  1. Damaya thought about Araha's question for a while before replying. "A few days ago the greatest threat was the man himself. But I still believed him to be a normal, if cruel man. So I think you could count my knowledge worthless." Since nobody else seemed to have a question Damaya grabbed the map and shoved it into her pocket. She then turned around, stepped out ouf the kontor and stopped immediatly, when she was greeted by a man with a shard blade in his had. "Hi." she replied to his greeting out of habit. He definitly hadn't been at the Waystop and she had no idea who he was. but he held his blade casually, more like he wanted to be prepared and so she smiled at him. In the end it didn't really matter who helped here. And if he was in league with the man and planed to kill her - she would deal with that as the need arouse. "I'm Damaya. Welcome at the house, where I grew up." Coru buzzed slightly on her arm and she added a partial explanation for the corpses in the room behind her: "We suspect that the men and the woman leading this house are in league with the chaos and want to find out what happens." She stepped fully into the hallway, taking her staff into her hand. Heavy footsteps were the only warning she got and then one of the guards rounded the corner to her left. Damaya forced herself to smile at him. "Hello Duncan." she greeted the man she had know for several years. "Good to see you. I brought some friends along, I hope that's all right." She tried to give her voice something lightweight, as though as everything was allright, but even she herself could her the heaviness underlying her words. He didn't reply, instead she heard more footsteps from the direction of the porch. The second guard approached from behind, apparently they had taken the time to split up. It was only then, that she noticed, the blood dripping to the floor with every step they took and the blank stare of their eyes. There was no recognition there, nothing of the warmth that shone there, when she escaped her rooms and joined them in a card game. No trace of the comfort when they slipped her some lightened spheres. This was wrong. "Araha, Deras. Can you take over this one?" she pointed to the guard on the left, blocking their way into the cellar. "What ever happened to them this is not normal." She turned around and faced the other one. His steps were blurred, like he drank too much, but his hands held his sword in a tight grip. His shield covered most of his body and his eyes were starring straight ahead. She threw a glance at Pry and Riathor, careful to leave the wounded woman out of this. She'd already gotten hurt because of this mess. "I have to admit I'm a bad fighter. Some help would be greatly appreciated." The guard closed the distance a lot faster than expected and she barly had the time to bring up her staff in front of her to block a hit aiming at her face. Proud that she had blocked the attack she didn't realize that he used his shield to hit her in the side. Pain flared and for a moment she was almost. Then she breathed in some stormlight, it's rage banishing the pain. He stood close, too close for his weapon to bear and for her own to be effective. And his shield was still next to her. Long forgotten lessons started to crawl up to the surface and with a scream she brought up her knee and hit him between his legs. He stumbled backwards and she took the moment to collect herself. This was no training where each successfull block earned her a smile. @Gancho Libre @Silva @Cyanic
  2. Not atm, no. This kind of modernization wasn't addressed so far. But we could always add it, of course. But atm, no.

  4. Good question. Since the Space Marines helped rebuilding, I think they would have repaired/ built a wall. Out of military defense reasons. But we didn't really talk about that, only that it was rebuilt. Maybe we could add a part of the city where there are still some destroyed houses, especially in the poorer section, where nobody had the money to restore the previous state.
  5. @Grey Knight Sounds great! Then we would have starting points where someone else could drop in! And we had an overview for ourselves. Although the attack on the Synod intrigues me. I'm already collecting ideas.
  6. So he turned and confronted Snarky Britches with the most powerful sentence that came to his mind:
  7. That sounds great, thank you!

  10. For playing one of my favourite Alleyverse Characters.
  11. He gulped it down, eager to have something to drink.
  12. @Ark1002 Honestly I'm a bit lost at the moment. I'd really like to help, but I'm not sure who is working on what and what exactly should be devided. I'm pretty sure I can't see the wood because of too many trees, because I followed the thread and read the posts, but atm I have absolutely no idea what and how and why. So to answer your question: I don't know
  13. This is fine
  14. I get the idea. I also have a stack close to the couch in the living room. And the one on the nightstand is a good friend of mine. And I bought a new bookshelf this january. But now I'm out of walls where to place them. Thankfully I lend books to my friends, about 30 are travelling at the moment. That also helps... I have to admit that I buy almost everything I read. Because I read through the fantasy/ sci fi books at my local library years ago. The serious problems of a bookworm.
  15. Damaya saw Arahas glance, the expectation behind her eyes. Cellar. The woman was talking about a cellar. Most houses had a cellar. Maybe they should look for a trapdoor in the floor, or some stairs. It couldn't be too difficult to find a way? She felt Coru buzz slightly, reminding her of something else. "I am your own personal expert at not facing memories." she whispered to herself, but she knew Araha would understand the reference to their conversation earlier. Turning away she walked over to a wall and pressed her hand against it, stared at the stones. At the stones because they were safe, they were stones nothing else. She took one deep breath, and a second one. Then she forced herself too look around the room. Once, twice. She knew this room. Knew it by her heart. She had spent a lot of time in here, writing down goods, checking if a delivery was complete and of a good quality. She knew where the cellar was, how to access it. She knew what was below. Or at least part of it. Another deep breath. She had wanted to leave, to turn her back on this and never come back. To leave him and his schemes, to finally be free. And here she was. "Mai." Coru's voice was quiet, almost too quiet to be heard. Damaya looked up, back at Araha, at the nice girl next to her. At the the woman, that was obviously in pain, but that had been sent by someone to look out for her. She wasn't alone anymore. The thought calmed her and she straightened up, walked back to them. "I know where the cellar is. And I think I can reproduce something resembling a map." Opening her bag she pulled out a sheet of paper and a carbon pencil. "I'm not sure if the messurements are right, and there is a large part I've never even took a step into. The storage area down there is large and filled with goods, sorted by the day they arrived." She started with the outline of the house and continued. "There are two guards around here all the time. The head servant. Three maids and two other servants, looking after the man and the woman, and one of the maids was responsible for me. The cook and two kitchen girls, although one of the kitchen girls usually also goes to the market and buys the food. One gardener, although he also repaired whatever was neccessary. Then we have another man, but he doesn't live here. He is only here during the day and help with the business. He is usually around close to the man, either in the first floor in his private study, or down in the cellar. He is said to have a small room down there, and I think I know where it is, but I never entered it." Finishing the map she help it up for everyone to see. "This is the large storage area. Over there we have the wine cellar, although there is also beer in there. This door is always locked, and this small room should be the study of the assistant. There is also an additional food storage area. I can show you the way to the stairs, if you want to." And hopefully, the man would be far, far away conducting his business. @Grey Knight @Silva @Cyanic ========================= A young man, dressed in servants cloths left the house and approached Riathor. "I must ask you to leave these premises. This is a private space." he informed him loudly, then stepped closer, as if the show him the way out, dropping his voice to a whisper. "Your friends entered through a window close to the porch. They are in the kontor at the momemt. And whatever you plan to do, you need to be quieter. The guards already heard you." He stepped back and gestured towards the main entrance to the premises. "Like I said, you need to leave now." his voice once again lound and easy to hear. @Gancho Libre
  16. So Butt jumped out of the potato, drew his sword and challenged Miss Frizzle to a fight.
  17. Actually, I don't want to be right. I want to be surprised But this is what I could imagine (wild speculation of course): I think the SA will end a bit like The Wayfarer Redeption Series by Sara Douglass. The world will be destroyed or at least almost not inhabitable anymore and a part can flee. Afterwards (Endgame Cosmere), some team up with the inhabitants of other planets and in the end find a new place to live. In this process investiture as it was, will be changed completely. Some explanation: SA can't solve all problems, or we wouldn't need MB era 4. From the set up atm, I feel like it won't have a classical happy ending. I think it will be more a "happy ending" looking at "hey, at least they were able to get away/ preserve some of their culture". I hold it possible, that the signers stay behind and manage to push humans our. I have no real reasons for that, like I wrote above it's wild speculation, based on gut feeling. But it would put a lot of pressure on the survivors, make it really exciting for the readers and it would show clearly how dangerous the fight truly is. I don't think they will reform Adonalsium, but I think more shards are likely to be shattered. During that process they will change at least a part of investiture fundamentally. I can also imagine, that they will try to recreate something like Adonalsium, but fail and create a different being. Apart from that I do expect that at least someone survives and that we something resembling peace at the end. I think first of the Sun will play a vital role to decide the final battle.
  18. A monkey came by and grabbed the potato, taking it with him into a treehouse.
  19. I lost again T_T This develish game is occupying my mind
  20. When you sort a huge part of your bookshelf new to find a good spot for Legion. (It's full I have no idea where to put Skyward, or the others still lying around. They trusted me with their pages and stories and I don't even have a nice, warm place for them to stay.)
  21. Nothing so far, just got up, checked the shard and now it's off to work.
  22. So he sat down, pondering what he could do to stop it.
  23. I lost the game... And I just realized that now I will loose evertime I'll open the shard from now on, or at least see this thread.
