    Damaya nodded and got to her feet, saying slightly. "So we need to get out, before this guy find's us and decides to roast us for Dinner. Any ideas on that part? Both of you seem to be more experienced with fighting than I am. Do you think we can surprise him somehow?" Slowly she bent down and retrieved her staff. When she put some weight on it, standing was easier. "There should be a few infused spheres left in my bag. Maybe you could use them." She offered Araha. "Although I seem to have lost it somewhere in the hallway. And I don't have any steel." @Cyanic @wiritospren

    That's an easy question. Metabolize Stormlight like Lift. I would have access to Stormlight, and I could eat as much chocolate as I want to, without having to fear about my weight. Would wou rather read SA 4 in a cellar or on the attic?

    Hello and welcome to the shard! Good idea to start reading Brandon's books! If you've only read Way of Kings so far, you should be carefull with the forums you visit. There are lots of spoilers around for his other books.

    Damaya forced herself to smile at Araha and Dayne and then carefully sat up. It hurt, but she could move. "I think so." she replied. "Althout it depends on what you want me to do. What happened? Are you two all right?" @Cyanic @wiritospren

    Reading Way of Kings with only 1/3 of the page visible ... I can't even imgaine that. Do you like role plays? Like the mistborn Adventure Game?

    The first thing she felt was pain. Her whole body hurt and she forced herself to stay quiet. There would be a servant looking after her, telling him, that she was awake. She needed to recover more, before that happened, because she wasn't sure when he would force her to try again. So she stayed like that for a few more moments, listening into herself, searching for stormlight. There wasn't anything left. That meant getting better wasn't a matter of minutes, more of a few days. He did this sometimes. Gave her enough to heal her broken bones, but not enough to recover. So that she learned what it meant to oppose him. Slowly she opened her eyes, gave them the time to get used to the light and froze, suddenly remembering what happened. "Araha." her voice was raw and speaking hurt. The shell, the fire, and nothing else after that. She tried to turn her head and failed, as the movement hurt and she stopped instinctively. "Coru?" the word wasn't better, but she couldn't see him, and he was always there when she woke up, he never left her alone. A shadow crept over her arm, Coru's letters ragged and distressed. But he was here, he was here with her. That was good. Distressed, why was he distressed. She lived, if she was dead, there wouldn't have been this pain anymore. Damaya tried to think through the fog clouding her brain. The man. "Dayne." she really should stop talking. @Cyanic @wiritospren

    To sum up the "setting" The Black Crusade is in Newcago They get attacked by the Death Guard, who make a camp outside the city They ask for reinforces, and these reinforces camp outside the camp of the Death Guard. Did I get that right? ===================== Then I would propose that we write a short description about the different leader next. So that we have the decision makers and their characteristics together. If we want the battle(s) to have a certain order, we should decide who fights whom and who wins which battle @Grey Knight. I think that's soething where you need to help a lot, because you know the background a lot better than the rest of us. Especially when it comes to the different warmachines, weapons, ... they used. When we have that we could write out the battles from different Povs (whatever we want to write). Everybody could take over a part and in the end we could put it together. We could also think about smaller side stories that could have happend. That would give us the opportunity to flesh out the war more, because we have some scenes that took place, why the generals (or whatever their rank will be) discern what their soldiers will do. It also would offer everybody here to be creative and write a bit, without exploding the setting. In the end we could use these scenes as part of the greater story and simply add them in between the big battle scenes, to offer a background that focusses on different kinds of things. What do you think?

    Hello and welcome to the shard! Your introduction was really interessting to read! I have to admit I don't even have an E-Book reader of my own. Sometimes I borrow one, for example to take it in vacation, but usually I try to get around it. I don't know. E-Books are really practical, but I somehow don't get a grip on them.

    Coru hummed contendedly when he saw his human breathe in more stormlight. Most of the severe burns were closed by now and she felt steady to him. That was good. He needed her.

    Coru curled himself around his humans body. The letters he usually prefered were ragged from distress. He liked his human he didn't want to loose her. She was complicated and disliked him. But she was his human, she didn't belong to anyone else. Distrustful he observed the other two humans. His human had trusted them, one more than the other, but she trusted them both. But as the last years showed, his human didn't had much sense in her, when it came to other humans. He had told her so often to leave, to take her life in her own hand and she had never listened. Curling tighter around her, he carefully listened to her breathing, as it became steadier. The worst wounds healed, but she was still gravely injured. "More. She needs more." he tried to influence the two humans that were carrying her. His human needed to get better. She had finally taken a few steps in the right direction. He couldn't accept, that her story would end here, that their story would end here. He needed her, needed her to live, to get well again. "If you want her to wake up sometime soon, she needs more." Carefully he covered her burns with his body, tried to protect her. @Cyanic @wiritospren

    Coru flowed over to Araha and settled onto the wall next to her. "Damaya is dying." he said quietly. "And a shadow is about to kill your other friend. I don't know if you can see it."

    Suddenly there was a loud noise and then a wave of heat and fire threw Damaya into a wall. Pain raced through her body. Hot, blazing pain, unlike anything she had ever experienced before. She screamed, but her scream was lost in the whirlwind, turning her mind upside down. There was nothing but pain, searing through her mind, an agony that blacked out every thought, every piece of herself. She hung there for the smaller part of a second and then fell down to the ground. the impact hit her burned body with force and her world turned black.

    "I don't know if there's a spanreed around." Damaya answered. "The Library. There could one be there. Pallas would know." She gestured into the waystop. "I never saw him leave, so he should still be there." Without waiting for an answer she turned around ran into the Waystop, screaming Pallas name. @I Am Witless

    "The woman is called Pry. She told Mr. Amber her name earlier. I meant the attackers." Damaya replied and stayed close to the door, looking outside. Sie put her hands in her pockets, to hide their shaking and felt a piece of paper. Taking it out she read the title. "Pry's guide to drawing." Underneath there were sketches illustrating how to draw properly. Astonished she turned to Pry holding up the guide. "Thank you. I have to try it out, that could really help! But maybe later, when the attack is over." Looking back outside she tried to unterstand what was happening and how the guests of the waystop were faring. @Silva @Cyanic

    Damaya stood up and followed Araha outside. The had just reached the training grounds, when she heard a loud noise and was thrown backwards. Her back hit something hard and the air was pressed out of her lungs. She fell to the ground and lay there for a moment, tried to catch her breath. She hurt, but it seemed like nothing was broken and pain was something she could handle. Carefully she got up and grabbed her staff. Looking around she saw Dayne ( @wiritospren) standing on a rooftop nearby. For am moment she asked herself, how he got up there, then she remembered that he could fly just like Araha. There were flashes at the perpendicularity and it slowly dawned on her that the waystop was under attack. Araha told her to go back inside, then ran over to save the woman they had met earlier. Instead of going back inside, she waited until Araha was back. "Do you know who that is?" she asked. @Cyanic
