair...
  23. @Silva I could also read through your pages. Although I won't be able to take a look at them until Monday next week.
  24. So he watched a bunch of strangers write posts for a really strange thread.
  25. That was a great round. I'm not sure who I'll vote for. *goes back and reads the entries again*
