  1. Hello and welcome to the shard! It sounds like you found the right place! If you could choose one of Brandon's kind of magic for yourself, which one would you choose?
  2. Fracas Fracaw Socks landed next to the pineapple and started eating.
  3. Damaya observed Araha go to the spot, kick the monster away. She was alright. She wasn't even bleeding. Bleeding. The word rand a chord and she looked down at her hand, still dripping blood everywhere. Then she grabbed a sphere out of her bag and inhaled. The stormlight immediatly started to close her wounds and she felt better, stronger. At least her body did. Her soul still hung somewhere between she's dead, no she isn't. She's dead. SHE ISN'T! Araha turned around, carefully putting a hand on her shoulder. "It's not to late to leave." Damaya shook her head. "No." she whispered. "I can't live like that. Knowing that they will follow me, try to kill me." She grabbed Arahas hand, interwined her fingers hers. "Go. Please. I can't live when you die here because of me." she begged. @Cyanic
  4. I loved that one ... not. (I know it's a classic, but still, that one was hard work to finish.) Carrying a red letter she was brandmarked for protecting the father of her child, who stood by her side only shortly before his death. Another movie, to lift he spirits a bit: Guardians of the Galaxy 1
  5. They met in darkness. They had been called to Oasis City, called by the Council they all swore to follow. Called to hear what they were expected to do. Dark figures with long cloaks, hoods drawn deep into the faces, masks covering whatever was left. They were like shadows lurking in the night, avoiding the light to fulfill their plans. Only candles lightened the room, casting flickering shadows about the cloaks, the masks. Soft whispers filled the room, while they all waited for the council to appear. The room fell silent, when they stepped into the free space left for them. Their steps were firm and strong, heads held high in determination. Everything was quiet for a minute, then the man in the middle started to speak. A rumor followed his words, spread through the assembled. Then they fell silent again listening. They listened to the vision of the council, listened to their plan for the future. New exclamations erupted now and then, but most were struck by what the Council presented them. In the end, they all bowed their knees, swore their fealty and their loyalty to their new leader. They would follow him and they would make sure his vision about the Ghostblood's future would become reality. The Ghostbloods had overcome several cases of the plague and they had reformed. They had changed their council and they had handed out new tasks. They are of Dominion and Devotion and they had a goal.
  6. Althea finished eating and then waved an Underling over. She scribbled a note and then told the woman to hand it over. Afterwards she looked around for someone to talk to. ======================================= @Life&Death An Underling walked over and hands Mr Amber a note. It says:
  7. Damaya jumped backwards when Riathor was attacked and bit down on a curse. There it was. And now, that they were attacked, she felt calm. Her fear, her confusion about everything subsided, leaving her calm. This was it. It would end now, somehow it would end today. She grabbed her staff and tried to hit one of the balls, but she missed and hit the wall instead. The impact drove a sharp pain through her arm, too much pain. She looked down and saw one of the monsters hanging from her arm, its teeth deeply in her flesh. Dropping her staff she tried to pry it loose, but the more she pulled, the harder it bit down. With a cry she followed Riathors example and smashed it against the wall, until it finally let loose and dropped to the ground, splattering her dress in gore. Before she could lean down to pick up her weapon, another one was bitting into her ankle and she held onto the wall to stabilize herself and stomped down on it with her other foot. Looking up she saw Riathor, killing the little balls without any problems and suddenly she was only grateful, that he was here. He was strange and she had no idea, why he was here, but it wasn't important. It was then, that she saw Araha stumble and fall down on the ground. With a scream she rushed forward, her foot catching another of these things and unable to stop her fall she hit the ground. Ignoring the ball hanging at her foot she tried to get up, but had to smash it somewhere along the way, since it got in her way. When she looked over again, she saw her friend, her only friend lying on the floor, monsters ripping out pieces of her flesh. She screamed again took another step forward, but she was too late, Araha vanished in a lump of monsters. Mortified she stared at the floor, barely recognizing, that another ball sank its teeth into her shoulder. She felt numb, empty. This wasn't worth it. It was her price to pay, not Arahas. No more martyrs, these were Araha's words, not her own. The darkness inside her stretched it's claws, ripped at her. It was her mistake, she should have been the one to die. Not Araha, especially not Araha. Someone bumped into her and she looked up, saw Araha fists raised, face turned towards their enemies. And yet there still were the monsters on the floor, huddling together. "Araha." she whispered and touched her arm. It was warm. Araha was warm. She closed her arms around Araha, not caring that there was still one of the balls biting into her shoulder, or that she was bleeding from several wounds. "Araha." she sobbed and hugged her stronger. @Grey Knight @Cyanic
  8. I think a logo/ glyph/ crest also would be nice to have. Something that stands for the city and therefore for all of us. But in the end: Just draw whatever you want to! And a picture of the Alleycity destroyed or not would be great!
  9. Althea let her weapon disappear and looked around. Despite the attack, almost nobody had left. Only a few looked a bit shaken, but that was expected. She walked over to the side and grabbed some food and something to drink and then leaned against the wall, observing.
  10. Using a secret organization he tried to steer his own organization in a direction to fulfill his plan. Brent Weeks - The black prism
  11. "Hi." Damaya replied, pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "I didn't want to startle you. I'm sorry." She shifted her weight from one leg to the other and stepped back to put more distance between them. @Gancho Libre
  12. Damaya climbed through the hole and looked around. She felt uneasy, afraid. And yet, there was hope. However this ended, she was either dead or free and while dead wasn't prefered ending, free sounded almost too good to believe it. Walking over to Riathor she felt Coru buzz slightly on her arm, urging her on. She stepped behind Riathor with a small uneasy smile, her dread open on her face. She had never been good at hiding her feelings. @Gancho Libre @Silva @Grey Knight @Cyanic
  13. Althea felt some vines grab her and then she flew through the room. Instinktively she breathed in stormlight and crashed into the wall with a sickening sound. She felt some of her bones give way and her world turned black for a moment. Then she hit the floor. It hurt, hurt even more as she landed on some of her broken bones. Gasping in pain she struggled to keep concious, thankful for the stormlight raging through her body. It took a few moments for the pain to subside and another few until she was able to pull out more spheres to breathe in. At least it felt like moments for her. When she was able to get to her feet, the monster looked a lot less threatening than before. Typical her to miss most of the fun. Slowly she walked over, carefull to hide the fact, that she was still hurting. She would wait and see, if it was neccessary for her to resume fighting, or if the problem just got solved.
  14. Hello and welcome to the shard! And don't say anything for "initiation".^^ Which character did you dislike most?
  15. The dancers ignored him, being fully occupied with their moves.
  16. Damaya shook her head. "No, I won't go back up and hide for the rest of my life." she replied, although it would have been the right thing to do. "There are whispers." She looked at the door. Running, hiding? "We don't know what's behind the door, so we can't make a plan." Feeling utterly stupid she walked over and pressd down the handle to open the door. @Grey Knight @Cyanic
  17. Althea followed Night over to the monster, trying to keep track how many people already attacked. It was strong, the fact, that is was still allive, made her proud. It shouldn't have been here, but in the end it didn't matter. It would be interessting to see how long it was able to hold out against so many. Summoning Brashen as a halberd she ran forward and aimed the pointed end at a point deep inside the twisting mass of lines. @I think I am here. @PrinceDusty
  18. Then you definitly need to read N.K. Jemisin's fifth season. It's dark and has a great plot. It really touched me. The characters were realistic and the world fascinating. It's partially written in second person, so don't be surprised. Took me one chapter to get used to it, but afterwards it was fantastic.
